Relaxing,
Softening meditation.
Before we begin,
You can find a comfortable seat,
Maybe elevating your hips,
Bringing the knees below the hips,
Feeling your spine nice and straight.
There.
Now you can begin to settle in.
Begin to notice your breath.
Notice the rise and fall.
Maybe it's in your belly.
Maybe it's in your chest.
I'm going to mention five different body parts and as I go through them,
They're going to soften and relax.
It's called the five points of softening.
Begin with the feet.
Big inhale.
You bring energy into them and exhale.
They soften and relax.
All the muscles relax.
Now to your hands and exhale.
Release.
Relax.
Now move your attention to your eyes.
They relax.
Sockets release.
Any tension behind the eyes melts down.
Now the ears.
Release and relax.
And the space behind the ears.
And then the mouth and the jaw area.
Releases,
Relaxes.
The tongue is just laying in your mouth.
That softening follows all the way down the back of your throat,
All the way down your chest,
Your belly,
All the way to your pelvis.
And then your sphincters release and relax.
Bring your attention to the center of your being.
That little dot just in your chest,
In your heart space.
Maybe you feel this right now.
And maybe you don't.
And that's okay,
Too.
It comes with practice.
We all have our center.
And after a few times,
You'll feel it stronger and stronger.
So tap into that spot.
Whether you feel it or you're imagining it,
It's there.
Keep your focus there while your breath rises and falls.
When thoughts come,
You allow them to pass on by just like clouds in the sky.
