It's now that time of the day to rest our heads and ease into relaxation.

This meditation can be used at any moment of the day,

To get ourselves centered,

Or before going to sleep.

For many of us,

Although this routine seems simple enough,

We often have difficulty letting go.

The experiences of the day stay long in our minds.

We ponder the events,

Recreating,

Reliving,

And envisioning time and again.

This meditation is all about releasing the day and letting go of its past to replenish and create space for the new.

Before we begin,

Find a relaxing position for yourself.

Find what feels most comfortable for you.

You may sit,

Lay down,

Or whatever you decide,

As long as it feels right for you.

As long as it feels right for you.

As we progress,

You may feel twitches,

Itches,

And other sensations as your body becomes relaxed and you become conscious of this.

Release those sensations as you need.

Let us now focus on your breathing.

Slow your breathing down by taking four slow breaths in with your nose,

Filling your lungs,

And slowly exhale.

Let's repeat this.

Take your time to relax.

Take your time to relax.

Slow your breathing down by taking four slow breaths in with your nose,

Filling your lungs,

And slowly exhale.

Do this at your own pace.

Do this at your own pace.

Continue to do this for the next few moments until you hear my voice.

Until you hear my voice.

It's possible that during this meditation,

Thoughts of the day's events will enter your mind from time to time.

If this happens,

Let them come,

And then release them.

It's good to acknowledge these thoughts,

They are there for a reason.

It's also okay to then let these thoughts go and return to your breathing,

Your anchor point.

Let's now try to relax our bodies.

Feel your body.

Feel your body.

Notice its sensations.

You may feel a slight tugging that pulls you in a direction.

Just let it be.

Let it be.

Feel your toes.

Move them gently.

Feel your ankles,

And release any tension by swirling them around.

Feel your calves.

Imagine the muscles relaxing and move up towards your knees.

Feel their roundness and envision a glowing light hovering just above them.

Feel your thighs,

The length of the muscles from your knees to your hips.

Imagine your hands soothing them with warmth as they continue to relax.

Let's move up to your hips.

See a ring of golden yellow light sending warmth around them.

Notice how good this feels.

Notice how good this feels.

Now I'd like you to notice your abdomen area,

The place where many emotions are felt.

If you are feeling tension here,

Release the tension simply by relaxing the muscles there.

Relax the muscles.

Continue to breathe deeply in through your nose,

Filling your lungs slowly.

Hold the breath and notice this moment and the stillness it contains.

Breathe out slowly whilst feeling your abdomen relax and release the tension.

Continue to breathe.

Continue to breathe.

Move your sense of awareness to your stomach and relax.

Move onto your chest and feel your breath as your chest expands.

Release any tension you have there.

Continue to breathe.

Notice your fingers.

Stretch them if you desire.

Twist your wrists and feel a warm,

Relaxing sensation move up your arms to your shoulders.

Feel the warm orange rings of light embrace your shoulders and penetrate their life force.

Continue to breathe.

Continue to breathe.

Let us notice your neck.

Simply move your neck from side to side and feel the ease and side muscles relax.

Move your centre of awareness to your entire head,

Your ears,

Your face,

Your forehead and up and over the top of your head.

Feel the warmth and light entering from the top of your head and flowing through to your shoulders,

Your shoulders,

Your chest,

Your arms,

Your stomach,

Your hands and then feel how it pours over to your abdomen,

Your hips,

Your thighs,

Your knees,

Your calves,

Your ankles and right back to your toes.

This sensation,

This life energy is always flowing within you.

It can be called upon at any time you need to relax,

To replenish and to reconnect you with the universal source of which you are made of.

Feel rested and calm as you listen to these words.

This moment which you have created is for you.

In this moment you may give yourself permission to release the day's events.

You may allow happy thoughts to enter your mind,

Thoughts of bliss,

Thoughts of love and of those we love,

Thoughts of gratitude and good health.

Despite what may have taken place today,

You may now come to understand that what is,

Is,

But what is does not have to remain.

Our attention to what is keeps that what is ever present.

In order to release the day,

You may look at what you desire to come.

Understand that the universe hosts many parallels.

Events,

Situations,

Emotions and feelings that occur at the same time.

When you are feeling stressed about one thing,

Allow yourself to be happy about something else.

Yes,

This you can do at any moment and without guilt.

What is,

Is and what can be remains warmly open to you.

Releasing the day is all about the art of allowing the new.

You need not hold on to situations that cause you worry or stress.

You are allowed to let these go and take rest of them.

Our universe is friendly and it has always been if you will just play your role and be friendly and loving to yourself too.

What you desire,

What you feel will always be brought to you.

What you desire,

What you feel will always be brought to you.

Therefore,

Allow yourself this moment of rest and it will reveal itself through you and to you.

Continue to breathe.

Feel your lungs deeply.

Relax and allow yourself the release.

Let me repeat these words to you again.

Let me repeat these words to you again.

This moment which you have created is for you.

In this moment,

You may give yourself permission to release the day's events.

This is one of the best voices I have found in a long time to help guide oneself to a most beautiful pleasant place within, where body mind and spirit find blissful balance and centeredness. (Oh and I loved the gentle repeating at times and the direction. I’d follow you anywhere! :)
