Growth and self-empowerment.
All right,
Let's jump right into this conversation about the far-reaching effects of low self-esteem.
Stay tuned and get ready to transform your perspective on self-worth.
But first,
What is self-esteem?
That's easy.
Self-esteem is the esteem that you feel for yourself,
Right?
It is how you see and value yourself.
Okay,
That's a logical thing to say,
But how do you value something you don't know?
As we learn more about self-esteem,
We will see the importance of real self-awareness.
To put in better words,
The importance of guided and positively directed self-awareness.
This doesn't mean I'm here to say how perfect you are and that everything is going to be okay.
Who am I to say that?
This means that maybe you can look at yourself from a different angle,
Use a different perspective.
Moving on,
Let's understand the impact of low self-esteem on relationships.
Low self-esteem can significantly impact our relationships,
Both romantic and platonic.
When we lack confidence in ourselves,
It can lead to feelings of unworthiness and insecurity.
These negative self-perceptions can affect our ability to trust,
Communicate effectively and form deep connections with others.
We may struggle with setting boundaries,
Fear rejection and constantly seek validation from others.
As a result,
Our relationships may become strained and we may find ourselves in unhealthy dynamics.
It's like that person that does everything in their power to be noticed and loved or that one that accepts anything that comes their way because they don't know their own value.
Professionally speaking,
Our self-esteem plays a crucial role.
When we lack confidence in our abilities,
We may hesitate to take on new challenges,
Undervalue our skills and shy away from opportunities of growth.
This can hinder our career advancement and limit our professional success.
Low self-esteem may also affect our assertiveness,
Decision-making and ability to handle criticism constructively.
How will you expose yourself to new challenges and new opportunities?
Or how will you get what you really deserve if you don't believe that,
If you don't know yourself and don't know your value to go after what you really,
Really should be having?
Low self-esteem can take a significant toll on our mental and emotional well-being.
Negative self-talk,
Self-doubt and a constant focus on our perceived flaws can lead to increased anxiety,
Stress and even depression.
Our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves shape our overall outlook on life.
So how do we break the cycle and cultivate self-worth?
While the effects of low self-esteem may seem overwhelming,
It's important to remember that we have the power to break free from the cycle.
Cultivating self-worth is a journey that requires self-reflection,
Self-compassion and intentional action.
In this segment,
We will continue our self-reflection exercise.
As I said before,
We will make a practical exercise that will require acceptance.
But let me talk about that word for a moment since I've been misunderstood before.
Acceptance doesn't mean compliance.
Just because you accept something,
You don't need to conform yourself with it.
In our case,
It is quite the opposite.
We can only change what is and to know what is,
We need to accept it.
Today's exercise will be about our flaws.
You need to embrace everything that you are so you can start changing to who you want to be.
Write down on a list everything that you consider bad about yourself.
This time I need to emphasize the importance of writing it down and taking it out of your mind.
Accept who you are now so you can begin changing and letting go who you don't want to be anymore.
This is something only you can do,
Only you know yourself enough.
And remember your flaws are just as part of you as your qualities.
As always,
Use this list to make an action plan that only you can do for yourself.
How can you change what you feel is letting you down?
Is everything you wrote really a flaw?
If it is something impossible to change,
How can you accept it and use it to your own development?
As we wrap this episode up,
Keep reflecting on the questions I made and try to make your own questions.
By accepting who we are,
We can change.
That means our weaknesses and strengths.
Learning from our experiences,
We can step into a life of confidence and self-empowerment.
With the tools and insights shared in this episode,
I hope to inspire and empower you to embrace who you are and start your journey to get where you want to be.
Know your true worth and live a life filled with confidence and self-empowerment.
That concludes our exploration of the impact of low self-esteem on different areas of our lives.
I hope this episode has shed light on the profound effects of self-worth and provided you with valuable insights and strategies.
For building a healthy sense of self-esteem.
Remember,
You are worthy,
Deserving and capable of greatness.
Thank you for joining us on this transformative journey.
