Sometimes we are holding on to energy from a past experience that was harmful and I don't know about you but when you realize that you still have that experience in your body you can feel it.
It's almost like you can feel it within certain parts of your body.
Some people feel it in their throat,
Some people feel it in their heart space,
Some people feel it in their stomach,
Some people feel it all throughout.
But in this meditation today we're going to make space to give those those parts of us attention,
Love,
Care,
Compassion,
And then if we feel ready,
Releasing what's ready to go.
I'd like for you to take a seat,
Get comfortable,
Feel comfortable to lay down as well if you'd like to.
And then go ahead and close your eyes and just taking note of any sounds,
Any smells,
Anything that you might feel your attention being called to,
Especially if you're outside.
Let any thoughts come to mind.
It's okay if your mind is racing,
It's okay if you're thinking I don't know if meditation is for me.
Letting that all come to your mind and validating that I see you and yet look at us,
We're here,
We're sitting,
We're doing this.
Taking a deep breath in through your nose,
Exhaling out through your mouth.
Again,
Breathing in through your nose,
Exhaling out through your mouth.
Taking one hand,
Putting it on your heart space and the other hand and putting it on your belly.
Feeling the connection between your hand and your heart space,
Feeling the connection between your hand and your belly.
Feeling the connection with yourself.
Reminding yourself that even with all of the thoughts,
Even with some of the past and old energy that's within,
We never lose our connection to ourselves.
We may forget our connection to ourselves but we never lose it.
Taking a deep breath in through your nose and exhaling out through your mouth.
One more time,
Deep breath in through the nose,
Exhaling out through your mouth.
Take a moment and think about what are you feeling?
What are you doing?
What are you experiencing?
Who are you with?
When you remember those past painful or harmful experiences,
When do you notice that they come up again?
When do you notice that you feel them again?
And it's okay if nothing comes to mind.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose,
And exhaling out through your mouth.
When you think about an old experience that causes emotion to come up,
Causes pain,
Causes anger,
Causes sadness,
What do you usually feel in your body?
And where do you feel it?
Do you feel tightness in your throat?
Do you feel a tightness in your chest?
Do you feel sadness?
Do you feel butterflies in your stomach?
Does your stomach feel upset?
Do you feel exhausted?
Do you feel drained?
What feelings come up in your body that try to get your attention and tell you,
I need compassion,
I need love,
I need attention?
While focusing on that space in your body,
I'd like for you to breathe in through your nose for four,
Hold for four,
And then breathe out through your mouth for eight.
Let's repeat that again.
Breathing in through your nose for four,
Hold your breath for four,
And breathe out through your mouth for eight.
Repeat that two more times on your own.
Taking note if any emotion comes up,
Keeping focus on that space in your body that the tension shows up,
That the emotion shows up,
And breathing into that space.
Imagining that when you breathe in,
You're breathing in peace.
When you hold,
You're gathering all the tension,
And that when you breathe out,
You're releasing whatever is ready to go.
You don't have to know what it is.
Let's do that again together.
Breathing in through your nose,
Breathing in peace,
Holding all the tension that's ready to be collected,
Any stress,
And then breathing out through your mouth for eight,
Releasing whatever is ready to go.
Resuming your normal breath,
Feeling if there feels like there's any difference within your energy.
There doesn't have to be,
But just noticing if anything feels different within you.
Reminding yourself that your body is often trying to get your attention,
And it doesn't mean that anything is wrong with you.
In fact,
It means that you are connected to your emotions,
And that is evidence that we are healing.
Becoming aware of the space around you,
Moving your fingers,
Moving your toes,
And then gently opening your eyes.
Thank you so much for trusting me to guide you on this meditation.
I hope that it reminds you that you can always come back to yourself.
Thank you again,
And I'll see you in the next meditation.
