Welcome,
I'm Jocelyn.
This is the third in a series of guided curiosity.
Guided visualizations to hone your muscle of curiosity and creativity in a meditative state.
This track will be diving into the environment of a meadow.
So if you can find yourself in a comfortable place,
You can be sitting or laying down and just take notice of your body.
And how your body is in space.
If you could just bring your awareness to all the edges of your body and take a deep breath in through your nose.
Opening your mouth and sighing it out.
Bringing your awareness to the top of your head.
Just a gentle awareness there.
Bringing your awareness to your eyes.
The tiny muscles behind the eyes,
The eyelids,
The globe of your eyes,
Just inviting your awareness there.
And inviting your awareness to your mouth.
The inside of your cheeks,
The roof of your mouth,
Your tongue,
The back of your tongue,
Your teeth and gums.
Letting your awareness swirl in your mouth.
Just inviting it gently.
And bringing your awareness to your throat.
The back of your neck.
Inviting your awareness to the center of your chest.
Opening your heart,
Softening the edges of your heart.
Taking a nice deep breath in through the nose.
Breathing.
Opening your mouth and sighing it out.
Feeling the edges of your heart soften.
Inviting your awareness to your shoulders,
All the way down each of your arms,
To your fingertips,
And as you invite your awareness to your fingertips,
Can you sense the temperature of the air as it moves along your fingertips?
Inviting your attention to your back,
Your upper back,
Mid back,
Low back.
Low back.
Gentle awareness.
Inviting your attention to your belly.
Taking another deep breath in through your nose.
Opening your mouth and sighing it out.
Noticing in your belly,
If that breath moves your belly at all.
Feeling the edges of your belly.
Bringing your attention gently to the pelvic bowl.
Softening.
Letting go.
And inviting your attention to your hips.
Again,
Taking a deep breath in through the nose.
Opening your mouth and sighing it out.
Softening through the hips,
A gentle invitation.
There's no manipulation here.
It is simply an invitation.
And allowing your attention and awareness to gently glide down each of your legs to the bottoms of your feet.
Gently inviting the bottoms of the feet to open,
To release any stuck energy,
Any pulling energy back out into the earth.
Taking a nice deep breath in through the nose.
Opening your mouth and sighing out.
And inviting your awareness to your ears.
Might you imagine that you could invite your ears to soften back and down.
Might you imagine that you could open your inner ears to all the vibrations and sounds around you.
And taking a nice deep breath in through the nose.
Opening the mouth and sighing out.
Opening the ears to all the vibrations around you,
All the layers of vibration and sound.
How far can you hear into the layers?
How far can you listen into the layers of sound all around you?
And we'll just take three deep breaths.
Inhaling through the nose.
Opening your mouth and sighing out.
Two more at your own pace,
Inhaling through the nose.
Feeling where your body is being breathed,
Opening your mouth and sighing out.
Where can you feel a movement from this breath?
Inhaling through your nose.
Exhaling through your mouth.
Opening your mouth and sighing out.
Might you imagine that you were in a meadow.
A meadow that surrounds you on all sides,
An open clearing.
Take a moment and just look around.
What do you see?
Can you see the horizon line?
Or does your meadow have trees that enclose it?
Or does your meadow have trees that hold it?
Look down to the ground,
To the earth.
Is your meadow full of grass?
Wild flowers?
Tall weeds?
What colors do you see?
Are they bright and summery?
Or are they muted like autumn?
Is the grass green and vibrant or is it brown?
Is the grass green and vibrant or is it brown and crunchy?
Allow yourself to see this meadow from all 360 degrees.
Are you in the center of this meadow?
Or are you on the cusp of this meadow?
How tall is the grass if there's grass or wild flowers?
Do you see any animals or people?
Is there a blanket and a picnic basket?
What do you see as you look 360 degrees in this place?
What kind of shapes do you see?
Do you see long lines,
Circles?
Maybe you see triangles in some of the leaves or grasses.
Do you see any insects or butterflies?
Looking up toward the sky,
What color is the sky?
Is it dawn or midday,
Dusk,
Midnight?
What are the variations in hue and tint of the sky?
Is the sun bright?
Are the clouds wild?
Or is it cloudless in the sky?
You might find that in your meadow,
It is raining.
As you stand in this meadow or on the cusp of this meadow,
Do you see any movement?
And take a minute to really sense what you feel in this place.
Can you sense the temperature of the air?
Are you in a sunbeam?
Or has the sun begun to set?
Do you feel wind or a breeze?
Can you feel your feet on the earth,
Grasses between your toes?
Can you feel the pulsing energy of nature around you?
Or maybe your meadow is still,
And here you feel more yourself and your own energy more than anything else.
Do you have a sense of happiness,
Freedom,
Joy?
Or does this place bring you sadness,
Loneliness?
Take a breath into this place.
Allow the air here to feed you its stories.
What kind of stories does the air hold here for you?
Does this place remind you of a memory?
Take a moment to walk a few steps on the earth here.
And as you walk,
Can you feel the earth at your feet?
What does it feel like to walk in this meadow?
And opening your ears just a little bit more,
What do you hear in this meadow?
Do you hear the rustling of grass in a breeze?
Do you hear animals or bees or birds?
Do you hear the trees on the outer edges of your meadow?
Or do you hear an airplane overhead?
Or do you hear silence?
Can you hear your breath?
Can you hear silence?
Can you hear your own heartbeat?
Can you hear as you walk in this meadow a sound from under your feet?
Take a notice of what it feels like as you walk in your mouth.
Is your mouth dry or warm?
Take a nice deep breath in this space.
And what do you smell?
Do you smell the scent of flowers,
Of grasses,
Of water that may be nearby?
What do you smell?
What aromas are present?
Everything here in this meadow has meaning for you.
It is all yours.
You might see,
Feel,
Hear something that I haven't mentioned.
It all has meaning.
Take a few minutes to allow your curiosity to unfold here.
Diving into any one of your senses and following it.
It may mean that you pick a wildflower or sit on a blanket with a picnic basket.
It may mean that you do a snow angel in the meadow.
It may mean that you put your ear to the ground.
Follow your curiosity.
Whatever catches your heart,
Follow it for a few minutes.
Deeper.
Get curious.
Ask questions of this place for yourself.
I'm going to stay quiet for a few minutes now.
Remember that you can come back to this meadow at any time.
And it may look the same.
It may look different.
It might be mostly the same,
But something new.
There's no wrong answer here.
But you can come back to this place at any time.
Any time.
And explore it.
In any way that feels correct for you.
So,
Leaving the meadow for now.
We're just going to deepen our breath for three more breaths.
Inhaling through the nose,
Allowing the air to go into your belly.
Expanding it.
Opening your mouth and sighing out.
Two more times at your own pace.
Bringing your attention and awareness gently back to your body here.
Trying to sense for those edges of your body.
You might even put a hand on your heart,
Or a hand on your heart and a hand on your belly.
And feel the breath move in your body.
You may flutter your eyes open and you may want to journal about what you've seen.
Or what you've felt.
What you've heard.
What you've tasted.
What you've smelled.
You may just want to daydream into this place a little.
What stories are here for you?
What memories?
What did your senses pick up on?
Thank you so much for joining me today on this third in a series of guided curiosities.
