This guided meditation offers insight into Om through three parts: O-M-Silence and is accompanied by the soothing sounds of hand-hammered singing bowls; an original track created specifically for this meditation. Listen for more than once, with practice, comfort, and strength settle in. Benefits include relaxation, stress-reduction, vocal strength, and breath endurance. Meditators are encouraged to sing or speak the OM, however, thinking/visualizing the sound is an option. Enjoy!

Let us be with the sound of AUM.

What does AUM represent for you?

Simply said,

It can represent the sound of the universe,

A connectedness to others,

Or the sound of your own natural vibration.

We will explore AUM in three parts today.

The O,

The M,

And silence.

Please find a comfortable seated posture either in a chair or on the floor.

Sit tall and loosen through the neck,

Shoulders,

And jaw.

Closing the eyes or have a soft focus.

Notice your breath.

Feel the natural rhythm of your inhale and your exhale.

Notice where it flows into the body and how it naturally flows out.

Begin to deepen the breath.

The inhale expands through the lower ribs and belly and the exhale naturally flowing out.

Within this expansion,

Let's count the length just for a couple breaths.

The count of four.

Inhale with me,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Inhale,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Few more breaths following your own pace of this equal inhalation and exhalation.

And if you feel comfortable,

Elongate the exhale for two more beats.

You will inhale for the four and exhale for the six,

Preparing the body for sound.

I'll count to start.

Inhale,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale,

Six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Inhale,

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale,

Six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

Follow that rhythm as you're able,

Allowing the body to expand into the inhale and expand into the exhale.

Starting to think the om.

So more so than counting,

We start to think the om on the inhale and the om on the exhale.

The sound within us and the sound around us.

Now we will add the sound of om on any pitch you would like on the exhale.

Approximately four beats on the om,

Four on the om,

And an eight part inhale.

Let's see.

Inhale with me.

Om.

Om Om Aum Aum One more.

Aum Taking rest,

Noticing your seat,

The length of your spine,

Breathing easy and free.

Releasing any tensions that may have gathered,

Noticing any opening that is happening.

The idea that we open as we chant the Aum and open as we inhale into it.

For what is your intention?

Where in your body would you like to feel this?

Where in your mind?

Let it be within,

Through and around you.

Allowing for the Aum to offer its message.

Today,

Inhale with me.

Aum I'll hold this steady,

Find your own pace.

Aum Aum Aum Aum Aum Aum Sharing these Aum's out now.

And let's elongate them twice as long,

Opening into this energy so that all can tap into this.

And ever,

Wherever,

With conscious breath,

Let's inhale our last three.

Aum Aum Aum Aum Choosing to continue this,

We're ending the practice here.

I thank you so much.

Walk in the light that you are.

Namaste.

Aum
