You are listening to the Motherhood Unstressed podcast and I'm your host Liz Carlisle.
Thank you so much for joining me for another guided meditation,
For making the decision to slow down and take some time for yourself,
For your mental,
Emotional,
And physical well-being.
The hardest part is already done because you've pressed play.
As we sit together,
I want you to focus mostly on the rhythm of your breath.
As you do this,
This meditation,
You'll notice how alive you truly are.
Even when you feel that life is slow or stuck,
When you tune in to your body and your breath,
You'll start to become aware of how fast life can change and how much power you actually have to make a change.
Get settled.
You can do this meditation sitting cross-legged on a cushion,
Sitting in a chair,
Or one of my favorites,
Lying flat on your back on your yoga mat with your eyes closed and your palms facing up.
Feel your body settle in to whatever is supporting you and bring your attention to your breath.
Your breath is your guide in life.
If ever you start to feel upset or triggered from past traumas,
Bring your attention back to your breath.
Your saving grace from saying things you'll regret,
Acting out of emotion.
Your breath gives you the space to make a better choice.
That's what we're doing right now.
You're training your brain to take that space without getting quiet and focusing in active meditation.
You don't even know that it's a possibility.
So let's take a deep breath in now.
Hold at the top and let it go.
Again deep breath in.
Hold and let it go.
Once more deep breath in.
Hold and let it go.
Return to gentle rhythmic breathing.
I want you to envision something that has been weighing on you emotionally.
Maybe it's politics,
Pandemic,
Your children's schoolwork,
Your boss,
Whatever has been giving you trouble.
Now with each breath you take during our time together,
I want you to actively strip away piece by piece that worry as if it were a mess in the middle of your living room.
And with each breath you're taking part of it and putting it in the trash.
With each breath it gets smaller,
Less significant.
There's less fear.
Until after a time there's nothing there.
And there's nothing there because you have eliminated it.
The only time that worry or fear can have control over you is when you decide to let it.
Don't let it.
Keep breathing.
Keep noticing.
Notice the lightness that's coming over your body.
Notice the peace that's emanating out of your heart.
Notice the change,
The alchemy happening right now in your body as you shift from a place of fear to a place of love because really there's only those choices.
Let's breathe in silence together for the next minute or two.
If you still have a mess in your living room,
Keep hacking away at it bit by bit with every breath.
I promise by the end of the two minutes you'll feel different,
Freer,
In tune with your inner strength,
Your own divine inner power.
You know that that's who you really are.
Don't forget any longer.
Remember.
Think it's not too late before it starts You You You You Come back into your body now Let's take a deep breath in to awaken ourselves back into consciousness And let it go Breathe normally can do some gentle neck rolls If you're laying on your back turn to the side that's most comfortable for you and lay in the fetal position for a moment or two Using your arm as a pillow And then when you're ready Gently rise up Roll your shoulders back Feel that inner strength you've just reawakened That inner strength that you've just reawakened You can flutter your eyes open now Smile if you like I just know how wonderful and beautiful you are I just got chills saying that because I know that it's true I love you so much.
Thank you for meditating with me today I love you so much.
