Hello,
This is Christine here.
Welcome to your yoga nidra practice today.
It is an honor to support you in creating sacred space for yourself,
To turn inward,
To rest deeply before a new cycle begins,
And to sit in the still void of potential,
Of all that is still to be born through you.
This is part of a three-day yoga immersion to connect with the wisdom and qualities of the new moon.
But know that this practice can be done at any time.
This particular practice is designed to support you in slowing down,
Systematically relaxing the body,
The nervous system,
The breath,
The mind,
And the still subtler layers of your being.
Here we embrace the qualities of darkness,
Of stillness,
Emptiness,
Surrender.
Come now,
Settle back and settle in,
Nestling into your yoga nidra nest,
Your cozy cocoon,
Supporting the back of the head with a pillow or maybe behind the knees to support the low back.
You might cover up to keep the body warm,
As well as grabbing any other items that support you in feeling held in your sacred space,
Cozy and comfortable.
Notice if there are any final adjustments you could make to be even 1% more comfortable.
Then just settling in,
Surrendering the weight of the body into the support of the earth beneath you.
With each exhalation,
Body sinking,
Softening,
Naturally conforming to the landscape of props beneath you.
Then a gentle lengthening on the inhale.
And exhale,
Soften around the brow,
Temples,
And the eyes.
Gentle lengthening as you inhale.
Then exhaling,
Softening the jaw and the tongue.
Gentle encouragement on the inhale.
Exhaling,
Shoulders softening.
Continuing this way a few moments longer.
Letting go,
Tension beginning to melt away.
Rest easy knowing that whatever you may be carrying with you is held in this sacred space.
All of you is welcome here.
There is nothing you need to do.
Let my voice be your anchor.
You are encouraged to remain awake and aware.
The practice is now beginning.
Could you take a deep breath in through the nose?
And as you exhale,
Let go even more.
Imagine your mind like a flower.
That begins to unfurl,
Softening open.
Now take three deep breaths.
Inhaling,
Filling the lungs.
Exhaling,
Emptying your lungs with a deep sigh out.
Release,
Just be aware of your breath.
Each time you exhale,
Feel a wave of relaxation sweep through your body as you release and let go.
Invite stillness into your body.
Be aware of the space your body is occupying.
Imagine that you are drawing a circle of protection around your body.
Just let this be intuitive.
See and feel yourself inside this circle.
As you become more still,
Begin to feel the breath as it enters your nostrils.
Feel it travel into your lungs where it dissolves.
Then follow its path all the way to somewhere outside your body where it dissolves again.
Observe its rhythm and quality.
You are merely watching it move in and out of your body.
Feel the rise and fall of your navel as you breathe in and out.
Begin to notice all the layers of sound around you.
Both ears open,
Receptive,
Listening.
Noticing the sounds closest to you.
Sounds just outside the space you're in.
Sounds from off in the distance.
Sounds on this recording.
Just let all the sounds be there.
Begin to welcome the hug of gravity on the body.
Notice the parts of your body that are touching the floor.
Begin at your feet and scan upward.
Feel your heels touching the floor.
Calves and the floor.
Backs of your thighs and the floor.
Buttocks and the floor.
Parts of your spine touching the floor.
Shoulder blades and the floor.
Back of your head,
Heavy.
Imagine the body could melt into the support of the earth and the landscape beneath you.
Imagine the lungs could be filled like a water bottle.
Filling from the bottom up on the inhale.
Exhaling to empty.
Empty.
Inhaling diaphragm moves down to make space for the breath.
Exhaling diaphragm rises like a hug for the lungs.
Inhaling down toward the pubic bone.
Then feeling the ribcage expand.
Then the collarbones and even the throat.
Exhaling to empty out.
Continue with these diaphragmatic or belly breaths on your own for a few more rounds.
Release.
Let your breath return to a natural flow.
Adapting awareness to your heart center.
Feel your physical heart.
Notice its rhythmic beating.
Begin to open up to the wisdom of this sacred space.
The heart knows what it needs.
Begin to welcome in your sankalpa a heartfelt vow or resolve for this lifetime,
For this coming lunar cycle,
Or even for this very moment.
Or perhaps you choose to rest in the potential of no intention.
Trust yourself.
Trust what arises here.
Mentally repeating your sankalpa three times,
Affirming your heart's resolve.
You may also choose to invite in the following.
In my surrender,
The next step on my path is revealed.
I am open and receptive to the potential ready to be expressed through me.
In my surrender,
The next step on my path is revealed.
I am open and receptive to the potential ready to be expressed through me.
Now just let it go.
There's nothing you need to do about it.
Trust in the process of unfoldment and relax back into the quietude of stillness.
We will now begin a rotation of consciousness through the physical pathways of the body.
You might imagine a little island of awareness at each point in the body as I name it.
Allow your attention to move from point to point.
Resolve to remain alert,
But know you may come in and out of awareness of my voice.
Allow your experience to be as it is and trust that you will receive exactly what you need from it.
Become aware of your right hand.
Your right hand thumb.

Become aware of the back of your neck.
The cervical spine.
The right shoulder blade.

The spine gently curving through your back and the whole of the back together.
Awareness soaking into the front of your body.
Front of the throat.
Crown of the head.
Center of the brow.
Both eyebrows.
Temples.
Cheekbones.
Both eyelids and the eyelashes.
Both eyes.
Orbs of sensation and warmth.
Both eyes resting back and down.
Sense both ears listening.
Feel the outer structure of the ears and deep into the inner ears.
Both ears listening.
Open and receptive to sound vibrations.
Sense the airflow at the tip of the nostrils.
Tip of the nose.
Both nostril flares.
The bridge of the nose.
Tip of the tongue.
All the way to the root of the tongue.
Feel the teeth and the gums.
Inside both cheeks.
The roof and the floor of the mouth.
Both lips.
Tip of the chin.
And the entire lower jaw.
The whole of the right leg.
The whole left leg.
Both legs together.
Both legs together.
The whole right arm.
The whole left arm.
Both arms together.
Both arms together.
The whole back of the body.
The whole front of the body.
Whole torso.
Could you divide your attention equally throughout the entire body now?
Whole physical body.
Whole body.
Luminous field of vibrating energy.
Trillions of cells vibrating together.
Breathing together.
Dancing the sacred rhythms of inward and outward.
Remaining awake and aware.
Feel your whole physical body resting.
Completely still and relaxed.
Softening and sinking.
In your mind's eye,
See your whole body relaxed and resting on the earth.
Awareness migrates to the clearing between the brows.
Third eye center.
Feel or sense or imagine the breath moving in and out from here.
Breath and presence moving in and out from your third eye center.
Sense prana riding on the breath at the throat center.
Heart center.
Breath moving in and out.
Navel center.
Pelvic center.
On your next inhalation,
Could you sense or imagine prana riding on the breath from the base of the spine to the crown of the head?
Feel prana cascades with the breath from the crown of the head to the base of the spine.
Inhaling base of the spine to crown of the head.
Exhaling crown to base.
Now begin to count your breath.
Descending from 10 to 1.
Inhale.
10.
Exhale.
10.
Inhale.
10.
Exhale.
10.
Inhale.
10.
Exhale.
9.
Counting down to 1.
If you lose track of your counting,
Just beginning again at 10.
Release.
Release.
Now resting awareness at the third eye center.
Seeing an expansive black screen before you.
Begin to welcome hypnagogic visual and audio impressions to arise here.
These may be in the form of memories or dream-like visions.
These may come in flashes of colors and patterns.
Just observe the natural arising and dissolving of this imagery.
Let your attention remain at the third eye.
Allow your attention to move to your pelvic center or your womb space just below the navel.
Allow yourself to be held unconditionally in the womb of existence.
Holding the deep potential of all that is to be born through you.
Dissolving into the nourishing darkness of the depths of the new moon.
Resting deeply here.
Let awareness migrate to your heart center.
Heart center.
Begin to call forth your sankalpa once again.
Affirming it mentally to yourself three times or more.
Or perhaps you are continuing to rest and surrender in no intention.
You may also be calling forth the following.
In my surrender,
The next step on my path is revealed.
I am open and receptive to the potential ready to be expressed through me.
Calling it in.
So be it.
And so it is.
Let it go.
Now,
Witness the unfolding.
Begin counting the breath up from 10.
Inhale 1.
Exhale 1.
Inhale 2.
Exhale 3.
Inhale 4.
Exhale 5.
Inhale 6.
Exhale 7.
Inhale 8.
Exhale 9.
Inhale 10.
Exhale 11.
Inhale 12.
Exhale 2.
Continuing up to 10.
With each breath,
Awareness rising.
Refreshed.
Renewed.
Cleansed.
Spacious.
And release.
Now,
Let go of the breath.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Relax.
Begin to become aware of the rising and falling of the breath at the diaphragm.
The breath inside the chest.
The breath inside the nostrils.
The breath outside the ears.
The breath inside the eyes.
The breath outside the mouth.
The breath inside the ears.
The breath outside the mouth.
The breath outside the eyes.
The breath outside the mouth.
Now,
Begin to sense your environment.
Noticing the sounds around you.
The quality of the air gently touching your face.
The sensation of clothes or blankets on your skin.
Fragrances in the air.
Gradually,
You can move as if you're waking up from a restful sleep.
You might bend your knees and pull them closer to your chest.
Rocking sideways gently.
Take your time savoring the liminal.
Knowing there is no rush.
Then,
Just turning to your favorite side.
Curling into a fetal position.
This is the position in which you began life.
Feel the safety,
Comfort,
And protection of the womb of existence.
Continue to stay in this deep inner experience.
Bring a deep sense of peace and contentment with you as you bring attention back to the body.
Notice how relaxed the body is.
How soft the breath is.
How relaxed the body is.
How relaxed the body is.
How relaxed the body is.
How relaxed the body is.
How quiet the mind is.
Be still and be grateful.
Know that you can easily enter here again and again.
If you're practicing this at the time of the new moon,
You might choose to free yourself from the cycle of life.
Thank you so much for being here.
It is an honor and a delight to share these techniques and practices with you.
Take good care of yourself.
I wish you all the best.
And I hope to see you again soon.
Namaste.
