Use this mindful exercise for daily practice during the second week of May. The focus of this gentle session is the mind, allowing some time to relax the mind by acknowledging the thoughts that often takes residence. Allow this exercise to be a reminder that we have choice in what thoughts we wish to attend to. This track is to give you the space, permission and moment to focus on relaxing your mind.

Hello and welcome to mindfulness with Ruby.

I would like for us to start taking a gentle inhale through the nose and then slowly and calmly exhaling through the mouth as you allow your mind to settle.

And again inhaling in through the nose and then breathing out as you calmly close your eyes.

Gently start to focus your attention onto your thoughts.

Simply watch your thoughts like clouds floating by.

What clouds keep appearing and disappearing?

Try to identify them.

Remember to be gentle and kind to yourself as you go through this exercise.

In a busy world it is normal to often experience a busy mind but know that we are able to choose what thoughts we want to attend to and what thoughts we want to simply acknowledge and let flow by.

Take a few moments now just to observe your thought clouds.

Not attaching any stories or judgements to them,

Just watching them as you calmly breathe.

Good.

Taking an inhale now of all your thought clouds and then exhaling them all out.

And again inhaling in your thoughts and your worries,

Then breathing them out.

Allowing them to be blown away just for this moment.

And now taking an inhale through the nose and then exhale as you calmly open your eyes.

Thank you for taking this time to observe your thoughts and to relax your mind.

Thank you.
