This meditation is an invitation to rest in non-dual awareness — the natural state of being that lies beneath thoughts, emotions, and the sense of separation. You will be invited to turn attention inward, beyond the conceptual mind, and experience the presence that is always here: open, spacious, and whole. As the mind settles, what remains is the quiet radiance of your true self, pure awareness, unchanging and free. This practice supports deep inner peace, clarity, and a sense of unity with all of life. Music by Chris Collins.

Transcript

Every journey begins with a single step.

And for you,

That means to simply show up.

Open your heart,

Open your mind to conscious experience.

Recognize that however you are on the level of your body,

On the level of your emotions and the level of your spirit is valid.

If you are experiencing my words right now,

It means that you are indeed in the right place and the right time.

And right here at the start of this journey,

I want to invite you to give yourself permission to have this experience as is,

Moving away from trying to understand it from the view of your intellect.

Moving from doing the story to being the story.

Who are you?

Who are you?

Who is experiencing my words,

The music,

The sensations?

Is this happening inside of your brain?

Is this happening in any particular part of your body?

Where is the experience happening right now?

On the fundamental level,

There are thoughts,

Emotions,

Feelings,

Maybe bodily sensations.

Is that all that you are?

Look for the space between thoughts,

Emotions,

Feelings,

Sensations.

And see for yourself what can you find there.

Who is the experiencer?

Who is the I in this conscious experience?

From thoughts,

Emotions,

Feelings,

And sensations,

Moving into boundless sky that encompasses it all,

All-inclusive,

Always understanding,

Never resisting what there is.

Conscious experience,

You are always loved,

You are always worthy,

You are always enough.

You have arrived,

And now,

It is time to consciously shift your awareness from the abundant sky back to your physical senses that define the reality around you as is.

Starting with your sight,

Connecting with brighter and darker spots in front of your eyes,

Recognizing being immersed in the music,

Recognizing the sound of my voice,

Briefly touching upon senses of taste and smell,

And arriving in the sense of touch that defines the boundaries of your physical body and your connection with the space around you.

You have arrived back into the reality of matter,

But you have been transformed in your conscious experience.

You can take with you what you will,

And left behind anything else.

When you are ready to finish,

Simply take one deep breath in through your nose,

And out through your mouth,

And in your own time,

Open your eyes.

Welcome back.

Tom, this was an eyebrow-raising, expeditious and effective surface dive into the actual experience of noticing non-dualism, however brief—one that has mostly eluded me over the last five years. This basic but profound concept of discovering “the space between” thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations? Wow. It beggars belief that in merely stopping and observing, this type of conscious awareness can reveal itself and demonstrate that there is no observer. That’s a ‘heavy trip,’ indeed, as the soul/star children of the late 60s might say. For some reason, this recalled for me one of your other truly memorable lessons that involved imagining and distinguishing among the weeds in a garden. I cannot recall the name of that one, but I will dig through your offerings here in hopes of finding it once again. Enduring peace be unto you, sir! 🫡 ☮️
