Mindfulness encourages us to approach all of our experiences with a sense of childlike curiosity, so, this short practice will help you to explore your physical bodily sensations as if for the first time. This simple act of paying attention to the physical body will leave you feeling more centred and embodied.

To begin by settling into your body,

Either sitting or lying down.

Taking a deep breath in,

Releasing slowly.

If you haven't already,

Closing down your eyes and settling into stillness.

Mindfulness encourages us to approach all of our experiences with a sense of childlike curiosity.

So in this practice,

Allowing yourself to explore your physical body as if for the first time.

Being aware of the parts of your body that are in contact with the surface beneath you.

Focusing the light touch of the air against your skin.

And the texture of your clothes against your skin.

Just how it feels in your body to be sitting or lying down in this position.

Feeling all of the sensations within your body with a sense of curiosity and awe.

Focusing as if for the first time what it actually feels like to be in your body.

Allowing yourself to experience all of the physical sensations that are happening in this moment.

Without any judgement,

Criticism or frustration.

And starting to bring your awareness back to the outside world now.

Noticing the different sounds in the environment around you.

Starting to draw your breath in a little bit deeper.

When you're ready,

Slowly opening your eyes.
