Let's start by taking a comfortable position.
You can take any position you like.
Standing,
Seated,
Lying down.
And start by taking three deep breaths and sighing out.
Do two more of those in your own pace.
And you can be as loud as you want.
Let your body express itself.
One final deep in and exhale.
And then you can return to a normal breath.
And notice where your breath is moving your body.
And place your hand there,
Wherever that may be.
There is no best or better place to breathe.
You're just breathing.
I'm going to invite you to come into awareness with the body by asking you a few questions.
And you can answer them for yourself.
Where is my point of reference right now?
Is it inside your body?
Is that where your focus is?
Or is it outside of you?
Are you in a state of being or doing right now?
Where do you feel that in the body?
Would you be able to identify whether your body is in one of the four stress responses?
Fight,
Flight,
Freeze or fawn?
Or are you relaxed and does your body feel safe?
Are you receiving or are you sending?
And where in the body can you feel that?
Are you open or are you contracted right now?
Or are you maybe a little bit of both in different places of the body?
And where?
Where do you feel that?
Are you erect or are you soft right now?
And again,
Maybe a little bit of both.
Where is the body erect?
Maybe the spine?
The jaws?
And where are you soft?
The belly?
The knees?
There's no right and wrong.
We're just observing.
Do you feel held back?
Or are you in expansion right now?
And where in the body do you feel that?
And then notice if you want to invite your body to be more of any of those words that I've just mentioned.
If you want to be more receptive,
More soft,
More open.
Then go back to that place in the body that you identified as soft,
Open.
And tune into it.
It really helps to bring your hand there.
And then you breathe more air into it.
Every inhale you see if you can expand that area and those sensations.
See if you can bring those sensations to the areas around where you initially found them.
Sometimes it helps to visualize that you are multiplying those sensations.
So you're able to soften more and open more in a bigger space.
Let those sensations go wherever you'd like them to go.
Maybe you want to contain them.
That's okay.
They are for you.
Or maybe you want to expand them so far they would even cross the boundary of your skin.
So you can surround yourself and bathe yourself into those sensations.
And maybe you even want to share them with the space or the people around you.
You can fill up a whole room,
A whole house with your sensations.
So let them go as wide and as far as you're comfortable to let them go.
And don't feel bad if you don't want any of that.
You're here for you.
You don't owe anybody anything.
This is your magic.
Your currency.
And you decide where it goes.
Now place your hand on your heart and thank yourself for doing this short awareness practice.
Getting out of the head and into the body.
Well done,
Dear one.
