Hello and welcome to this meditation for connecting to the present moment and cultivating a sense of okayness.
My name is Alyssa Maddox and thank you so much for taking this time for yourself to step away from your day and slow down the mind.
If you are fearing the unknown or experiencing anxiety during this radical time to be a human on planet earth,
No,
You are not alone.
And wherever you find yourself right now,
Whether it be seated,
Lying down,
Standing,
Or walking,
Welcome yourself to the present moment.
Welcome to now.
Welcome yourself here exactly as you are.
All of you is welcome.
There's nowhere to go and there's nothing to do other than be here exactly as you are.
And welcome in a sense of well-being and okayness with this moment.
Now more than ever is a brilliant time to find presence,
To slow down from our normal day-to-day routine,
To fully appreciate the little things in life that we can take for granted,
To check in with ourselves,
To welcome the mystery of life,
To let go of things we can't control,
To embrace change and transition,
To find gratitude for all that we have.
Time to show up the ideal version of ourselves and grow together as one cohesive planet.
It's time to get creative and wake up parts of our inner self that have been forgotten.
It's time to play.
It's time to tell our loved ones how much they mean to us and truly appreciate every moment we have been given.
This life and everything it encompasses is a gift.
It's time to thank the universe for every day we've lived so far and every breath we've taken up until this very moment.
It's time to come back to the present and repeat to ourselves,
I am okay.
To fully welcome yourself to this moment,
Take the deepest breath that you've taken today.
Inhale and fully fill up the belly,
Chest and head,
Pausing for a brief moment at the top and then exhaling from the head,
Chest and belly,
Fully releasing.
Take a few more breaths just like that,
Fully filling up the whole body on the inhale and releasing any stagnant energy on the exhale.
Let the breath breathe the body and let the body breathe the breath.
Notice how the breath brings you back to the present moment.
Now let your thoughts like helium balloons sail and float up and away.
Notice any strings you may be holding onto,
Any thoughts you don't want to let go of.
Simply noticing and observing.
Now imagine you are taking an elevator from your head to your heart,
Dropping into a feeling state.
Not feeling from the thinking mind but rather feeling from the heart center.
Trust your experience and remember there is no wrong way to feel.
All feelings are valid and all feelings are temporary.
If your mind wanders,
Let the thought like a balloon float up and away.
Then invite your attention back to your heart center.
Take five full deep breaths in your heart center and feel this moment.
Notice all points that are touching the surface beneath you.
Notice all points that are in contact with the ground.
Now feel sensation in your heart and recognize how your heart is always beating and your breath is always breathing.
And gratitude for your heart and your breath for keeping you alive.
Now feel sensation in your hands both left and right.
Feeling your feet both left and right.
Now sensation in hands and feet together.
Feeling sensation in your arms both left and right.
Feeling sensation in your legs both left and right.
Now feeling sensation in both arms and legs together.
Sensing now your torso,
Face,
Neck and head.
And now sensing the whole body as one.
The whole body.
Welcoming the whole body to this very moment.
Check in with yourself.
Check in with your body and check in with your breath.
Let the body and breath know that you are listening.
The universe makes no mistakes.
No,
We are exactly where we're supposed to be,
Whether we like it or not.
It's all perfectly imperfect.
Everything truly happens for a reason.
So trust the universe's plan and let go of fear.
The message is quite clear.
It's time to slow down and find the present.
Welcome the intention,
I am okay,
For the remainder of this day.
If you find yourself fearing tomorrow or worrying about yesterday,
Come back to the breath and find the present moment here and now.
If you find yourself getting caught in a wormhole of thought,
Use the breath as a tool to come back to the body and come back to the present.
Repeat I am breathing in.
I am breathing out.
You are okay and embrace this sense of okayness.
Remember you are not alone.
As Albert Einstein once said,
The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious.
So welcome in the mystery of life and embrace the unknown.
We are in this together.
Thank you so much for taking this time for yourself.
Thank you for how you show up in the world.
Thank you for all that you do.
And thank you for being you.
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
Namaste.
