In life, we often focus more on thoughts and emotions than on physical senses. How are we to answer the big questions of life if we haven't fully explored our own simplest physical abilities. Welcome!

This is going to be a short meditation about the sense of life.

You can participate in this meditation from any place and any position.

You are not required to close your eyes or sit comfortably.

You can walk around,

You can even take notes during this meditation.

We normally meditate to decrease stress and anxiety,

To tune into something bigger,

To connect with the universe,

With the divine.

Some people meditate just to maintain their mental health.

But we all somehow come to this question,

What is the sense of life?

I'm not going to give an answer in this meditation.

I invite you to feel it.

I invite you to look at this phrase,

Sense of life,

From a different perspective.

Not from intellectual sense,

But from the physical sense.

Sensations of life.

Let us pay attention to five things that we can see.

If your eyes are closed and your space is dark,

You can just see things in your imagination,

Things that you know are there in your surrounding.

And if you have your eyes open,

Then please observe five separate objects or living beings around you and name them to yourself.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four and five.

This is the sense of your eyesight.

I am grateful that I can see these five things.

Isn't it wonderful that there are so many more things around you?

Isn't it a miracle?

Let us concentrate on four things that we can touch.

The sense,

Sense of life.

Touch four different textures,

Objects around you,

Maybe different parts of your body that feel differently.

One,

Two,

Three and four.

Have you found different textures,

Different temperatures?

I hope you have found them with gratitude and really concentrating on them.

Imagine how many more sensations there are to life.

Now let us imagine or hear three different sounds.

One,

It was the sound of my breath.

What was it for you?

Number one.

Number two,

Maybe something in your surrounding.

In my surrounding now,

There is a sound of life,

Quite chaotic life,

Sound maybe not so welcome,

But I accept this sound with gratitude,

The noise even,

And I can filter through the noise and discover sound number three.

There are so many more sounds.

If you are fortunate to have an ability,

Ability to go to nature sometimes,

To connect with nature,

How wonderful this is,

You can remember sounds of it.

Now let us concentrate on two different things that we can smell,

Two different smells.

It may be more difficult to find in your surrounding,

Maybe this sense isn't one that you use so often,

But try to distinguish two different smells and accept them again with gratitude.

Whatever they are,

They are here making a part of life.

And again imagine how many more different smells are there in the world,

How many smells that are inviting you,

How many pleasant smells out there for each season,

For each part of the world.

And finally,

Let us concentrate on one thing that we can taste.

Do you have possibility to taste something now?

Be calm and don't rush for it.

There is a taste just there in your mouth.

It is also a part of life.

Maybe there is a glass of water nearby and you can taste it.

One taste out of so many.

These were five senses of life and the meditation is coming to the end.

As you go on with gratitude and hopefully sensing your life as a wonder,

Contemplate the possibility of some other sense for which we may not find any physical object to touch or hear or feel,

But there is something else,

Some other sense of unity,

Of energy,

Of energy that unites us.

Thank you for sharing this time with me and I hope that your life is filled with all the different senses.
