Flow on.
This is a divine opportunity to slow down,
To slow the pace of our busyness,
To slow the pace of our breath,
To briefly release the seduction of distractions,
To-do lists,
Deadlines and agendas.
Our single-minded intention is to slow down.
We begin by slowing down the breath.
One of the ways to do this is to focus on the exhalation and allow each out-breath to be slow,
Long,
Complete.
And the inhalation will happen of its own volition and fill our lungs to capacity before we exhale again that long,
Slow,
Deep,
Deliberate,
Full exhale.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Just for a moment,
Do nothing,
Just breathe.
Is there any other body part that you can release more fully,
Untangle,
Unclench,
To untether you from the busyness,
The hurry and the worry.
Enjoy the release that comes as every part of your body unclenches,
Uncurls,
Lets go.
Releasing all the body stresses and strain,
We come into sync and rhythm with the pace of the universe and instead of rushing to the next moment,
We inhale and savor this moment.
And as we come to present-mindedness,
There is nowhere else we need to be,
Nothing else we need to be doing right now,
But savoring this moment and breathing it in,
Breathing it out,
Without hurry or worry.
Just breathe and be.
Let go of concern for what's coming next,
For what remains undone.
Just give yourself the gift of the release of hurrying,
Rushing,
Racing.
Just be,
Just breathe.
Let the scuttling,
Rushing thoughts scurrying across your mind slow down.
Don't chase after them,
Just let them go by and return your attention to your slow breath as you exhale all the air completely,
Slowly,
Deliberately.
Let this be your North Star,
Let this be your anchor,
Guiding you,
Grounding you into the present,
When there's nowhere else to be.
Slow down.
Let go.
Feel the beauty and gift of slowing down.
Marinate in it for a moment.
For some of us,
It's such a rare gift,
So embrace it,
Appreciate it.
Savor the gift of slowing down.
As Marianne Williamson reminds us,
We're not doing less,
We're doing more as we slow down.
We're going slower in order to go deeper.
Let yourself go there now,
Slowly moving to the center of your being,
To that place of peace.
Feel there for a moment as you breathe in and breathe out,
Slowly in this space of stillness.
Let this be your anchor,
Guiding you into the present,
When there's nowhere else to you you They say less is more So as we give our attention to slowing our breath to relaxing into this moment we can return to our activities rested,
Clear-minded,
Unhurried and then accomplish even more than we anticipated with less effort and from this heightened awareness we slowly begin our journey in consciousness back to this time and place preparing to return to the activities of our day.
Let the breath usher you back and then bring your attention up behind the back of your eyes bring your hands to prayer position with your thumbs on your sternum and take in another slow breath in and then even slower exhale out from that unhurried centered place in me to that unhurried centered place in you I acknowledge the divine and I bow.
