This practice supports you to work with areas of intensity in the body without feeling overwhelmed. It helps you to explore the body sensations of tension and pleasantness with curiosity. It offers a way of working with painful regions by titrating between more easeful feelings.

The body is this beautiful superhighway of feelings and sensations and it can be holding quite a lot.

If we check in with it at various times,

We might notice different things.

Just for right now,

Letting your body be just as it is.

And without trying too hard,

What are the first sensations that you can observe in your body?

Are there any parts of your body that are calling to you?

Usually the regions that are calling to us might be painful or tight,

Screaming for attention.

If there is one part of your body that is screaming for attention,

Are you able to visit that place?

And if you can,

Just noticing what is there with that pain or that tightness.

Bring some curiosity to what you're sensing there.

Where does the pain reside?

Is it consistent or does it ebb and flow?

Can you feel the edges of where the pain ends and the neutral area begins?

And then seeing if it is too intense to feel into this pain,

That you can notice the edge of it and just feel into the more relaxed parts of your body after just touching into the pain.

You don't have to stay there for very long.

It's a titration that can help us balance working with our pain,

Titration between feeling the tense,

Painful area and then going to a more easeful,

Relaxed part of the body.

There's nothing that you need to feel or force yourself to feel if it's too much.

So whatever it may be,

Whether it's a tightness in the forehead or a gripping in the belly,

Just dropping in this question of what does this pain point to?

What does this pain point to?

Perhaps it's some pattern or habit or maybe something underneath that,

Some emotional experience that might need some closer consideration.

And although we went to the place or places in our bodies that were calling to us,

Now let's see if we can explore some places that feel easeful or relaxed or pleasant.

You might notice a soft tingling at your fingertips or heaviness in your legs.

So often we forget that our bodies are alive with sensation and not just one but many.

Where does the body feel good,

Healthy,

Rested?

Even if it's just a breath that you can notice flourishing throughout the body.

Bringing into awareness all the sensations of the body,

Not just the loudest,

Helps us to understand and appreciate and balance ourselves and not fall into one specific feeling all the time.

Just continue to play around with this feeling into different areas of the body and noticing what's there and being able to use the more pleasant,

Peaceful parts of your body to stabilize those intense parts.
