In this meditation with use visualization to build our concentration muscle. This allows us to tap into our equanimity and grow in building our meditation practice. The Happy Place meditation for me is a meditation to connect with your inner compass.

Hi,

Welcome to this 10 minute guided meditation.

Today I want to share with you a more visual meditation,

A happy place meditation.

Today we're going to learn how to manage our concentration as we envision a place that we feel safe and calm.

A place that we can mentally visit when we are experiencing a difficult moment in our day.

So if you're ready,

Let's rock and roll.

Find a comfortable position with a straight back,

Yet alert.

Rest your hands loosely on your lap or knees.

Close your eyes or keep them open if this works for you.

As we begin,

We take a few deep breaths.

As we breathe in,

We stretch our back.

As we exhale,

We settle in our position,

Relaxing our forehead,

Jaw and shoulders.

Settling in this calm state.

Inhale,

Stretching your back and exhale,

We settle in.

We let all the pressures just go.

As our mind wanders in this meditation,

We hold no judgment.

We just visualize a happy place where we can bring our mind back to.

I would like to share my happy place with you.

My happy place is in nature,

Surrounded by trees,

Birds chirping,

Fire crackling from a fire pit with a cup of coffee in hand.

If this works for you,

I invite you to share with me.

If not,

Envision your own,

This can be on a beach as you hear the waves come in and out or even in a city as you may find peace in the sounds of the cars and the people.

This is your place,

So allow yourself to take a few minutes to envision it.

As we breathe in and out,

If your mind wanders,

We just come back to our happy place.

No pressure,

No judgment.

We let all the pressures just go.

We let all the pressures just go.

When we envision our happy place,

We work on our concentration muscle.

We give our mind a subtle nudge when our mind wanders.

Our mind wanders and we just guide it back gently.

We say,

Hey,

Look at this place.

We say,

Hey,

Look at this place.

To quote Michael Jordan,

Lift the moment for the moment.

One minute left.

And now for the remainder of the meditation,

We just sit and relax and surf through this meditation until we hear the bell.

Now,

As you open your eyes,

Enjoy the peace that comes with taking time for yourself.

See you next time,

Friends.

I like the simplicity of this meditation. The sound of the audio track coming back in is a little distracting for me. But I have picky earholes. :)

I especially loved the bird sounds. Simple but effective 🙏
