Live Event - Body As A Tool For Inner Transformation
by Raj Gorsia
This is the recording from the live event I hosted on 20th August 2021. I speak about how to use this amazing tool called the body to enhance our inner transformation. Historically, I thought the body was all about mirror image, but in the last 10 years, I have realised that it is an amazing tool that can be used to enhance us and support the release of energy and also calm us. Power is poise and aliveness. I talk about the elements of fire and water and how to create them in the body.
Transcript
Alright,
It is recording.
So body as a tool.
Why am I saying body as a tool?
And firstly if you've not been to one of my sessions before put something like a yes in the chat just so I know.
I'm seeing a lot of familiar faces already and some new.
Body as a tool.
And I want to give you a background about me first before I just dive into this and you're like,
Who is this Raj guy?
Why are you saying these things?
What's his story?
I started really getting into health and fitness around 10 years ago.
But why I did that is because I had so many challenges with my mind.
So many challenges with confidence,
Self-esteem,
Not feeling I'm good enough,
Always comparing.
And there was this thing that I had called social anxiety.
I don't know if anyone has social anxiety or can relate to those two words.
Just those two words alone would bring chills up my spine for most of my life.
So there was just a ton of inner challenges let's say.
And I was really skinny as well.
I was really like thin.
So that didn't help.
And then I thought yeah let me work on my body.
Let me get big and strong.
So I started lifting weights first.
That's the only reason why I went to work out.
I was like I don't need to run,
I don't need to do anything to feel healthy,
I just want to get big.
I want to be a beast.
It's to see Arnold Schwarzenegger and be like yeah I want to be like that.
So that was how I got into this whole body stuff 10 years ago.
And I felt good.
I felt great.
I was getting stronger.
I was looking good in the mirror.
I'd look in the mirror and be like wow look I built this from nothing.
I felt so proud of myself.
Literally from nothing.
You can't buy a good physique right?
There's nothing you can do about this apart from putting in the work.
And that's going to link into what I'm going to come into later.
But anyway then I realized like the only reason I'm doing all of this stuff is to feel content with myself on the inside.
But the working out was making me feel good to an extent.
So I started really getting interested in like what's actually happening to me when I work out?
Like how is,
Why do I feel this?
And then there's these things called like endorphins right?
When you work out yeah all of the hormones are rushing through your body.
Feels great.
You have a good glow and a buzz.
And it was just,
It just became an addiction for a while.
Healthy addiction but also unhealthy because it became like oh I'm going to,
Every time I feel like worried about these fears and not confident on the inside,
Let me go run,
Let me go run and run and run,
Let me lift some weights.
And then I got into more like cardiovascular type of work.
That made me feel even more better on the inside because you have that sweat,
Your stress is just gone after a run or I used to do things like boxing,
I used to sprint a lot.
So it became like this thing that I did every time I felt stressed.
Every time these like inner challenges of confidence and our social anxiety came up,
It was like okay hey let me run or lift.
I feel okay.
It numbed me really.
Numbing effect.
That's why I said it's unhealthy because as healthy as the body was becoming,
The inside,
What about that?
Like it was a distraction technique to some extent.
And I realized this.
So one day I,
Well I guess by chance actually I walked into this yoga class and can you imagine like me,
Bigger than how I look now,
Walking into this yoga class and there wasn't any men there,
None.
I was like okay what is this?
This isn't really exercise,
Why am I here?
Tried it out and it felt great.
Even though I was a massive guy who was trying,
Couldn't with my body and I thought yoga was about flexibility,
It felt great.
It slowed me down.
So I continued doing it.
Because I was like this feels different to what the rush of exercise feels like.
So different.
This is just slowing down.
And my muscles stretching rather than shortening.
Which is what like intense workouts do to you.
Shorten them.
So I was finding space using my body.
So I carried on and I got really into it.
I was still the only man in the class.
I didn't care.
It was just awesome.
So that was about 7 years ago actually.
Yoga fitness 10 years ago.
And then I started discovering about my breath.
Because my yoga teacher,
Awesome,
I'm still in contact with her.
The first thing she said to me,
As a guy who didn't know anything about this stuff,
She said Raj,
If you are not synchronizing your breath to your movement,
You are doing gymnastics not yoga.
And I said what do you mean?
So she started teaching me how to synchronize breath with movement and how to use the breath to release.
How to use the in-breath to open up.
Open up the chest for example.
And the out-breath to release,
Let go.
And I started doing it.
I started synchronizing the breath.
It was hard.
It was really really hard.
For me,
Like I said before,
This bulky guy.
But something started shifting.
When I did that,
That's when it all shifted.
Because it wasn't gymnastics anymore.
It wasn't exercise anymore.
It was being with my breath,
Using this machine inside.
The breath linked with the body.
So ever since,
Any time I do yoga,
There's nothing else that I'm focusing on but the breath synchronizing with movement.
And that's been a massive massive game changer.
So if you're doing yoga,
Awesome.
If you're synchronizing the breath,
Even better.
Game changer.
Real game changer.
Anyway,
I'm going to cut that long story short.
After that,
I almost picked up this other side of myself.
One side of me was still in this fiery mode.
Fired up,
Doing high intensity stuff.
It made me feel alive.
And the other side of me was slowing down.
It was like fire with water.
The opposites.
This is when things massively changed.
And then after a while I started reading about this stuff,
Learning about it more.
And I got into personal development.
Reading about the mind,
Connection with the spirit and the body.
And then I realized throughout all of these spiritual teachings,
There's always this thing about opposites.
Life there's opposites,
Right?
So what I started doing was mastering the fiery side of me and then mastering the cooling side.
When those are in balance,
You're like another level of human basically.
Not even human.
Because then you become so good at action,
Doing,
But then so good at nothingness.
Slow peace.
So even in your body,
We have a left brain and a right brain.
In your heart there is a left and a right.
If we go to yogic science,
They say that there's the sun and the moon in us.
So when I say body as a tool for transformation,
This is the fundamental of it.
If you can master your fire energy and then your water energy,
Wow there's nothing that is impossible.
Because you become calm and you can be fired up.
And here's the thing,
You look around insight timer,
You'll notice people doing this in different ways.
Some people will talk about mindfulness and zen and slowing down and that's all about yeah there's water side,
There's being mode.
But then in other places,
They will talk about this action and sometimes there will be things like fire,
Breath of fire,
Breath practice.
That's all about the fire,
Turning it up inside of you.
So when I say using the body as a tool,
It's like we have coffee and caffeine to wake us up.
But we can do the same thing with the breath,
It fires you up.
So I don't know if anyone's ever tried pranayama practice.
Anyone tried it?
Put it in the chat.
Pranayama which these days,
Some people call it breath work.
Yes yes.
Okay awesome.
With that you're really just using your body as a tool.
That's one of the facets of it.
And when you think about what's actually going on in this breath practice.
I haven't needed to take any course to become a breath work practitioner or anything like that.
Because really it's just,
If you understand these fundamentals,
You become your own breath work practitioner.
In the breath work there will be certain techniques to just fire yourself up and then it will be slowing down.
Same with yoga,
There's different types of yoga which is like really to wake your system up,
To transform.
And then sometimes it's just okay,
Let's ease and slow down.
So you see like,
If you master those fundamentals,
However that looks for you,
Then you're winning basically.
And that's the simple way to use body as a tool.
For some people it might be,
It still might be exercise,
But having the balance of the being mode as well.
And the thing is like too much of the being mode,
And you become this person who doesn't want to do anything,
Who has no fire in them,
Who has like,
You know,
You don't feel like taking action,
You're not fueled,
You're not ready to just go for something.
Because you're too relaxed,
You're too slow,
Sloth levels.
So that's why I think there has to be a balance.
If you're too fired up,
If you've got too much fire inside you,
It's non-stop.
It's non-stop,
Like you don't have any time to just relax.
In the chat I'd love to know which one do you feel you are more of in general.
I know this varies day to day,
But which one do you think you are more of,
Fire or water?
Do you find it hard to relax and slow down,
Or do you find it hard to take action and get going?
So,
Yeah,
Are you fire or water?
Yeah,
Fire,
Yeah,
More like a gentle fire.
Yeah,
That was me as well,
For sure.
Sloth mode,
Yeah.
Yeah that was me for sure.
And here's the thing,
Like,
In most people's lives,
We're really in the thinking world.
We're in the thinking world of rush and chasing time,
You know,
Constant chasing time.
Oh,
I've got to do this next.
Or the mind comes in and it just,
It possesses us.
But then we're firing,
We're thinking,
What do I need to do?
I need to react.
Panic.
That was me for sure.
Too much fire and you get burnt,
Right?
So I'm not going to tell you exactly what to do because I don't want to prescribe and align to certain things because really it's about your life,
It's about who you are as a person.
What things light you up,
What things slow you down.
And that's what I do,
Right?
That's why I became a coach and a mentor.
More of a coach though.
Because I don't need to tell everyone exactly do this,
Do that,
Just because Raj did this.
It's about figuring out your master plan for you,
Right?
This was my story,
This is how I got into this stuff.
Some people is like,
Yeah gardening,
There we go,
Look,
Gardening,
Claire just wrote.
Gardening.
That's moving your body as well,
Right?
Slows you down.
And here's the other thing about using your body in this.
When you're in your body,
You're not in your head.
When your body is engaged and you're feeling your body engaged,
You're not really in your head,
Right?
And these days there's a lot of things like somatic practices,
That's become the new buzzword,
Somatic therapy and just a lot of focus on the body.
Because you realize,
Look,
There's this head and it feels like the thoughts are in our head,
Right?
When we're thinking,
When we're stressed,
It feels like it's all here.
Get headaches sometimes.
But then we forget,
Like this,
Look,
Below that,
There's this whole thing here.
And you know when like people say this thing about spirit,
The word spirit,
That's a whole body experience.
You know when you're like walking,
Look,
Claire again wrote,
When we're in nature,
Walking,
Your whole body is feeling it.
The movement of your feet on the ground,
Just the swaying of your shoulders,
You know,
That puts you in a hypnotic state.
I don't know where I read about this but it's been,
I think they've studied it,
Neuroscientists have studied that when you're walking,
Just the act of moving forward,
It feels like your life is moving forward.
It literally feels like you're moving forward in life because that hypnotic motion and the way it relates to your thoughts is just powerful.
So yeah,
Going for walks is amazing.
I don't even run anymore.
I don't feel like running anymore.
I used to run a lot,
Like I used to run every,
At least every week.
I used to weight lift three or four times a week.
I used to do boxing once a week.
I used to do yoga and meditation on top of that.
And it's like all of that's fizzled out because walking is so much nicer.
It slows you down.
Other things like Qigong,
People like Qigong,
That's an energy practice that gets you in your body but you start again building up the fire and water energies.
Dancing yes,
Kathy,
That's awesome.
And there's this thing called ecstatic dancing.
I don't know if anyone's heard it.
It's funny because one of my clients said to me,
He's like Raj,
I think I'm going to try ecstatic dancing.
And I was like,
What do you mean?
What is that?
And he sent me a video and it's just like completely letting your body free,
Just listening to all of this,
Like just this like interesting music and you just move your body based on whatever it's feeling is awesome.
And maybe some of you guys do this already.
If you're,
If you like to dance,
Dancing's not natural to me.
So this ecstatic dancing stuff is super cool.
If you haven't tried it,
Like give it a go because it's fun.
It really is really fun.
And even like sound,
Like the sound that they,
That comes from ecstatic music from the dancing,
It hits you.
It hits your body again.
Like the way,
If I related to Indian music,
For example,
The way it's being constructed,
And I never knew this all my life being an Indian man,
I never knew any of the wisdom behind most of this Indian stuff.
Right.
I knew the traditions,
But I didn't know all of that.
I didn't feel the experience.
One thing is like,
Um,
Logically understanding or being told by a parent,
This is,
This is good for this,
But that doesn't make sense.
You don't want to do stuff based on logic.
But recently in the past couple of years,
I really felt in my body,
Like listening to certain Indian music,
It hits you in the,
In the heart.
It literally feels like it's vibrating in the stomach and the heart in,
In all of these areas.
And there's this whole system,
This whole chakra system,
Right?
That's the whole body experience.
It's going down your spine and really and truly what yoga is,
Is stimulating the spine.
That's why is awkward,
Strange positions.
Because it's trying to activate these,
These,
These chakras,
Right?
It's trying to create energy through there.
And that blew my mind after as well.
I was like,
Whoa,
Okay.
Okay.
Now it makes sense why they've,
Why they told me to go in this upside down,
Twisted,
Um,
Very uncomfortable position.
Because it's using your body,
But then it's also slowing down your mind as well.
So there's different types of movements.
I also do Kundalini yoga.
I've been doing that for a while and that's very intense as well because it's using breath,
It's using,
It's using movement,
Using chants,
It's using music.
It's all hitting the body.
So when I say body as a tool,
Yeah,
It's not,
It's not the standard things that you might expect like exercise and,
And you know,
Like your doctor would say,
Your doctor would say,
Yeah,
Go and go and do some exercise,
Uh,
Go,
Go to the gym and you know,
The,
Just the typical surface level stuff,
That stuff's good for having a generally healthy body.
Right?
And that's what I was doing before.
Generally healthy body.
That's,
That's great to keep your heart healthy.
Just the physical frame,
Right?
To keep your muscles moving.
Yeah,
That's really important.
That's why the doctors recommend it.
But to a deeper level,
To awaken your energy inside,
There's other things you can do,
Like I mentioned,
To activate the,
The fire and the water.
Because that,
That becomes fuel for transformation.
That's why I made this session because it's fuel that's going to help you to see things differently that's going to help you to have more like vigor for life,
Excitement.
That's going to help you want to do the scary things that you don't want to do.
It's going to help you slow down and sleep better.
It's going to help you have like these,
These wisdom moments.
If your body's in alignment and you've,
You've done the hard work of building that fuel,
That all of these other things become much easier.
If your,
If your body is eating crap and it's not moving,
It's not stimulated,
It's going to be very hard for you to have spiritual growth.
Well I don't know,
I don't know if that's true to be honest,
But that's just,
That's just my perspective.
I don't know if that's true at all,
But yeah,
That's,
That's,
I,
I believe that anyway.
I believe why not make it give yourself an advantage by starting to unlock and awaken this energy that you can do,
Right?
It's in your control to have like spiritual growth.
Someone said to me once when I was about to start working with a client,
I said to her,
What would you like to work on in the next six months?
And she laughed and she was like,
Raj,
I want to have a spiritual awakening.
And I was like,
Okay,
What does that mean?
That's a buzzword that floats around.
What does that mean?
What does that look like?
And she said,
Well,
Just to become more calm and feel excited about life and to access,
You know,
This higher wisdom that people talk about in books,
Like the power of now.
All these books about it,
Right?
All these books about enlightenment,
Buddhism,
Personal development,
It's great to gain that knowledge.
But what I've realized is that if you use the body,
Then you,
You become that.
You become that and then you read in a book and you're like,
Oh,
That makes sense now.
Because you're actively practicing rather than just reading,
Right?
So when I say body is a tool,
What I'm really saying is practicing,
Practicing and creating the fuel for yourself.
Because for example,
Like if you really want peace or you want to feel energized,
Then why don't you practice that?
Why don't you do that?
When you do stuff that puts you towards that,
Right?
Instead of just like reading about it or,
You know,
Knowledge,
Like knowledge is actually,
This is my take on it anyway.
Knowledge is actually painful sometimes.
Because there's so many people who message me and say,
Raj,
I've read these books and I understand the theory but,
You know,
I don't know,
Nothing's changing for my life.
I understand why I have these challenges with anxiety.
I've read about it.
It says everything about that I get.
But,
You know,
I'm stuck.
I'm having these fears,
I know where they come from,
I'm stuck.
I want to do this in life.
I know exactly what it takes to do this.
We have the internet these days so it's easy,
Right?
We can figure anything out.
So it's never about information.
It's about transformation.
It's about actually taking action and doing stuff.
So the body is amazing because it allows you to use it to take action.
Whenever I work with someone I say to them,
If this is your goal,
How do we align your body to it?
So for example,
Someone says I want to feel like excited for life.
I don't have anything to look forward to anymore.
So imagine you're putting that into your morning routine somehow.
You're doing something that gives you an excitement.
You're using your breath.
You're manipulating really.
The things we already have inside us,
You're manipulating it.
Then you wake up and you have this buzz in your day.
And then it's just about,
Okay,
I'm feeling energy.
Now I get to use it.
I've got all of the things I need.
Now I just take action.
I do stuff.
And then whatever the goal or desire was happens.
So that's one part of it.
And the other part I'm going to come onto in a moment.
I want to take a pause.
Body,
Energy body,
Some people call it these days,
They call it the energy body.
Which really is,
I guess,
I guess it is the term that is taken from yoga,
Energy body.
The pranic body,
Chi,
Life force,
Whatever you want to call that.
That's the layer beneath just physical.
It's the,
You can call it spiritual energy if you want as well.
Whatever suits you.
It's just the layer beneath,
Just the simple physical,
I have an arm and that this is an arm and that's it.
Or I have a physical heart organ.
The organ is a thing that pumps blood for my physical body.
But then beneath that there's this heart which,
Where you feel excited for life.
You can call that chakra if you wish.
But sometimes I don't even like to use those words because it muddies and it gets confusing sometimes.
So I want to take a break and I want to ask for some questions.
I think there's 86 people here.
What questions do you guys have?
I've seen people pressing the heart button.
So that means at some point you were like,
Oh that resonates.
So what insights have you had so far?
What has been useful?
And what other questions do you have around this?
If you've been listening up to now from the beginning and you haven't left yet,
Yeah there's probably something that has taken your interest.
So put something in the chat.
Love to hear what's going on with you guys.
And the thing is once someone puts something in the chat then everyone else is like getting fired up.
It's that shared wisdom coming through from everyone.
Ruth said,
Ruth you're in an awkward yoga position as you're listening.
Awesome.
Zumba is fun says Kelly.
Zumba is awesome.
It's funny.
You know it's such an awesome,
It's such a great idea because you're really just having fun.
LP says swimming.
Yeah that's it,
Swimming focusing on breath.
That's magical actually.
That's epic.
Because you're in water as well.
There's even better.
Knowledge is painful.
Yes knowledge is very painful.
Knowing something it's like,
Oh I know this.
The amount of times people say to me,
I already know this but you know.
And me as well.
I'm not here sitting on a like above anyone and saying look at me I've got everything figured out.
No I'm still human.
These are just things I've learned.
The breathing insight when it comes to any form of exercise.
Yeah that's it.
When you're breathing there's no way for you to not be present when you're like really aware of your breath.
You access presence.
And when you get really into like how is your body moving with your breath.
There's just something so powerful about it.
Light bulb moment.
Yeah I'd love to hear what your light bulb moment was Kathy.
So that's that.
Body is a tool for transformation.
Because when you generate this energy it can be used for a few things.
These words called healing is shared a lot these days.
It's become a really popular word.
Healing of past or something that's happened.
If you've got this energy in the tank that will get directed through your body to these healing purposes.
That's mind blowing isn't it?
Like if you think about it really the energy is coming from your core in this area your stomach.
It's all getting generated from here.
The powerhouse.
And it's so logical because when you eat it goes there as well.
So it's so logical that if you turn it into the chakra system the chakra is located in that area as well.
Because then you have this store of energy and that can be used for whatever purpose.
Healing purposes of the past,
Destroying these fears or it can be used for creative purposes.
I want to make something new.
Whichever way you want to go.
So that's why I think it's important to generate this energy.
Because if you're empty,
Imagine you're empty and you're feeling low and down and tired.
What's the odds of you having transformations and breakthroughs?
It's a lot harder because your body has to deal with the physical challenges that you're having like tiredness or not enough sleep or not enough physical energy.
That's why in yoga the first layer is the physical layer.
And then after that is the energy body and the mind.
Even if you look at us as humans,
We have to sort out that survival part first,
The physical part.
And that means getting enough sleep or rest let's say.
That means not being overly worked in our body,
Not having all these pains.
Once you work on that,
General health,
Then you can access like much deeper potential.
So that's why it's still important to keep your physical body healthy of course.
But if your physical body is like,
If you're not getting enough sleep and good foods,
Then yeah it's harder for you to grow on the inside.
And I have faced this so many times.
And here's the thing,
Typically yogis of past would fast themselves for many days to say hey you know I'm much bigger than this body and this mind.
And I've done this as well.
I fast actually every two weeks because it allows me to again remind myself that I don't have to have this food for a day or two.
I can survive.
But it humbles you because for example if you feel sick,
You've got a cold or a flu or whatever,
You're weak,
Tired.
From that place it's really hard to work on your inner transformation.
So that's why I say movement is useful but then also foods.
And I'm not going to go into depth with foods because I'm not the kind of person who's going to say yeah you have to eat specific diets and follow this plan and only eat greens and do this on a Tuesday and have this kind of juice once every four days and do this and you know it's just too much.
I don't want to live like that and most people don't.
Most people don't want this like OCD.
We want to live fluid and we want to live like free.
The only rules I really have are to eat things that give me energy rather than take it away.
For example you eat a big meal and then you're like oh I need to sleep.
Your body's processing that food.
It's bringing you down.
It's taking your energy away.
Whereas if you eat something very like nutritious,
Let's just use that word.
Oh yeah,
Smoothie Kelly put.
Every morning for so many years now my breakfast is a smoothie.
Is a green smoothie and if you want the recipe you can message me.
It's very tasty as well.
It's not one of those disgusting things that you buy that tastes like crap,
That tastes like grass.
No,
I don't do that kind of stuff.
I still eat things that I enjoy.
I don't want to play with this world of let me eat things that I don't enjoy.
No,
That's torture.
But just eating whole foods,
I guess that's the general rule for me.
Whole foods.
You look at a packet and if there's like three or four ingredients that say things that you don't even know what they mean,
That's not even right.
When it's food it's like oh look,
It's a banana.
Oh look it's this,
It's a peanut.
Oh this is a thing.
Rather than like this crap.
Like McDonald's and this kind of stuff right.
Which has like weird,
Yeah I don't know,
Let's not go into that.
But all I'm saying around the food element is yeah just time your food based on your day as well.
That's another important part.
Generally eat whole foods and then time your foods.
So when I say time your foods,
The way I work is work with my energy.
Is to say in the mornings I'll have this smoothie because I have no crash after that.
I'm buzzing with energy.
I'm buzzing until like afternoon.
And afternoon if it was an ideal day I'll have like a,
I don't know,
Some kind of salad or whatever.
A very tasty salad by the way.
So tasty.
And then at dinner time there's no rules.
I'll eat like a big hearty meal.
Have a dessert sometimes.
Because I know that all I have to do now is go to sleep.
All you have to do after a certain period is that it's time for bed.
So eat a nice good meal to put you to sleep right.
That's how it's worked for me.
Because it's like we wake up and we have stuff to do.
It's not a time to crash.
And that enhances your energy.
That just lets you have this like flow through the day.
And then naturally in the evening it's time to go sleep.
So okay it's a good time for a crash.
Perfect time for a crash.
So that's all I'm going to say on that for now.
And this can get into depths and I don't want to go into too much depths of it.
It's just use the body as a tool.
Simple.
Whatever you want to achieve.
It doesn't matter if I'm working with someone,
A client on like becoming more focused or calming down,
Becoming more energized.
If there's not a good supply of intake then it's going to be harder.
It's like these are the things that we have easy access to.
We can do this stuff easily.
Just tiny things.
And they have a big impact.
Bit of movement in the morning.
I'm not telling anyone go and have like a two hour routine.
It's just okay in the morning wake up and I do a bit of movement.
Great.
I feel a bit of a buzz.
And then it's like okay let's have something good to eat.
Great that supports my day.
And then it's like okay let me maybe go for a walk.
That slows me down.
It's like oh let me read for like 15 minutes.
Let me read something.
Okay that opens my mind.
And then it's like okay let me take a little bit of action on this goal I have.
Tiny step.
Baby step.
Okay that means I'm moving forward.
You see simple stuff.
Little steps.
That's all I've done for the past few years.
I've taken little steps.
And that's what I help clients with.
It's like let's take these small little tweaks.
Little tiny tweaks that have big impact over time.
And this whole chakra system,
It can get confusing sometimes.
People sometimes say to me Raj I think I'm having challenges with my solar plexus chakra.
I think I need to get some work done on it.
And I get what they're trying to say.
But then there's all these things out there like oh you can meet a person who's gonna heal your chakras for you.
Like he's going to a repair shop for your car right?
I don't know that's just me and I think there's better ways to do this.
Because the chakra system is one piece really.
And it links to everything else.
So the only reason I say that is to not get too caught up on this whole system of chakra.
Chakras definitely exist.
100% exist.
If you're doing things like yoga,
It's gonna get worked.
It's gonna actively get worked by you.
You're gonna do it.
You don't need to go to a repair shop.
See what I mean?
I'm gonna leave it as that.
I want to know if anyone has any questions.
Questions comments what comes up?
And here's the thing I never say I am an expert.
I believe everyone is the expert of their lives.
I'm just trying to help them become the expert of their lives right?
Helping them to see that they are the expert of their lives.
Away from the mental games and the doubts and fears and the I can't do this and this is difficult.
It's like let's make it not difficult then.
Let's make this simple.
What do you want to achieve?
Okay how do we do this?
What are some small steps we can take?
And the next thing you know six months have passed by and they've proven to themselves that the thing that they've been holding off for the past years can be changed.
Just the things I'm working on with people is to take is to simplify and take things away from their lives rather than add things.
So when you do these things like change your food and your movement it starts it starts creating simplicity in your mind and your mind starts it's like a haze,
Fog that gets cleared slowly.
Just by eating a bit better,
By moving a bit and then working on like your goals,
Your personal growth,
Where you want to get to,
Fears.
I see it as a support system.
The body is a support system.
It's like it's almost like if you were in a car and you had a co-pilot who's helping you,
Helping you to get where you want to get to.
So I'm going to leave it as that.
Any questions guys?
Put any questions in the chat or comments whatever's coming up for you.
I always say when I'm having these sessions that I don't need people to just listen in for agreement with what I'm saying.
I rather people listen in for insight,
For something new instead of like Raj is saying this yeah I already know this you know yeah he's confirmed what I thought was true.
When I say insight it's like oh that's something new oh cool let me try that maybe he's not right but yeah maybe he's not maybe he is let me try and listen about this okay cool.
So what are your insights that you might have taken guys?
I want to hear insights or questions or comments whatever put it in the chat.
Judy says they should be a rainbow of real natural foods.
Yeah that's a really good simple rule as well like rainbow.
Yeah yeah and Star Seeker says I encourage people to trust themselves.
Yeah that's a huge topic trusting your inner guide.
Your inner guide because most of the work I'm doing is helping people to find their inner guide.
Like I said before I'm not here to be somebody's like to tell someone exactly what to do based on what I've done.
It's like I want to help you to know and tap into your intuition.
Let's do this let's let's help you find that.
Yeah I'll give you some things that have worked for me maybe they work for you great if they don't also great I'm not I'm not precious about my knowledge and I don't want to be like a I'm trying to think of the right word you know like a teacher who's saying hey I'm right you're wrong no I don't that doesn't that means I'm an ego if I was doing that.
So yeah Star Seeker what you're saying about the wellness jargon exactly a ton of wellness jargon that's why I was being very specific when I said certain things today just to say like don't get caught up on all this stuff.
Keep it simple I like to keep things simple the simple stuff always helps.
Like there's so much these days about gut microbiome you know everywhere.
Because yes there is like I said before there is the core of us is here but if you just focus on gut microbiome you become obsessed with that.
I don't know that doesn't feel like the only thing to do to transform and better your life there's so many other things as well.
And I say that here's why I say that one guy I was speaking to is telling me he's like Raj what do you do?
I was telling him like some stories of some transformations I've helped people with right and he was like Raj yeah sounds good you're helping people to clear the mind and you know get out of that fog and get out of that overthinking and you're helping them to understand more about like this non-physical world tapping into intuition and all that.
He said but Raj you know there's you know what about gut microbiome you should help people with this as well and I was like why?
And he said well you know there's so much science on it and the science these days says this and I was like where did you get this from?
He said yeah I took a course about it.
I was like okay great.
And what I was getting from that was what some people say to you you don't have to listen to because there is a lot of science and stuff out there but it comes back to this point that who made that?
Star seeker said was just trusting yourself making this your masterpiece forgetting all the noise out there this is your masterpiece this is your body this is your life your sculpture you are the sculpture.
No one else is going to come and sit and chip your sculpture for you right?
No one knows how to chip your sculpture it's like only you can do this you get people who can support you and help you yeah sure people like me right that's what I do but I can't chip anyone's sculpture for them I'll just help them to find the right tools that makes it easier maybe yeah or help them to learn how to use the chipping tool let's say which is their chipping tool it's not mine right?
All right guys any other comments questions?
Thank you Jamie simple perspective yeah simple body is a tool body is just one piece and you know like most of my talks if you haven't come before my talks are usually about a range of things but they're generally about how to free yourself from your mind and overthinking and how to become more focused confident courageous productive but the body is a very useful tool to help you to do that it's not the place I focus on even though it's a massive part of my life I even became certified as a personal trainer and trained people at one point but yeah it just feels like one part of a person's life the tool I'd say that the outer shell is the very outer shell not that important the most importance is your inner happiness inner wisdom but these things can help right that's my angle on it okay I'm gonna just quickly just browse through any other comments keep it small and simple says Karen yes I never come across that way okay great thanks Kelly there are more bacteria in and in and on our bodies and human cells we on symbiosis yeah yeah okay um I'm gonna leave it as that guys and let me just check
