Taking mindful breaths during your workday can rejuvenate your mind and body,
Enhancing both well-being and productivity,
Inspired by Tarabrach's concept of the sacred pause.
This two-minute meditation invites you to step out the cycle of constant doing and reconnect with the present moment.
Begin by finding a comfortable position,
Either seated or standing.
Allow your eyes to gently close,
Soften your gaze.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs completely and then exhale slowly,
Releasing any tension.
Repeat this deep,
Cleansing breath two more times,
Allowing yourself to arrive fully in this moment.
Now let your breathing return to its natural rhythm.
Bring your attention to the sensation of the breath entering and leaving your body.
Notice the coolness of inhale and the warmth of exhale.
As you continue to breath naturally,
Become aware of any areas of tension,
Tightness in your body.
Without trying to change anything,
Simply observe these sensations,
Acknowledge any discomfort or restlessness,
Allowing it to be present without resistance.
Gently expand your awareness to include your thoughts and emotions.
Notice any mental chatter,
Worries or plans.
Instead of engaging with these thoughts,
Observe them as if they are clouds passing through the sky of our mind.
Allow them to come and go without attachment.
Now bring your focus back to the breath.
With each inhale,
Imagine drawing in a sense of calm and clarity.
With each exhale,
Release any accumulated stress or tension.
As you prepare to conclude this meditation,
Set the intention to incorporate these sacred poses into your daily routine by taking a few moments after each work session to pause and reconnect.
You honor your well-being and create space for greater presence and effectiveness in your tasks.
Take one final deep breath in and as you exhale,
Gently open your eyes or lift your gaze.
Carry this sense of mindful awareness with you as you return to your activities,
Remembering that these brief moments to pause are a gift to yourself,
Nurturing your mind,
Body and spirit.
By embracing these sacred poses throughout your day,
You cultivate a deeper connection to the present moment,
Enhancing both your personal well-being and your professional performance.
Namaste.
