Today is about how to come home,
How to feel safe in your body.
When you're feeling overwhelmed,
Overstimulated,
And you don't know what to do with this emotion,
A strong emotion such as sadness,
Rage or fear,
You're not defined by your emotions.
You're not too much.
You are perfect as you are.
This meditation is about feeling safe with the unknown.
And I want to invite you to feel this intensity through your body so that you can self-soothe,
Finding your center again.
Take your time,
Sitting down comfortably or lying down,
Whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
Either eyes closed or eyes open,
Rolling back your shoulders,
Opening your heart,
Unlock your jaws.
Notice where there is a tension where you hold that big emotion in your body.
Breathing in and breathe out through your mouth.
And again,
Breathing in,
Hold,
And breathe out.
Another three breaths at your own rhythm.
Counting,
Inhale for five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
Hold.
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
I invite you to place one or two hands on your heart and bring your awareness on the sensation,
Talking to yourself out loud or in silence,
Saying,
I am listening,
I'm here for you.
Feel free to have a sigh,
Rolling back your shoulders again,
Inhaling and breathe out.
Tune in into your body,
Say out loud what's going on and breathe through the sensation.
Have a sigh,
Big belly,
Letting it all out.
And again,
Let's do it together.
Breathing in through your nose,
Hold,
And like a wave,
Letting go.
Feel free to make some noise and to move gently your body,
Whether you're lying down or sitting down,
A gentle roll,
Circular movements,
Very gentle.
Or maybe you want to stay still,
However you feel,
Giving it some space to what is it that needs to be expressed and let out of your body.
Coming back into your heart,
What is it that you are feeling?
Take a deep breath.
Whatever you're feeling,
Any big emotions,
It's all valid and it's safe.
All I invite you to do is feel coming back into your body,
Saying out loud to yourself or in silence,
If you're surrounded by people,
I am listening,
I'm safe,
I love you.
I am listening,
J'écoute,
I love you,
Je t'aime,
I'm safe,
Je suis en sécurité.
Take another deep breath in through your nose and breathe out.
I'm inviting the adult in you to come and meet the little you and ask the little you what they need to feel safer right now.
Remember that you're protecting them and that everything is okay and gonna be okay.
What is it that you need to feel safer?
Give yourself all the time that you need.
Come back in the room where you are and notice what is around you.
Keeping your hands on your heart and say to yourself,
I'm here for you,
I love you,
I feel safe.
Whatever resonates the most with you,
Keep repeating this sentence whenever you feel overwhelmed,
Scared,
Not understanding yourself.
It's okay not to know,
You're here for yourself.
We'll stay here for another couple of minutes and notice what feels more relaxed in your body,
What feels safe in your body right now.
