Flight Through The Storm - Transformational Breathwork
by Jo Riley
The storm is calling wild, untamed, unstoppable. This is not a storm to fear but one to embrace, for it comes to clear the path and awaken your hidden strength. Let the winds lift you beyond what you thought possible. Let the rain cleanse you of all that no longer serves. Let thunder crack open old walls and lightning illuminate the truth buried beneath. You are not at the mercy of the storm you are one with it. In this powerful journey, you will soar through chaos and find the peace that waits on the other side. Surrender to the storm’s wisdom and rise transformed. Not suitable for cardiovascular issues, high blood pressure, epilepsy, seizures, recent surgery and pregnancy.

Welcome beautiful souls.
You have entered a sacred space,
A space of truth,
Of healing,
Of becoming.
Here,
You are safe to feel,
Safe to release,
Safe to rise.
In this sanctuary,
You are held by the breath,
By the earth,
By the infinite wisdom that lives within you.
Today's journey is called flight through the storm.
And it invites you to meet your inner storm,
The fears,
The doubts,
The stories,
The patterns that have held you captive.
But we do not come here to fight the storm.
We do not come here to flee from it.
We come here to fly through it.
Imagine now the darkening sky,
The winds beginning to stir,
The wild energy that swirls around you.
But this time,
You are not beneath it.
This time,
You are the storm rider,
The dragon flyer,
And the one with wings strong enough to soar through the winds of change.
Your breath is your medicine.
Your breath is your anchor.
Your breath is your guide.
With each inhale,
You draw in courage.
With each exhale,
You release what no longer serves you.
Your breath is your wings.
Your courage is your compass.
Your heart is your home.
This is a practice of resilience,
Of trust,
Of deep inner power.
Together,
We will ride the storm winds.
And together,
We will land stronger,
Clearer,
Freer,
And more connected to the truth of who you are.
In this journey,
We will be using euphoric connective breathing,
A continuous circular breath with no pause between the inhale and the exhales.
This type of breathing increases oxygen flow,
Opens the energy channels in the body,
And invites deep emotional release and clarity.
We will flow with rounds of active breathing paired with conscious breath holds,
Allowing your nervous system to shift gently,
Yet powerfully,
Creating space for transformation.
Remember,
There is no right or wrong here,
Just your breath,
Your experience,
Your journey.
So trust your body and allow yourself to fully surrender into the process.
Now,
I will guide you through the active breathing technique that we'll be using through this journey.
It will sound like this.
So steady inhales through the mouth,
Followed by full active exhales through the mouth,
Releasing completely and allowing the next inhale to come naturally.
So let's practice this breath together for three rounds.
Beautiful.
Each round will bring you deeper into presence,
More grounded,
And more open to the experience ahead.
Now,
It's time.
So find a quiet,
Safe place where you can lie down comfortably,
Somewhere you won't be disturbed.
Gently lower yourself onto your back,
Allowing your spine to lengthen,
Creating spaciousness through the whole body.
Soften your shoulders away from your ears.
Let your heart gently open,
Wide like the sky.
Your arms rest easily by your sides,
Palms facing up if it feels good for you.
Close your eyes,
Arrive fully in the sacred moment.
Feel the surface beneath you steady and supportive,
Holding you,
Cradling you in safety and love.
You are safe here.
You are supported.
Before we begin,
Let's take a few grounding breaths to reset and fully arrive.
So breathe in slowly and deeply in through the nose and sigh it all out,
Your mouth releasing any tension or tightness.
And again,
Take a nice deep inhale in through the nose and sigh it out through the mouth,
Softening even more.
Feel your body surrendering to the support,
Your breath beginning to slow and deepen.
Let's do one more together.
So deep inhale in through the nose and a long gentle sigh out through the mouth.
Your breath,
Your presence,
Your willingness to meet yourself fully.
Now that you have arrived and settled in the space,
It's time to set a clear,
Powerful intention for this journey.
So place your awareness gently at your heart center.
And I just want you to ask yourself,
What do I need most from this journey?
What am I ready to release?
What strength or quality do I choose to embody as I fly through my storm?
There's no need to force anything.
Let whatever arises come with ease,
Whether it's healing,
Courage,
Freedom,
Or simply presence.
When it feels clear,
Silently or aloud,
Speak your intention.
Let it be your guide,
Your compass as we journey together through the storm.
Enjoy these last few moments of stillness.
Enjoy the journey because we are going on a ride.
I will see you on the other side.
Let's begin with the act of breathing.
So on my count,
Three,
Two,
One.
Open your mouth nice and wide.
Two inhales,
One exhale.
Into the belly,
Into the chest,
Exhale and let go.
No pause,
No force,
Just breathe.
Feel your diaphragm expand with every breath at the front,
At the back,
At the sides.
Into the belly,
Into the chest,
Exhale,
Let go.
Feel how your breath builds a foundation beneath you,
Strong,
Steady,
Unshakeable.
With each inhale,
You're gathering power.
With each exhale,
You're letting go of what weighs you down.
The storm may be waiting,
But right now,
Right here,
You are preparing your wings.
So keep taking those nice,
Deep breaths.
Into the belly,
Into the chest,
Exhale and let go.
Feel the rise and fall,
Feel your diaphragm expand,
Bringing as much oxygen into the body as possible.
Let your breath open the body,
Open your heart,
Open the space within you.
Each breath is fuel for your flight.
Each breath lights the flame of courage that already burns inside.
The winds may come,
The clouds may gather,
But you,
You are ready to rise.
If your mind drifts,
Return to your breath.
If fear whispers,
Answer with the rhythm of your inhale and exhale.
Feel your ribs expand,
Your heart lift,
Your energy build.
Into the belly,
Into the chest,
Into the chest,
Exhale and let go.
Each breath a little bit deeper than the breath before.
You are becoming the storm rider,
The one who remembers they were born for the sky.
Let the breath move any tension,
Let it clear old stories,
Let it remind you,
You are not small.
Keep going,
Steady and true.
Into the belly,
Into the chest,
Exhale and let go.
Take a few more deep breaths here.
We're about to go do our first breath hold.
And on my count,
Three,
Two,
One.
Exhale fully,
Let it all go,
Then take a powerful big inhale and hold it.
Feel the quiet after the breath,
The stillness beneath the surface.
This is where you meet your storm.
The winds may rage in your mind,
But here in this pause,
You find your center.
Keep holding.
Notice how the body holds you,
The ground supports you,
The heart steadies you.
If discomfort arises,
Greet it gently,
You are safe.
Let the pause show you,
You are stronger than the noise,
Braver than the fear.
In the space without breath,
You discover that you are enough,
Exactly as you are.
Keep holding.
The storm outside may swirl,
But inside you are calm,
The I,
The truth.
Feel your strength holding,
Steady in the silence.
You are not the storm,
You are the one who flies through it.
Feel this truth.
And on my count,
Exhale fully,
Three,
Two,
One.
Come back to your breath,
Come back to the technique.
Two breaths in,
One breath out.
Into the belly,
Into the chest,
Exhale and let go.
Now your wings stretch wide,
You are in the air,
Meeting the storm face to face.
Let your breath be your guide,
Your engine,
Your power.
Each inhale draws in courage,
Each exhale releases doubts.
Feel the winds howl,
But you,
You ride them.
Every breath is a choice,
To stay,
To face,
To rise.
Keep breathing,
Breathe deeper.
If fear comes,
Breathe through it.
If the mind growls loud,
Let the breath get be louder.
Lean into the discomfort,
Breathe deeper and fuller.
Into the belly,
Into the chest,
Exhale and let go.
Feel emotion move,
Old energy,
Old stories,
Anything ready to leave.
Let the storm wash through you,
Let the breath clear what you're ready to let go of.
Your breath is a bridge between fear and freedom.
Stay with the rhythm,
Stay with your wings.
You are not lost in the storm,
You are mastering it.
Let your breath weave light into the dark.
Let your breath remind you,
You are safe,
You are strong.
Keep going,
Keep breathing,
This is your becoming.
Okay,
On my count,
Three,
Two,
One,
Exhale fully,
Let it all go.
Then take a powerful big inhale and hold.
Feel the hush of the storm center,
The winds have fallen away,
The noise is gone.
Here,
You are suspended in peace,
In the quiet clarity of your own heart.
Feel the body at ease,
Feel the mind soften.
You are the eye of the storm,
Untouchable,
Unshaken and free.
Keep holding,
Let this pause show you the power is within,
Not in the chaos around you.
If the mind tries to pull you,
Return to the stillness.
Here in the eye,
You see with new vision.
Here,
You remember the storm is not the enemy,
It is your teacher.
You are the storm's master now.
And on my count,
Exhale fully,
Three,
Two,
One.
Come back to the breath,
Come back to the technique.
Two breaths in,
One breath out,
Into the belly,
Into the chest,
Exhale,
Let go,
Feel the expansion.
With every inhale,
You are rising higher beyond the storm,
In the clear blue sky.
Let every breath fill you with light,
Let every breath lift you beyond the limits you once believed in.
The storm is behind you,
Ahead,
Freedom,
Possibility,
New horizons.
If you can,
Breathe a little deeper,
A little faster,
And a little bit fuller.
This is your opportunity to really let it move.
As we're nearly at the end of the act of breathing,
Give it all you've got.
Two breaths in,
One breath out.
Let your breath carry gratitude for your courage,
Your strength,
For your beauty.
Feel the joy of the open sky.
With every inhale expands your light,
Every exhale releases what no longer serves you.
Feel the storm's lessons now,
Written in your bones,
Your breath,
Your being.
You have flown through,
You have become.
Stay with the breath,
Stay with the flight.
This is your truth,
You are free.
Keep breathing,
Deeper and fuller.
And on my count,
We're going to come into our final breath hold.
So three,
Two,
One,
Exhale fully,
Then take one last massive inhale and hold it.
Feel the vastness all around you,
Limitless sky,
Endless light,
No storm,
No boundary,
No fear.
Keep holding,
You are the one in the sky now,
Boundless,
Free,
And whole.
Feel how light the body is,
Feel how steady the heart is.
You are the sky,
You are the peace.
Rest in the space,
The openness,
The truth of who you are.
Let this pause be your reminder,
The storm was never bigger than you.
You are the storm breaker,
The sky dancer,
The light bringer.
And on my count,
You can let it all go with a big sigh.
Three,
Two,
One.
Come back to your breath.
Let your breath return naturally.
Feel the body resting,
The heart softening,
The mind clearing.
Come back to your natural breath rhythm,
So breathing in and out the nose.
Feel the belly rise and fall,
Slow and gentle.
Feel the strength that now lives in you,
Feel the freedom that you claimed.
Rest here as long as you need to in gratitude,
In peace,
In the knowing that you have flown through your storm.
Stay here as long as you need to,
To gather yourself and integrate.
And when you're ready,
You can slowly begin to move your fingers and toes,
Your wrists and ankles.
Maybe move the neck side to side slowly and gently.
If you want,
You can bring your knees into your chest and give yourself a beautiful hug.
Take a big stretch if you feel.
Come back to this moment.
Alive and free.
Welcome back and well done,
Beautiful souls.
