Feeling rushed or unsettled in this moment? This simple So Hum meditation helps quiet mental chatter and ease you into a calm, grounded start to the day. By repeating "So" on the inhale and "Hum" on the exhale for a few minutes, you’ll reconnect with inner stillness and move into your day with clarity and ease. So Hum translates to “I am that”, a simple reminder that you are enough, you are present, and you are part of something greater.

So hum,

An ancient mantra that means I am that or I am pure awareness.

Let's begin.

Get comfortable.

May it be seated,

Lying down or standing still.

Allow your body to settle.

Feel the ground or the seat beneath you.

Let your shoulders soften.

If it feels right,

Gently close your eyes.

Take a smooth breath in through your nose and a slow breath out through your mouth.

Again,

Inhale smoothly.

Exhale slowly.

One more breath in and let it go.

Now as you breathe in,

Silently say so.

And as you breathe out,

Silently say hum.

Let these words match the rhythm of your breath.

So as you inhale,

Hum as you exhale.

You may wish to visualize the breath rising from the base of your spine to the center of your brain on your inhale and flowing gently back down your spine on the exhale.

Let's continue.

Inhale,

So exhale,

Hum.

Inhale,

So exhale,

Hum.

Allow your breath to guide your practice.

Follow the rhythm,

Repeating the mantra silently.

I'll mind the time here.

You stay with the mantra and stay with your breath,

So hum,

So,

So,

Now slowly bring your awareness back,

Feel into your body,

Notice your breath,

Notice the space around you.

So hum is always here for you.

A gentle reminder,

You are not the noise,

You are the stillness beneath it.

Take a breath and move gently into the rest of your day.
