Take a moment to get comfortable.
You're welcome to lie down,
Sit,
Or be in any position that feels supportive right now.
There's nothing you need to do a certain way.
You don't need to focus perfectly or try to calm anything down.
You're just arriving.
If it feels okay,
Allow your eyes to close or keep them open with a soft,
Unfocused gaze.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and an easy breath out through your mouth.
You don't need to change your breathing after this.
Just let it return to whatever rhythm feels natural.
Begin to notice where your body is making contact,
The places where you're being supported,
The weight of your body resting into the surface beneath you.
You might notice your heels,
Your legs,
Your hips,
Your back,
Your shoulders,
Your head.
There's no need to search for anything specific.
Just notice what's already there.
If your mind wanders,
That's completely okay.
You're not doing this wrong.
Each time you notice you've shifted,
You can gently come back to the feeling of being supported.
You might imagine the ground or the surface beneath you holding your weight.
Know that you don't have to hold yourself up right now.
You're allowed to be held.
Let your jaw soften.
Your tongue rest easily in your mouth.
Your shoulders release down your back.
If there's any place in your body that feels tight or guarded,
You don't need to fix it.
You can simply let it know it doesn't have to work so hard in this moment.
Take another slow breath in and let it go.
As you settle here,
Notice the space around your body.
Notice the air on your skin.
Notice the quiet or the sounds that are in the room.
Nothing needs to change.
This is just a pause.
If it feels helpful,
You might silently remind yourself,
I'm allowed to rest here for a while.
And if that doesn't feel true today,
That's okay too.
You don't have to believe anything for this practice to be supportive.
You may notice your breathing slowing on its own,
Or your body feeling heavier,
Or maybe nothing noticeable at all.
However this moment feels is just fine.
If thoughts come up about what you need to do,
Or what the day has been like,
You can acknowledge them gently.
And then return to the simple feeling of being here.
Being supported.
Not needing to go anywhere.
This is a soft place to land.
You're welcome to stay as long as you need.
When you feel ready,
You can begin to bring a little movement back into your body.
Wiggling your fingers or your toes.
Stretching if that feels good.
There's no rush to leave this space.
You can move slowly or remain still a bit longer.
Whenever you're ready,
You can let your eyes open and return to the rest of your day.
Carrying this sense of ease with you in whatever way feels natural.
