This meditation is about finding balance, its about experiencing the love at the core of your experience even as you honor the grief. When you have experienced a major loss, when the body of someone or some being you love has died the feelings may be confusing and intense. Even over time, the grief will ebb and flow, sometimes flooding you with emotion and other times, perhaps, feeling distant. Grief is a journey that you take with your loved one in your heart every step of the way.

The heart of loss is eternal love.

Close your eyes and notice your breath.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Coming to a place of stillness.

When you're grieving,

When someone you love has died,

Your healing may feel slow and unsteady.

The pain and raw emotion that you experience in response to your loss may continue to surprise you.

You don't get over grief.

You learn to live with it.

You learn to integrate it.

And you learn that your grief only exists because love exists.

You are who you are now because you loved your dear one.

You are who you are now because you were loved in return.

Close relationships are complex and you may be feeling a wide range of emotions.

Yet always at the heart of grief is love.

And that love is imprinted upon you,

Woven within you.

And that love never dies.

Let's go on a journey together.

We're going to travel within by using A,

B,

C as our guide.

A for acknowledge,

B for breath,

And C for center.

Let's begin with A.

Acknowledge your experience.

I invite you to begin by allowing yourself to simply relax into what your senses notice all around you.

Listen to the sound of my voice as it rises and falls.

As I pause my voice,

Notice the details around you.

The details of the background music.

Can you even hear the sound of your heartbeat?

The sound of your breath?

Even as these sounds continue,

Can you feel your body supported as you sit or lie down?

Can you feel the points of contact on your skin,

On your clothes?

Allow yourself to notice the feel of your feet and hands as they rest.

Just acknowledge your experience of being here now.

With B,

I invite you to notice your breathing.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

Feel the texture and temperature of the air going in and out of your nostrils.

This is the breath of life.

You are here.

You are breathing.

You are here to continue living.

Your dear one is the wind beneath your wings.

The wind at your back.

Breathe in your love for them.

Breathe out your sorrow.

Breathe in their love for you.

Breathe out your sorrow.

Breathe in love.

Breathe out sorrow.

Breathe in love.

Breathe out sorrow.

With C,

I invite you to imagine dropping into your center.

The center channel in your body running from head to toe.

And imagine dropping into your heart,

Into your heart space.

There at the center of you,

Protected from the sorrow,

Protected from pain,

And all of the brokenness at the very core is love.

Imagine the love you hold as a warm light.

Notice its color and brightness.

This warm light symbolizes your love for your dear one and their love for you.

Let this warm light expand within your body,

Shining out of your heart,

Filling your body,

Shining into your legs and arms.

Love illuminates your being.

The light of their love is as inseparable from you as your love is from them.

This love is eternal and will always be with you,

Woven within you.

Woven within you.

And now noticing your breath.

Noticing your breath.

Noticing the feel of the air on your skin.

Back to the sound of my voice.

Coming back into the room in which you are resting.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

You are here now.

You are here now.

And you are on a journey.

You may now open your eyes.

And return to your day or rest into your night.

You may now open your eyes and return to your day or rest into your night.

Peace.
