Welcome to this sensory closing ritual.
You can use this at the end of your day when you feel like you need to let go of any energy you've picked up that's perhaps not yours.
So let's take a moment to just sit and just feel your weight grounding on the chair or the cushion or the earth.
Begin to take a slow breath in through your nose and sigh it softly out through your mouth.
So you can take a slow breath in through your nose and sigh your breath slowly out through your mouth.
Doing this several times and let your shoulders melt down.
Just notice if you're holding any tension in your shoulders and just drop them down and then scan to your jaw.
Notice if you're holding any tension in the jaw and just maybe roll your tongue around your mouth and release.
Allow your abdomen to soften.
Sensitive nervous systems and souls,
We stay open through the day.
We absorb the sounds,
The emotions,
The energies of other people.
This is all done on a subconscious level.
Sometimes we don't even realize that we're doing it.
So this ritual can help you to come back home,
To close off the busyness and sit in stillness when all around you is chaotic.
Just rub,
Begin by rubbing your palms together.
So rubbing both the palms of your hands together.
We're generating some warming heat energy and just notice the heat as you are rubbing your palms together.
Noticing the tingling,
Noticing the sensations and the energy moving.
These hands that envision really feel into this energy as being healing energy.
Their own energy generated from yourself with warmth and compassion.
Now we're going to take these healing energies through the hands.
We're going to place the hands on the top of the head,
So towards the crown of the head.
Then you're going to bring this heat with these hands down over your forehead,
Your eyes,
Your cheeks and your jaw.
Now continue,
You can maybe pat or you can tap or just simply brush.
Continue down the sides of your neck,
Bringing the hands across your shoulders,
Bringing the hands across your shoulders and along each arm and all the way to the fingertips.
Now bring both hands back to the chest and sweep softly down the front of your body.
You can sweep,
You can brush,
You can tap,
Whatever feels good for you.
Bringing the hands over your heart,
Over your belly,
Your hips,
Your knees and all the way to your feet.
You can pause in certain areas or go back to certain areas that you feel you want to.
As you do this,
As you brush,
As you tap,
I want you to imagine that you are just brushing away any energy,
Anything you've absorbed,
Any emotions,
Any unheld responsibilities that you don't need to take.
Imagine them just being brushed away from you,
Knowing that this is not yours to carry.
As sensitive humans,
We are so caring towards other people but we do absorb things that we don't always need to absorb.
We carry emotions that are not ours so when we do this it's important that we close down every day and take time to create energetic boundaries between us and the outside world and other people.
Just making sure your breath is gentle and you're not rushing this process.
Perhaps taking a few more taps,
Brushes,
Wherever you feel called to and then bringing one hand to your heart and one hand to your abdomen and just noticing the rise and fall of your breath.
I would like to just repeat a mantra phrase with you that you can say to yourself when you're feeling overwhelmed or that you've absorbed too much or maybe you're feeling a bit delicate and when we do this I invite you to simply take your arms around you as though you were giving yourself and you are giving yourself a hug.
So in semantics this is called self-regulation.
Often sometimes you might not be able to give someone else or something a hug so we can give ourselves a hug as a way of seeding in the energy for ourselves today.
So just giving yourself a hug.
You can repeat these phrases I soften,
I surrender and I am safe.
I soften,
I surrender,
I am safe.
I soften,
I surrender and I am safe.
Just taking a final breath in and a slow breath out.
When you're ready you can stay here for longer but when you're ready you can gently open your eyes and come back into the room and just know that this is a practice that you can do to visually and energetically create boundaries in your energy and come back to it at the end of the day or whenever you feel you need to.
