Good morning,
My name is Caitlin and welcome to this morning meditation.
If you are still in bed or even seated,
Allow yourself a few moments to get comfortable and settle in.
When you are ready,
Allow your eyes to gently close or maintain a soft or partial gaze.
Gently connecting with the bed or chair beneath you and noticing the clothing or perhaps blankets against your body.
Feeling their contact and noticing the temperature of the air against any exposed parts of your skin.
And simply and gently becoming aware of your body for a few moments.
Beginning to connect with any morning sounds that you can hear near and far and allowing the sound to naturally come forward to you.
Bringing your attention to your natural breath and through your nostrils and noticing how the breath naturally wants to be.
The in breath and the out breath.
Feeling the rise and fall of your belly and chest.
And connecting with the aliveness of your body as you breathe.
As you continue to breathe,
You may like to invite a sense of calm and ease into your body with each inhale.
Perhaps allowing this feeling to spread through your entire body.
From the crown of your head down to your face.
Perhaps there's a softening of your brow and down to your jaw.
With that softening moving down through your shoulders.
Into your heart and chest.
Down to your belly.
Down your arms and into your hands.
And all the way down your legs.
And into the soles of your feet.
Perhaps noticing a sense of softness and calm spread through your entire body and allowing yourself to settle into that feeling for a moment more.
And beginning the day with an affirmation that you may like to say to yourself quietly or in your mind.
Today I choose to move through my day with ease,
Calm and presence.
Today I choose to move through my day with ease,
Calm and presence.
And repeating this affirmation to yourself once more.
Today I choose to move through my day with ease,
Calm and presence.
Taking a moment to connect with how you feel this morning.
And you may like to acknowledge any feelings that are present with kindness and compassion.
You may like to take a moment to reconnect with your breath.
And if you feel comfortable doing so,
You may like to take a slow and nourishing breath in through your nose.
Exhaling with a soft sigh out through your mouth.
Sigh.
You may like to repeat this slow and nourishing breath one more time.
And perhaps feeling a sense of freshness and of newness as you begin your day.
And when you are ready,
Gently bat open your eyes,
Connecting with the room and space around you.
Once again,
Connecting with the sounds near and far.
You may like to rub your hands together to create some warmth.
Or even rub your hands up and down your arms.
Wriggle your fingers and toes and stretch your body in a way that feels good.
Thank you for showing up for yourself this morning and joining me in this practice.
Have a great day and take care.
