A welcome to this Soma Nidra for embodying a new way of being.
Please settle into a comfortable position.
Arrange yourself so you feel supported into insoling a deep sense of comfort,
Trust and letting go.
Allow your eyes to gently close and all expression from the face to fade away.
Soften into the earth beneath you.
Know you are welcome here,
On this land,
In this space,
Fully welcome.
And whatever arises within,
Be it sensation,
Feelings,
Emotions,
Thoughts,
Desires,
Images,
Or any distractions that arise from outside,
Allow it all to be here.
Allow it to be here with a sense of welcoming,
An invitation to move you more deeply within,
Knowing you are held here in a safe space.
As we enter this Yoga Nidra,
Simply allow your body to respond non-mentally and directly to my words,
Without any interference from the mind.
Affirm to yourself that you will remain awake,
That you will not fall asleep.
And now shift from thinking and doing to feeling and being.
Do absolutely nothing from now on.
Now allow us to plant in the heart of your being a seed of intention that is your Sankalpa.
This is a way of being that is born of your heart.
Perhaps it's expressed through words,
Stated in the present tense,
Repeating it to yourself three times.
Or perhaps it's a feeling or sense or images that arise.
And simply trust in this deeper intuitive guidance of your own soul's wisdom that already knows the way.
Allow your words,
Feelings,
And any associated images to echo through your being as though it were already so.
Now allow my voice to be your guide as we travel through the physical body,
The Anamaya Kosha.
Feel your attention awaken sensation in each body part that is mentioned,
And equally drop into the silent spaces between my words.
Invite your awareness to remain present and aware.
Bring attention now to your mouth,
Tongue,
Jaw,
Cheeks,
Right ear,
Left ear,
Eyebrow center,
Right eye,
Left eye,
Both orbits of the eyes,
Temples,
Forehead,
Scalp,
Back of the head,
Throat.
Sense the whole head as an orb of radiant sensation,
Right shoulder,
Elbow,
Wrist,
Palm of the right hand,
All five fingers.
Sense the whole right arm as an orb of luminous sensation.
Now bring your attention to left shoulder,
Elbow,
Wrist,
Palm of the left hand,
All five fingers.
Sense the whole left arm as an orb of luminous sensation.
Sense the hollow between your collarbones,
Center of the chest,
Heart space,
Navel center,
Pubic bone,
Pelvic bowl,
Upper back,
Middle back,
Lower back,
Sacrum.
Sense the whole length of the spine as a highway of vibrating sensation.
Right hip,
Knee,
Ankle,
Sole of right foot,
All five toes.
Sense the whole right leg as an orb of vibrating sensation.
Left hip,
Knee,
Ankle,
Sole of left foot,
All five toes.
Sense the whole left leg as an orb of vibrating sensation.
Sense both legs as orbs of vibrating sensation.
Sense the whole torso as an orb of radiant luminosity.
Sense both arms as vibrant sensation.
Sense your head as a pulsing sphere of luminous energy.
Sense the wholeness of your body radiating in all directions,
Whole body,
Whole body.
Wholeness reaching out in front of you,
Behind you,
To your right,
To your left,
Above,
Below.
Wholeness vibrating orb reaching out into the surrounding space.
Sensing your body in this way allows for a letting go,
Allowing the body to be in its true dwelling place as it's invited into stillness.
Life as Shakti finding her temple within and as the body.
Become aware now of the body breathing and the flow of the breath as sensation in the nostrils.
The abdomen gently rising as breath flows in and releasing as breath flows out.
The body breathing naturally and rhythmically.
In-breath abdomen rising,
Out-breath abdomen releasing.
No need to change anything.
The body breathing itself.
Now sense a letting go and taking a leap into the new.
Identify an old pattern or narrative that you're ready to step out of.
Create an image of a path that leads to a whole new way of being.
This path could be a trail,
Stairs,
A road,
Or a bridge.
See what spontaneously appears.
And see this path and feel what it's like to not know where you're heading.
Bring along any elements or beings or resources to help you feel safe,
Resourced,
Ready to take the next step.
Then sense or imagine,
Feel,
Taking that first step on this path towards somewhere new and a new way of being.
Feel what happens in your body.
Listen and notice the story or vision that emerges.
If nothing emerges,
This too is just fine.
Being fully present to the unfolding.
And take several more steps forward and keep noticing what happens.
Now notice the living,
Vibrating life force moving through your body.
And observe that there is also a vast,
Pervading stillness,
A silence and spaciousness,
An awaring presence.
Rest in this awaring presence.
Bathe in the complete sense of relief and trust that you have all you need within you.
You are unburdened and free.
Feel that your whole body and every cell is vibrating at a whole new frequency,
Different from anything you have ever known before.
This is the dimension of being.
And now invite your sankalpa back.
Just as a seed is planted in bountiful soils of the earth,
Our intention is seeded in the fertile ground of our being.
This is a way of being that is born of your heart.
Let your being receive the echo of words or a felt sense or image or sound.
Allow what comes to you naturally,
Trusting your soul's deepest knowing.
Here your intention or resolve can be actualized and fulfilled with effortless ease.
By trusting your heart's deep wisdom,
Its guidance will show up when needed in its own perfect time.
There is no need for you to do anything about it.
Simply allow for an openness of welcoming the soul's wisdom to emerge.
Allow it to be received at the most subtle level of your being,
Becoming fully embodied.
Begin now to become aware of the rising and falling of your belly and chest with the breath.
Welcoming the breath into the body,
Anywhere it feels to enliven and awaken more warmth and trust and love.
Slowly sense yourself rising to the surface of awareness.
Feel your body resting and supported by the earth mother beneath you.
Feel the air on your skin,
The earth's breath as it touches your own skin.
Gradually begin to move your body as though waking from a restful sleep.
And if there is an impulse to remain still,
Just follow that.
No need to hurry.
Take your time.
In your own time,
Allow yourself to shift back into your waking state of awareness.
And as we come to a close of this Soma Nidra,
Take a moment to honor your own time and commitment with gratitude for taking this time as an act of radical self-care and self-love.
In doing so,
You nourish your inner resources,
Which honors a deep care for yourself,
In turn allowing for a deeper expression of authentic care for others and our mother earth.
Feel free to remain still for as long as you like,
Or begin to gently move and stretch and yawn in your own time.
Trust you have received exactly what you need from this practice.
The Soma Nidra is now complete.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.
