A brief grounding meditation to ground your energy into the body and breath, whilst connecting with the support of Mama Earth. Access the quality of stability and remember the anchor of your breath. This meditation is helpful in redirecting any excess energy that's in the mind to land back into the wisdom of your breath and the foundation of earth energy. Background music credit: Chris Collins

Connect your feet to the surface you are on.

Either laying down with your knees bent and feet on the floor or standing or even sitting on a chair.

And if you've brought yourself to be on the earth,

Feel the texture of earth touching your body.

Place a hand to your chest and another to your lower abdomen.

And welcome the sensations of the surface that is supporting you.

Welcome the sounds around you.

Gently internalise your awareness by taking 3 slower inhales and long open mouth exhales.

Feel the sensations of your breath within your body.

Begin to then direct your breath down to the soles of your feet as you begin to feel your feet plug down towards the earth.

Visualise now golden roots weaving their way down through the soles of your feet into the layers of the earth's soil.

Going deeper towards the heart of Mama Earth.

As these roots weave their way down deeper and deeper.

Feel her pulse and her aliveness.

Continue to breathe slowly and deeply.

Visualise as though you could slowly draw up the earth's supportive energy of foundation,

Stability,

Solidity up to your roots.

Up towards your feet,

The base of your spine.

And slowly,

Slowly they trickle their way into your whole body.

As you visualise this,

Imagine this the next 4 rounds of slow,

Steady breathing.

Gently return to the sensations of breath.

Moving the ribs and the abdomen now.

Notice the beat of your heart.

Notice your own internal rhythm that your breath and heartbeat create.

When you are ready,

Slowly,

Gently bring movement into fingers and toes.

Maybe a soft roll through the shoulders,

A turn of the head side to side.

Take your time as you softly link your eyes open and re-emerge into your day.
