This Tap will help you shine love and compassion on the part of you that is used to giving yourself a hard time. Through this love and understanding we can clear the negative emotions that keep us stuck in old patterns and allow ourselves to admit "I'm doing a good job."

Hello and welcome to this tap about self-confidence.

I'm doing a good job.

If you're familiar with EFT or tapping,

That's amazing.

We'll be getting started momentarily and if you've never done tapping before,

We're going to do two things in our time together.

Tap lightly on specific parts of our body while we talk about in a call and response fashion the topic at hand.

Ideally,

You'll say the words I'm saying out loud,

But if you can't,

Just tap along and repeat them in your head.

A gentle reminder that if I say something that doesn't resonate with you,

Feel free to replace the words so the statement makes the most sense for you.

The theme of this tap is I'm doing a good job and I've noticed with so many of my clients that this is a very emotional thing to say.

We're often very hard on ourselves.

So take a moment and close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose and an audible exhale out your mouth and identify what area of your life you've been really hard on yourself in.

There may be many,

But just pick one for today's tap.

You can come back and do this tap on all the other ones if you'd like.

What have you been really hard on yourself about?

Is it something to do with your health,

Maybe your job,

A business you run,

A relationship you're in as a parent with your parent,

Maybe even the fact that you aren't in a relationship?

Pick something that you often beat yourself up about.

And as you tune into that topic,

I'd like you to give this topic a rating.

How hard on yourself do you feel about this thing in the current moment?

A one being not so hard on myself and a 10 being extremely hard on myself.

I'm the most hard on myself I could be.

And we'll be checking in on this number as we tap together.

As we tap,

You might experience some yawning,

Burping,

Sleepiness,

All forms of off-gassing as we tap into some of these feelings.

So feel free to let them fly.

You can open your eyes at any point or keep them closed if that's more comfortable for you.

And when you're ready,

Moving your hands onto your chest and finding the sore spots on the front of the chest.

And we'll start here by giving them a gentle rub,

Taking full responsibility for your own well-being and repeating after me.

I can be really hard on myself.

Deep breath in through the nose,

Audible exhale.

I can be really hard on myself.

I can be really hard on myself,

Especially about and say the thing you chose.

Now tapping the eyebrow point,

Even though I'm really hard on myself,

I'm open to loving and respecting how I feel.

Tapping the side of the eye.

I've been telling myself you're not good enough.

Tapping under the eye.

I've been telling myself you should be doing better.

Tapping under the nose.

Somewhere along the way,

I started telling myself you're not good enough and you should be doing better.

Tapping under the lip.

Somewhere along the way,

I started telling myself you're not good enough and you should be doing better.

Deep breath.

Tapping all over the chest.

Even though I've been telling myself you're not good enough and you should be doing better,

I love and forgive myself.

And if that's really difficult for you to say,

You can say I'm open to loving and forgiving myself.

So let's try that one more time.

Even though I've been telling myself you're not good enough,

You should be doing better.

I'm open to loving and forgiving myself.

Deep breath.

Tune in for a moment and ask yourself,

Were these messages of not being good enough or that you should be better told to you by someone else?

Maybe it was as a young person.

And if not,

If they were coming from you,

How early did you start telling them to yourself?

When you're ready,

Repeating again after me.

I've been hearing this message for a long time.

Tapping the top of the ribs.

I've been hearing this message for a long time.

Tapping the sides of the ribs.

I've been hearing this message or I've been telling myself this message for a long time.

Moving to your inner wrist.

Since I was how old?

Since I was,

I've been told or telling myself I'm not good enough and I should be doing better.

Deep breath.

Tapping the top of the thumb.

It's possible that whomever has been telling me this message was trying to protect me.

Tapping the top of the index finger.

It's possible that whomever has been telling me this message was trying to protect me.

Tapping the top of the middle finger.

So I learned to try and protect myself from being hurt.

Tapping the top of the middle finger.

It's possible that whomever has been telling me this message was trying to protect me.

Tapping the top of the pinky.

So I learned to try and protect myself by being hard on myself.

Deep breath.

Tapping the karate chop point.

It's possible that whomever has been telling me this message was trying to motivate me to do better.

Tapping the top of the head.

It's possible that whomever has been telling me this message was trying to motivate me in some way.

Tapping the inner eyebrows.

So I learned,

Tapping the side of the eye,

To try and motivate myself by being hard on myself.

Tapping underneath the eye.

So I learned to try and motivate myself by being hard on myself.

Tapping under the nose.

Even though I've been hard on myself,

I'm open to loving and forgiving myself.

Deep breath.

Tapping under the chin.

Tuning in.

Where's that number that you felt that you identified when you started this tap?

Tapping on your chest.

Do you feel it dropping?

Maybe it's going up by putting attention on the issue.

I just want you to notice where you're at.

And again,

Repeating after me.

Another way I've been hard on myself is comparing myself to others.

Tapping the top of the ribs.

Another way I've been hard on myself is comparing myself to others.

Another way I've been hard on myself is comparing myself to others.

Tapping the side of the ribs.

When it comes to,

And say the issue you chose,

When it comes to,

I've been comparing myself to other people.

Tapping the inner wrist.

I've been telling myself they're better than me.

Tapping the top of the thumb.

I've been telling myself they're doing it better than me.

Tapping the top of the index finger.

When I look around,

I use other people to make me feel bad about myself.

Deep breath.

Tapping the middle finger.

When I look around,

I use other people to make me feel bad about myself.

One more deep breath.

Tapping under the ring finger.

There's a part of me,

There's a part of me that thinks if I can feel bad enough about myself,

I might change.

Tapping the pinky.

There's a part of me that thinks if I can feel bad enough about myself,

I might change.

Tapping the side of the hand.

There's a part of me that thinks if I can feel bad enough about myself,

I might change.

Tapping the top of the head.

Even though I've been trying to change through feeling bad about myself,

I'm open to loving and forgiving myself.

Even though I've been trying to change through feeling bad about myself,

Tapping the side of the eye,

I'm open to loving and forgiving myself.

Tapping under the eye on the cheekbone.

I've been believing that being hard on myself might do some good in my life.

Tapping under the nose.

I've been believing that being hard on myself might do some good in my life.

Maybe it has.

Tapping under the lips.

There's a part of me that is afraid of what might happen if I let go of being hard on myself.

Tapping the chest.

There's a part of me that is afraid of what might happen if I let go of being hard on myself.

Tapping the top of the ribs.

Even though I'm afraid of letting go of being hard on myself,

Tapping the side of the ribs,

I'm open to exploring what this might feel like.

Deep breath.

Tapping the inner wrist.

Even though I'm afraid of letting go of being hard on myself,

I'm open to exploring what this might feel like.

Tapping the top of the thumb.

What would it feel like if I acknowledge that in this area,

You can say your area,

Tapping the top of the index finger,

What would it feel like if I acknowledge that in this area,

A part of me is doing a good job.

Tapping the middle finger.

Middle finger.

Maybe even a really good job.

Tapping under the ring finger.

It's safe for me to acknowledge all the ways I've been doing a really good job.

Tapping the pinky.

It's safe for me to acknowledge all the ways I've been doing a really good job with what?

One more time.

Tapping the karate chop point.

It's safe for me to acknowledge all the ways I've been doing a really good job.

Say your item.

Deep breath.

Tapping the top of the head.

I've been doing the best I can.

Tapping the eyebrows.

I've been doing the best I can.

Tapping the sides of the eyes.

I've been doing the best I can.

Tapping the cheekbones.

I've been doing the best I can.

Tapping under the nose.

I've been doing the best I can and it turns out the best I can is a really good job.

Tapping under the lip.

Despite all the circumstances I face,

Tapping the chest,

That are challenging for me,

I've been doing a really good job.

Tapping the top of the ribs.

Despite all the circumstances I face that are challenging for me,

I've been doing a really good job.

Tapping the sides of the ribs.

I've been doing a really good job.

Deep breath.

Tapping the inner wrist.

Despite the fact that I didn't have good role models in this area,

Tapping the top of the thumb,

Despite the fact that I didn't have good role models in this area,

Tapping the index finger,

I've been doing a really good job.

Tapping the middle finger.

Despite the fact that nobody taught me how to do this well,

I've been doing a really good job.

Tapping under the ring finger.

Despite the fact that nobody taught me how to do this well,

I've been doing a really good job.

Yeah,

You have.

Tapping the pinky.

Despite everything I've faced in my life,

I've been doing a really good job.

Tapping the middle finger.

Despite everything I've faced in my life,

I've been doing a really good job.

Deep breath.

I'm doing a really good job.

Tapping the eyebrow point.

I'm doing a really good job.

Tapping the sides of the eye.

It's safe for me,

Tapping under the eye,

To see how good of a job I'm actually doing.

Tapping under the nose.

It's safe for me to see how good of a job I'm actually doing.

Tapping under the lip.

I'm doing a really good job.

Deep breath.

Tapping the chest.

I'm doing a really good job and it's safe for me to see how good of a job I'm actually doing.

And when you're ready,

Tapping all over the body,

Telling yourself,

You're doing a good job.

I love you.

Maybe anything else really positive you want to say to yourself.

And when you're done,

Gently resting your hands in your lap,

Returning to noticing your breath,

Going in and out,

Grounding yourself in this feeling,

Checking in with your number.

Where is that number that you identified earlier?

Taking one more deep breath in through the nose and out the mouth and moving into the next part of your day.

Thank you for being here with me.

Wow that session was so helpful and I feel like my mind and body really needed to calm down. I cried a lot at first then laughed and by the end I felt lighter and happier to be here on Earth at this time. Thank you very much Amanda. I’ll be coming back to this practice and practicing more tapping 🙏🏽🫶🏽
