Join us for a gentle Inner Child Meditation. These types of meditations can bring up some powerful feelings, so make sure that you're checking in with yourself and offering compassion. This meditation helps us to explore some of the experiences that formed how we are in the world now, while offering an opportunity to put down what we no longer need to carry with us.

Dear friend,

All of us,

Despite how far away it might feel now,

Were once children,

And a lot of what we learnt,

Experienced,

And explored stays with us even now,

Shaping our lives and our sense of being.

Some of us might have felt the gentle call to meet our inner child in meditation,

While for others,

Meeting here is an act of bravery.

Welcome.

During today's inner child meditation,

We will be connecting with our inner child and spending time together,

Remembering,

Healing,

And nurturing our once and present selves.

This kind of work can often bring up intense emotions,

And so it is important that we approach ourselves with compassion and understanding,

Remembering our breath,

And taking a break if overwhelmed.

Thank you for joining me.

Let's begin.

Let's take a few moments to connect to our breath.

Feel how it moves and flows through our bodies,

Where it moves easily and where it gets stuck.

Sending extra love and breath and attention into any of these stagnant areas.

Feeling the parts of our bodies that are lifted on the inhale,

And the parts of our bodies that are pressed down towards the ground and Mother Earth on the exhale.

Deep breath in,

Deep breath out.

Feel yourself come into the present moment,

Leaving behind the trappings of the day.

Moving fully into the here and now before we explore the past.

And now we begin to recall our inner child.

Think back to all of the things that you loved as a child.

For now,

Try to remember your happiest memory.

Where did you like to go?

What was your favorite toy or friend or adventure?

Allow this vision of your inner child to become more and more clear.

Breathing in and breathing out.

And now as you see your inner child here with you,

You can greet them in whatever way feels comfortable for you.

If this is feeling sensitive for you and you feel like you may not be ready for more,

Then this is a beautiful place to leave this meditation.

If you feel called and comfortable to continue,

Take some deep and calming breaths now.

You are going to be spending some more time with your inner child.

Let them explore their world and your memories and you can walk through this together,

Reminding your inner child that they are no longer alone.

They have you now and you come with a lot more knowledge and understanding than you had previously.

Let's all go back to that home,

Truly.

You if you are ready really allow yourself to feel all of the emotion you may feel joy you may feel pain and grief happiness and sadness all of your emotions are possible and valid there is no shame in the depth of feeling and you may even find yourself crying this is okay we should try to accept all of the emotions as they are now we connect to our breath again our mind going back over the feelings thoughts and emotions that stood out most the things that are no longer serving us are ready to be released speak with your inner child letting them know that these things are no longer their responsibility thanking them for keeping these thoughts feelings and emotions safe but it's time to let go of them now with every inhale we acknowledge the thought feeling pattern or emotion that is ready to go and on the exhale it flows from our body the breath in is the acknowledgement the breath out is the letting go I'll give you some time to work through this with your inner child letting go can also bring up some difficult feelings so continue to be compassionate you can always pause the meditation here if you feel like you might need some more time we don't have to feel like we should let go of everything all at once this meditation will be here and you can work through everything as you feel comfortable and now we bring nurturing and love to our inner child apologizing for what has happened in the past giving them love and understanding tell them of the beautiful things in your life and acknowledge that you no longer need that layer of protection most importantly sending them so much love and compassion you can ask for compassion from them as well as you continue your work let them know that they are seen and heard and lastly as we prepare to end this meditation thank your inner child for their understanding and for their willingness to go on this journey with you taking a final long and deep breath in through your nose and a long slow exhale out through your mouth give thanks to yourself for doing this work thank you for joining me for this inner child meditation you

Although short and could have benefited with longer, quieter time with inner child to reflect and be present with emotions this meditation was deeply connecting and heart opening. Deep compassion, evolving and nourishment for my inner child where I was able to begin releasing some of the beliefs that have shaped me as an adult. Thank you for this poignant and delicately considerate(in offering points of early ending), compassionately composed meditation of such a difficult and emotional nature. Namaste.
