
Balance: Taking Time For Transitions
Join me for this Yoga Nidra-style meditation where we tap into how to find balance by nourishing ourselves in times of transition! Taking time to pause in awareness around transition means we can flow more easily in our lives!

Hey there,
This is Jen with Laughing Lotus Wellness.
So welcome into our meditation balance,
Taking time for transitions.
I invite you to take a really comfortable seat or lie down somewhere.
This is a yoga nidra style meditation and so we are going to be doing some consciousness awareness and so when we rotate that consciousness it can be really powerful to be lying down,
To sense things in the body just a little bit more easily,
But you take whatever format feels best for you today.
And so sinking and settling,
Beginning to drop into the breath,
Making any adjustments to your clothing,
Your props,
Your body,
To be just that much more comfortable.
And I invite you to begin to close the eyes or soften the gaze and deepen and lengthen the breath.
And as you sink and settle here,
This relaxed state,
Allowing yourself to fall even deeper into relaxation as I count down from five to one.
Five,
Relaxing and releasing.
Four,
Letting go of any thoughts,
Feelings,
Or sensations.
Three,
Falling deeper into relaxation.
Two,
Allowing yourself to be in this peaceful place.
And one,
Completely relaxed and ready for yoga nidra.
We begin our journey today by setting the tone of our practice by creating an intention or using a sankalpa.
You can plant the seed of this thought using my words as your words if they resonate.
I am grateful to find balance and taking time to nourish transitions of every kind in order to make greater space for flow in my life.

And checking in one more time with the body to bring an awareness for what would be more comfortable,
Making even a 10% adjustment to something that would make it a little more relaxed for you to be here,
Whether in your clothing,
Your props,
Your body,
Making final adjustments,
And then listening in for placing the awareness in the places of the body knowing you've no need to move at all physically,
But rather we will just place awareness.
Today I invite you to imagine either red or orange healing light coming in through the body to support us both being rooted and anchored and also able to flow.
So those two lowest chakras are also a place you can spend some time and energy in if that feels like it resonates for you.
So we start on the right side of the body bringing awareness and healing light in the right thumb,
Second finger,
Third finger,
Fourth finger,
And fifth finger.
Healing light of awareness in the right palm,
Wrist,
Elbow,
Shoulder,
Armpit,
Waist,
Thigh,
Knee,
Calf,
Ankle,
Heel,
Sole,
Right big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
And fifth toe.
Now bringing that healing light of awareness imagining a red orange healing light in the left thumb,
Second finger,
Third finger,
Fourth finger,
And fifth finger.
Healing light of awareness in that left palm,
Wrist,
Elbow,
Shoulder,
Armpit,
Waist,
Thigh,
Knee,
Calf,
Ankle,
Heel,

Returning to that right side healing light of awareness that red orange healing light and vibration.
Bringing that light to the right thumb,

And now placing that warm red and orange healing light of awareness on the left side again,
Beginning in the left thumb,

Radiant healing vibration in light,
Red and orange healing energy in the whole left side of the body,

Healing light of awareness in the whole left side.
And now placing that healing light in the top of the head,
The top of the head,
Radiant energy filling the crown of your head,
The crown,
The crown,
The forehead,
Right eyebrow,
Left eyebrow,
Space between the brows,
Right eye,
Left eye,
Right nostril,
Left nostril,
Right cheek,
Left cheek,
Right jaw,
Left jaw,
Right ear,
Left ear,
Upper lip,
Lower lip,
The space between the lips,
Chin,
Throat,
Right side of the chest,

The whole of the chest,

Warm healing light filling the whole front of the body,
The whole front of the body,
Lit in radiant red and orange healing light.
And now placing that light of awareness in the back side of the body,
Placing the mind and awareness in the back of the body,
Bringing awareness to the back of the head,
Your right shoulder blade and left shoulder blade,
The length of the spine,
Right hip and left hip,
Right seat,
Left seat,
Back of the right thigh,
Back of the left thigh,
Right calf muscle,
Left calf muscle,
Right ankle,
Left ankle,
Right heel and left heel.
Healing light of awareness,
Radiant vibration,
Red and orange healing light in the whole back of the body,
The whole back of the body,
The whole back of the body.
And now bringing that light of awareness to the top of the crown and now the feet,
Holding the two senses together,
Let up now the crown,
The crown,
The feet,
The feet.
And now as you breathe,
Moving that awareness and healing red and orange light from the crown to the feet and allowing the breath and inhale to run from the feet to the crown,
Sensing that energy moving on an inhale and exhale from the crown to the feet and from the feet to the crown.
Breathing just like this for a few moments,
Moving that healing light of awareness from the crown to the feet and the feet to the crown.
And now seeing the whole body as if you are seeing yourself lit in beautiful radiant ruby red and deep orange light,
As if an energetic light is within and you can see your own reflection,
Seeing your own body and your own light,
Seeing the whole body lit from the inside out,
Deep wisdom and intuition in the third eye space in the crown full of radiant light and energy,
The whole body lit in radiant nourishing light.
The energy is healing and nourishing our bodies and souls so that we can achieve greater balance.
The whole body lit in light,
Light of awareness in the whole body,
Healing light of awareness in the whole body.
I invite you here to imagine that you are seeing a dark and starry night overhead.
There is a chill and you are wrapped in a warm and velvety blanket and as you take in the stars they appear to be moving swiftly as if time is moving.
You see the moon begin to expand into a full moon and then shrink again until it is as if it no longer exists.
Staying here for a moment pause and breathe as you imagine the moon expanding and shrinking.
And now I invite you to begin to slow that with your mind.
You send the intention of slowing things way down so in your mind here witnessing just the waxing and the waning of the moon and your mind as you are wrapped in that deliciously cozy blanket as you breathe,
Slowing the moon and the movement of the stars.
And you are feeling so balanced,
So connected and rooted to this moment and have the deepest sense of being able to slow things down to really witness and make a transition from one moment to the next with greater ease.
And I invite you now to imagine a gorgeous ocean expanse in front of us and a mountain vista behind us as we begin to witness the sun rising and moving up overhead and behind us as it drops behind the mountain.
Seated in such a way that moving from left to right we witness the sun rising over the ocean,
Setting behind the mountains,
Honoring the sun rising in the east and setting in the west.
Once again we have this sense of quickening and taking this moment in your mind intending for the journey to slow and your mind calling up a warm summer day and evening nourished by the sounds of the ocean,
The feel of the sand soft beneath the seat,
Smell of the salt water,
Pausing here as you breathe,
Intentionally slowing the pace and nourishing this moment in time as you witness the sunrise and sunset using the breath to anchor.
You Noticing the sunlight as it begins the day bright and warm with a beautiful pink and orange glow as it turns into a fully lit beautiful day full of sunshine as that movement moves up and across overhead in the sky and then crosses over slowly making its way as it drops behind the mountain and the beautiful corals,
Purples and blues of the sunset.
Feeling so balanced,
So connected and rooted to this moment,
Having the deepest sense of being able to slow things down to really witness and make a transition from one moment to the next with greater ease.
And next we begin to reflect on our own lives,
Skipping through the moments,
The youngest memories,
All the way up to present moment as if on fast forward our memories of us as we age shifting quickly and allowing that to play out like a video in your mind as you breathe and feeling incredibly held here in a beautiful orb of red and orange healing light all the way around your body,
Encasing you in the deepest sense of being anchored,
Held and loved and the flow of life becoming aware of the need to slow things in that mind as you reflect for a moment nourishing the soul by witnessing the incredible transformation and transitions you have made in your life feeling so held in love as we slow our role through our lifespan and breathe here to review the transitions from a place of love and light.
You you feeling so balanced so connected and rooted in this moment having the deepest sense of being able to slow things down to really witness and make a transition from one moment to the next with greater ease and beginning to inhale we're going to count from one to seven and then from seven to one inhaling for one exhaling for one inhaling for two exhaling for two inhaling for three exhaling for three and now in your own time counting up to seven and back down again you you and releasing that counting of the breath here calling up the following images as I say them aloud and experience the sense of being held nourished loved and balanced as you witness these transitions seeing the dark and inky vastness of night sky full of stars as the moon is full you're being covered in the mystery to snuggle in a warm and plush blanket you seeing the stars in a dark and deep night sky able to really take in the constellations and wonder of the night as you breathe here in the sunrise slowly creeping up over the ocean as it washes you in warmth and light a sense of life and vitality coursing through you as the Sun sets behind a majestic mountain you taking in the sense of your life as you grow shift change and move through the moments of your life nourished in love kindness balance and grace and you are feeling so connected balanced and rooted to this moment having the deepest sense of being able to slow things down to really witness and make transition from one moment to the next with greater ease as we transition out of our journey today we return to that intention or sankalpa for our practice again using my words as your words if they resonate repeating them in your mind I am grateful to find balance and taking time to nourish transitions of every kind in order to make greater space for flow in my life I am grateful to find balance and taking time to nourish transitions of every kind in order to make greater space for flow in my life I'm grateful to find balance and taking time to nourish transitions of every kind in order to make greater space for flow in my life and slowly beginning to return to the earth body feeling a sense of muscles and bones how they anchor you into the physical plane paying attention to how you are feeling just noticing the soul in this earth body balanced loving and nourished sense of the soul as we have witnessed transitions bringing awareness to the breath and the body as it expands the chest ribs and belly bringing in vital life force energy taking stock of the transition of the breath as it moves through the body like waves of the ocean tapping into the breath as a transition the beginning of an inhale all the way up expansive breath gentle pause as we flow over and into the exhale just taking body awareness the transition of the breath beginning to slowly run the thumbs across the ends the fingertips beginning to bring awareness and the fingers and hands might rub your hands together creating some warmth and place them either over the low belly or the low belly and the heart just tapping back into the awareness we transition into physical and body presence I sense the rise and the fall of the belly as you breathe and the rise and fall of the chest taking a moment for gratitude in the journey through transitions making space to nourish yourself in those moments feeling so balanced connected and rooted at this moment having the deepest sense of being able to slow things down to really witness and make transition when one moment next with greater ease as we gently close our practice I encourage you to stay connected to the anchor of the breath and times of transition to nourish yourself through the moments of life to take time to pause and honor the moments to allow more fluidity grace and nuance and I invite you now as we close to bring your hands to heart center preposition if that feels good for you the nourishment of my soul honors the nourishment of your soul bringing us into balance as we move the trenches transitions of life greater he is making us one from a place of love and light you
