Hello,
I'm glad you're here.
Take a moment to arrive in the body you are in today.
Let yourself notice how it feels to be here right now.
Living with a chronic condition often means your body stays alert,
Watching for changes,
Flare-ups,
Shifts in energy.
Even during rest,
Some part of your system may still be monitoring.
Take a breath and let yourself acknowledge that reality.
Now,
Gently turn your attention inward.
Begin to notice your body from the inside.
Let your awareness move slowly until it settles on the place that asks for your attention first,
A place that hurts,
Feels tired,
Inflamed,
Heavy,
Or simply worn down.
You don't need to choose the right place.
Let your body choose for you.
As you rest your awareness there,
Notice how that place feels,
Temperature,
Texture,
Movement,
Stillness.
There is no need to name it perfectly,
Just sense it.
Begin to bring your breath toward that area.
On the inhale,
Imagine your breath gently arriving there.
On the exhale,
Imagine a soft softening around it,
Not forcing release,
Just creating space.
Now,
Imagine warmth forming there,
A calm steady warmth,
Like sunlight through a window or a hand resting gently.
Let that warmth surround the sensation without trying to change it.
As you rest here,
Imagine your body using this pause,
Cells repairing in their own timeline,
Systems restoring balance where they can,
Your body responding to stillness.
Each moment of rest gives your body time to do its quiet work.
If emotion arises,
Grief for lost energy,
Frustration with limitations,
Sadness about unpredictability,
Notice where you feel it in your body.
Let it be held in the same warmth and attention.
Silently offer that area you're tending to a few simple words.
I see you,
I'm listening,
I love you.
Let the words sink in slowly.
Stay here for a few breaths,
Each inhale bringing presence,
Each exhale allowing ease.
Your body feels when it's met this way.
Now begin to widen your awareness.
Feel your whole body breathing,
All the places working quietly together.
Let yourself rest in that sense of wholeness.
When you are ready,
Slowly bring your attention back to the room,
Carry this with you.
Listening to your body is an act of love,
And love gives your body the time and safety it needs to repair.
