Welcome to this practice of Yoga Nidra.
So allow yourself to feel supported,
To enter a deep state of self-inquiry and exploration as we move through the elements within you and the land of your body.
So if you need to make any last-minute adjustments or you're just 5 or 10% more comfortable,
Do that now.
Allow all your senses to be wide open and if any disturbances occur,
External or internal,
Let them draw you more deeply within without becoming distracted.
As you settle,
Let yourself move within,
Becoming still.
Allow yourself to let go of all thoughts,
Worry and tension.
Now shift from thinking and doing to feeling and being.
Now breathe in fully and exhale with a deep sigh.
And again breathe in fully and exhale with a deep sigh and let go even more.
As you let go,
Sense the earth beneath you.
Sense the earth rising up to embrace the weight of your body.
Sense the connecting points of your own body with the body of the earth.
Feel your own body fusing with the body of the earth,
Your body and the earth's body becoming one unified body of land.
Now allow us to plant in the heart of the land of the body a seed of intention that is your sankalpa.
This is a way of being that is born of the heart.
Allow for an intention to arise that may take form through words that are stated several times in the present tense as an expression of your heartfelt mission or desire and let it echo in your body as though it were already so.
Or if words cannot be formulated in this moment,
Simply trust in the deeper intuitive guidance of your own soul's wisdom that already knows the way.
In the rich soils of your body and for seeds to grow,
The fresh nourishing waters begin to flow.
Your attention comes to rest on the point between the eyebrows where a spring of pure waters gurgles forth from the intelligence of the earth gaya and bubbles down to the hollow between the collarbones.
On the edges of the collarbones sit two fairies that jump off the edge into these waters in the collarbones.
And here the waters trickle in until they overflow and a stream of aqua clear waters flows down the right shoulder with these two little fairies riding the current and picking up any impurities along the way,
Flowing into the right elbow,
Sliding down into the wrist and then whirlpooling in the palm of the hand,
The water then brimming over into each finger.
And at the end of each finger sits another little fairy,
Dipping its toes in the water.
Then the water fills up back to the palm,
Wrist,
Elbow,
Shoulder and the waters cascade down the right side waist,
Pooling in the right hip,
Which then overflows down the right leg,
Into the knee,
Into the ankle,
Pooling in the sole of the foot where little sprites sit in each toe,
And the water overflows into each toe.
As the toes fill up,
The aqua clear waters return to the whirlpool in the sole of the foot and the little sprites and fairies dip and dive in this whirlpool that continues to fill up to the ankle,
Knee,
And the current flows across the pelvis,
Gathering again as a whirlpool in the left hip,
And all these little sprites and fairies surf around the whirlpool,
Round the left hip,
And streaming down the left leg to the knee,
Ankle,
Pooling in the sole of the foot,
And pouring into all the toes,
And at the end of each toe are some little flowers and daisies,
And the fairies and the sprites pick up these flowers and continue to surf the waters.
From the toes the waters whirl into the left sole,
Up to the ankle,
Knee,
Hip,
And like a gentle tidal wave,
Swelling up the left side waist,
Splashing into the left shoulder,
Where the water orbits before streaming down the left arm to the elbow,
And the little fairies and sprites continue to surf down from the elbow to the wrist,
And gather in the pooling waters in the palm of the hand,
And flooding into the fingers,
And the waters accumulate and rise from the palm to the wrist,
And picking up into the elbow to shoulder,
And forming into a river between the collarbones,
Which then cascades down the river valley of the spine,
And all the little fairies disappear along the shore of the river valley of the spine into the forest.
In the eastward direction you sense the rising sun to your right.
As the sun rises,
It casts its radiant golden rays upon the currents of water flowing as rivulets in your whole right side.
You sense the whole right side warm under golden rays of sun.
In the westward direction you sense the setting of the full moon to your left.
As the moon sets it casts cooling silver beams upon the currents of water flowing as rivulets in your whole left side.
You sense the whole left side cool under silver moonbeams.
Whole left side cool.
Whole right side warm under golden sun rays.
Whole left side cool under silver moonbeams.
And as the sun continues to rise,
And the moon sets behind the horizon of your soul,
The sun casts its hot midday rays down upon the belly of the land of your body.
A little fire pit is nestled in your navel,
And the glitter of the hot sun ignites a fire in your belly.
This fire begins to roar as the sun burns hot,
And begins to evaporate the cool mists that have accumulated along the shores of the rivers.
The winds of your out-breath pick up,
And sweep down the river valley of your spine,
Gusting down the tunnels of your legs exiting out your heels far into space.
And the winds of your in-breath draw up to the crown exiting through meadows of hair blowing far into space.
The winds of your breath settle into breezes that continue to travel on the down-breath through the river valley of the spine down the tunnels of the legs,
Out the heels into space.
And then up the river valley of the spine through the meadowed peak of the head releasing into wide,
Open space.
Up and down the valleys of the land of your body,
The winds of your breath drift through and out into space.
Sense into the vast space around you,
Sparkling stars amongst endless space.
Drop into that silent space where all doing stops.
Enter an effortless state of being,
Pure presence.
Here there is nothing to do or achieve.
You have entered the domain of grace.
Now begin to become aware of the rising and falling of your belly with your breath.
Slowly feel yourself rising to the surface of your awareness.
Sense your body now resting on the earth.
Become aware of the quality of air that touches your skin,
The feeling of the in and out flow of your breath.
In the soil of being,
The seed of intention can take root.
So take this moment to revisit your sankalpa.
Remember,
This is a way of being born of the heart.
Be it by repeating your chosen words,
Or letting them resonate through your being as a direct present moment experience,
As though it were already so.
Or by trusting your heart's deep wisdom that its guidance will show up when needed in its own perfect time.
Allowing for an openness of simply welcoming the soul's wisdom to emerge.
Invite attention into the body.
Begin to invite movement into fingers and toes.
Take your time.
Not hurry.
Gradually start to move.
In your own time,
Turning onto your side.
So allowing for you to simply ease off to bed when you feel to move.
Completing this yoga nidra,
So you can remain in this sub-wakeful state to get yourself to bed and then drift back into a state of sleep.
May we come in peace and go in peace.
