Now close your eyes and gently sink into the surface you are sitting or lying on.
Allow that surface to fully support your body.
And as you lie there bring your awareness to your breath.
Notice your breath as you breathe in and out.
You don't need to do anything or change anything.
The breath knows exactly what to do.
So just allow yourself to breathe in and out.
Bring your awareness to your thoughts.
And like the breath just notice your thoughts coming and going.
We don't need to engage the thoughts.
Just watch them rise and then drift away.
Bring your awareness to the sensations in your body.
Notice any discomfort or any tension or anything else that wants to come into your awareness.
And like the breath just be aware of the sensations in your body.
Let them rise into your awareness and then just release them.
Now I invite you to sense,
Feel or otherwise know that you are on a very large beautiful leaf floating down a stream.
And this stream is taking you deep into your subconscious mind.
Ten drifting softly floating gently.
Nine going deeper into your subconscious mind.
Deep into a place of power and inner wisdom.
Eight gently drifting softly floating.
Seven going ten times deeper,
Deeper than before.
Six floating.
Five drifting deeper and deeper.
Four deep within your subconscious mind going deeper,
Deeper.
Four.
Three even deeper than before.
Two softly drifting deeper.
One you have arrived deep within your subconscious mind.
And as you look around you can feel that this is a place of great power and great inner wisdom.
And as you look around what do you notice about this place?
What do you see?
What do you hear?
What do you feel?
And as you rest here feeling secure,
Safe and strong,
Notice in front of you that there is a door or a gate or perhaps even a beautiful waterfall.
And through it your inner child comes forward.
Our inner child is typically between the ages of three and seven.
How old is your inner child standing before you?
Welcome your little self to come forward to share this place of power and safety with you.
Let him or her know they are welcome and how very pleased to see them you are.
As you sit with your inner child I invite you to remember the first time that an adult or the circumstances around you made you feel scared,
Bad or sad.
Allow that first memory of feeling scared,
Bad or sad to come to mind.
What does your inner child want you to know about that experience?
What do they want you to know that they might not have been able to share with you before?
Ask your inner child how your adult self can support and be there for them now.
Can your adult self give them that support now?
And how does your inner child feel about your answer?
If it's comfortable for you invite your inner child to move closer and give her or him a hug.
You might even invite your inner child up onto your lap where you can hold them close and give them your unconditional love.
As you embrace and love your inner child can you see how beautiful,
How pure and how innocent your little self is?
As you sit closely with your inner child you might tell him or her some things they've never heard before.
You might say,
I love you.
I hear you.
I see you.
I adore you.
You didn't deserve this.
I am so sorry.
I forgive you.
I thank you.
I know you did your best and I love you.
I am here for you and I promise to listen and support you because together we are stronger.
And now with one last embrace watch your inner child return back through the waterfall or the gate or the door knowing that you can connect any time in the future that you wish to.
And on the count of five it will be time for our journey to come to an end.
And so we return back to full conscious awareness.
One becoming more awake and more energized.
Two feeling more empowered by the insights and the connections we've made.
Three having a deeper understanding of our past and our present.
Four wiggling your fingers and toes and stretching a bit.
Five eyes wide open feeling energized and awake and grateful for the journey,
The insights and the love that you are.
