Today we are going to sit together for a gentle and soothing meditation that brings us to a calm and confident self.
We will begin with an intention,
Embody this intention,
Go into a meditation and exit carrying the energy forwards into our day.
I welcome you to begin setting your intention by sitting in a peaceful space.
You may lower your gaze or close your eyes.
Before we set an intention we will look at what it means to not feel calm or confident and in comparison we will with greater clarity see what is our centered energy,
See what is our calm and confident energy in our body.
If our laughter feels constricted or a love that feels heavy through overextension,
Through resentment or when we are unable to be in the moment or have fun,
We overthink about the tasks that had to be done or when we fear the time is being wasted by relaxing.
This clouds our senses,
Makes our energy very heavy,
We feel constricted.
Starting tasks can feel difficult,
Our confidence becomes less because of the overthinking about quality of output or overthinking about other people's opinions or maybe our own harsh inner critics opinions.
We may try to hide our emotions or try to guess other people's intentions too much.
This results in making even small steps or doing basic tasks such as self-hygiene or dressing up feel forceful than something that has to be done with ease.
You may sense a certain constriction in your body,
Certain heaviness and now as I say some words that allow you to feel in comparison a calm and confidence within you.
I want you to remember how that feels in your body.
This will be our intention to feel expansive and not constricted,
To feel centered,
To feel self-assured and to feel grounded.
Imagine the time you had a spontaneous laughter,
A compassion or a love that felt light and moved beyond from your body to all of humanity,
Nature or maybe even just one person.
Remember the time with your body,
Remember it in your senses,
The time you had fun by being in the present moment.
Remember how it feels to connect with others without trying to hide your emotions or guessing what the other person is thinking,
Just enjoying those moments.
I welcome you to meditate on this intention.
If you haven't yet closed your eyes,
Close your eyes or lower your gaze,
Place your palms gently on your lap.
You may keep it open to receive what comes or you may keep it in any manner that feels comfortable to you.
Sit alert and straight but relaxed.
Breathe in gently with a soft pull and a long release of held up stress.
Soft pull of air and a long release of held up stress.
Another breathing in and long breath.
Remember with your body,
The calmness,
The confidence,
The creativity and compassion.
Notice your eyebrows,
Jaws.
You don't have to fix it or change it.
Just pay attention like an outsider but from the inside of your body.
Notice your shoulders,
Your chest,
Your abdomen,
Your buttocks and legs.
In the next breath,
Try to expand your body very slightly and as you do it,
Breathe in deeply.
You're breathing in through all your body,
Not just your nose.
Raise your chin slightly.
Breathe in deeply with long exhales.
This breathing is through your body.
Sit like you own your body.
You own the space your body holds and the space around you.
With a slightly raised chin,
Breathe in deep with long exhales.
Whenever you are swayed away from the state during the day,
Let a gentle remembrance slowly bring you back here.
May you carry this energy forwards into your day.
