Inner Self Reset
by Ashley
Sometimes we need to reset ourselves and find our inner truth, our inner self. This is a combination of a few techniques to help you find the unique YOU that's inside of you. You are one of a kind. The authentic version of you is a necessity for this life and world we live in. Lets spend 30 minutes rediscovering that version of you.

Believing in yourself is a full-time job.
It's very vulnerable to start something new,
Chapter,
Job,
Relationship,
And to have to reintroduce yourself to the world in a new way.
But that the other way doesn't exist still.
I am complex.
We are complex.
You have to be your own fairy godmother,
Your biggest cheerleader,
Your number one fan.
I don't know about you,
But sometimes I have these great ideas,
And then I get stuck in the process.
So I put them on pause.
It's often because I've told myself I can't do it,
It's too hard,
Or it's not good enough.
So I just throw in the towel.
I give up.
I start to put limitations on myself.
My thoughts get the best of me.
I want you to find a comfortable space where you can be as distraction-free as possible during this slice of time we have today.
You can lay down if you have space.
Place a cushion under your head or under your knees to release the pressure off of your lower back.
If you are sitting,
Rest your back against a chair and allow your feet to be planted on the floor.
Let your eyelids feel heavy.
Breathe.
Before we leap into discovering the deepest versions of ourselves,
I want you to take this moment to wiggle your body like you are one of the blow-up inflatable people outside a car dealership.
Allow yourself to look ridiculous and allow the laughter to come.
You can roll your wrists,
Move your head side to side,
Rock your knees back and forth.
Find whatever last bit of movement you need to find stillness the rest of the practice.
Feel the earth beneath you.
This is called grounding and it anchors us to the earth and its natural electric charge.
A moment for us to recharge our batteries.
Once you find a comfortable space,
Turn all your focus to your breath.
In your mind's eye,
You can say,
I am inhaling on the inhale and I am exhaling on the exhale.
If that helps anchor you here right now.
Today I want to focus on dusting off the limitations you put on yourself and raise your inner vibration.
We are all made of energy,
Light.
So let us give into that,
Not give up.
Let's find your sparkle to make you shine in the way that only you can.
That's the real secret of life.
There is only one version of you in the world.
You are one of a kind,
Unique.
Once you step into who you truly are,
You being that highest version of yourself,
You'll find so much more peace and ease in your day.
Your vibration will match the life that you want.
You'll find that your purpose on this great big earth is to do just that.
Be you.
I'm learning that now too.
I'm learning the acceptance of the past,
Present,
And what is to come.
I'm learning to let go of ideas of how I thought my life would look.
I am just showing up here now in this moment.
You are made up of moments,
Memories,
Fears,
Hopes,
And dreams.
You are complex,
Vast.
You and I are more than what other people see us as.
We are more than what our thoughts make us believe we are.
We are each unique,
And I want to spend some time unearthing that.
In a single breath,
More molecules of air will pass through your nose than all the grains of sand on all the world's beaches.
Trillions and trillions of them.
That is a piece from one of my favorite books by James Nestor called Breath.
Breathing is the one thing that we do unconsciously,
But we also have a choice to do it consciously.
It's the conscious breaths that mean something to our bodies and our souls.
It's the place where we are gifted the chance to connect with our higher selves.
All you have to do right now is breathe.
You have permission to take some space for yourself at the top and bottom of your inhales and exhales.
Allow that pause to grow,
Hold,
Connect.
This is the space of change,
Expansion,
And we have to grow in order to move forward.
Just focus on your breath.
We're going to take a few inhales and exhales together.
On the inhale,
I want you to let the cool air enter through your nose.
And on the exhale,
I want you to verbally sigh everything out,
Letting everything that you are thinking and feeling go.
This is time for you,
The inner you,
The one only you can get to know.
And that vibration in your throat from the sound is a release.
It's your body letting go of whatever is stored in that center.
So let's inhale together,
Exhale and make some noise.
If it makes you laugh,
Let the laughter come and then let it go.
You really needed that release.
Inhale and hold it at the top.
Exhale through your mouth.
Let's do one more connected together.
Inhale through your nose,
Exhale through your mouth.
Let it all go.
Allow your breath to return to its natural flow.
Permit yourself to melt into this moment like candle wax moving away from a flame.
Breathing intensely like that ignites your vagus nerve,
The longest nerve running from your brain to your stomach.
This nerve affects your mood,
Immune system and digestion.
We all store emotions in our bodies when we don't express them.
They show up somewhere.
My emotions show up in my belly.
So deep breaths really help.
Allow your breath to be natural,
True to you.
Connect with it.
Now that we've arrived here in this moment,
I want to do a body scan,
A check-in with each of your energy centers to help you find some balance and relief.
All you have to do is listen and breathe.
Our bodies are like machines,
Always moving.
They have their own ways of doing things without our help.
It's just all working together for your greater good.
There are seven energetic spaces within our existence.
I want you to think of them as fans spinning.
They put out our energy into the world.
And when they are in unison,
We are in flow.
Having all the fans running at the same speed is attainable.
We just have to focus on breath.
All you have to do is breathe.
As we move through the body,
Draw air in through your nose,
Through your lungs,
Allowing your belly to expand and let it leave the same way that it came.
You can place your hand on your belly to help you feel the deeper connection with your breath,
The rise and the fall.
And if you need to spend extra time at any center,
Allow yourself to breathe there more deeply for a little longer.
Allow your focus to drift to the crown of your head,
The very top of your existence.
Breathe into this space,
The crown chakra.
This is your connection to source,
God,
The universe.
This is the place where we encounter nirvana and bliss.
Move down your face to your forehead.
Let your belly rise and fall with each breath.
Move down between your eyebrows.
This is your third eye chakra,
Where you receive information about yourself and about the world.
Allow your focus to drift to your cheeks,
Your lips,
Your tongue.
Relax your jaw and remove your tongue from the roof of your mouth.
Breathe as you move down your neck to your throat,
The throat chakra.
Breathe in to this space and breathe out.
This is the place of voicing your expressions and finding your creativity.
Relax your shoulders,
Move to your chest and find your heart.
Breathe into it and let it expand,
Your heart chakra.
Discover more love and compassion for yourself and for others with each inhale and exhale.
Move down your chest,
Breathe through your ribs,
The solar plexus chakra,
Self-confidence,
Self-discipline and wisdom.
If you've ever had a gut feeling,
This is where it stems from.
Move your breath to the place behind the belly button and three inches below and breathe into your sacral chakra.
This is the chakra linked to emotions and desire.
Move down your hips all the way down to the base of your spine,
Your tailbone.
The root chakra grounds you to the earth.
It's also the space for adrenaline and fight or flight.
Allow your breath to move down your thighs,
Over your kneecaps,
Your shins and your feet.
Feel each toe as you breathe and acknowledge the space in between.
Be here,
Be still.
Feel your body melt into the floor beneath you.
Your inhale and exhale coming with ease,
Thoughts drifting away,
Grounding every bit of your body to the earth.
I want you to imagine you are standing on a beach,
One of my favorite places to be.
What does the beach look like?
You can feel the cold sand between your toes,
Smell the salty air,
Hear the cry of seagulls in the distance.
There are waves washing over your feet.
What does the water feel like?
Discover the texture of the sand between your toes and breathe.
We are made up of water,
It's part of how we survive in life,
Just like the breath.
They sustain us.
Feel the cool air entering your nose and warm air leaving.
As you discover the waves are moving in unison with you,
Your flow of breath.
Our thoughts are like waves in the ocean.
They come and go with whatever tide or season of life we are in.
We're often pulled by their current into emotions that can drown us.
We are like the ocean,
We have deep,
Dark and undiscovered places within ourselves.
I want you to take a step out into the ocean.
Go about knee deep and notice the difference of the resistance from when you were on the shore.
We are often caught standing knee deep in the waves between the unknown of life and the unknown within ourselves.
The waves will always say hello to the shore and then bid it farewell,
Just like our thoughts will keep coming and going.
As you make your way back to the shore,
Notice that the waves can't stay on the shore.
They are set to come and go.
They can't stay unless something unnatural happens.
It's a beautiful reminder that our thoughts shouldn't be stewed upon because it will cause a storm.
We should let them come and thank them for the reminder as they leave.
It's our responsibility to find ourselves in the ocean with the waves matching their rhythm.
They are doing the dance we do in our subconscious,
The layer behind the masks and ideas of who we are,
The truest version of you.
Detach from your thoughts.
Let the ocean run its course,
Come back to the present moment in this room at ease,
In flow.
We're so lucky to get to shift our focus to breathing,
Accepting,
Acknowledging,
Forgiving and loving ourselves just a little bit more.
That is all the universe asks of us.
A state of detachment from the things of the world,
Emotional states,
Past events,
Our expectations and the limitations we put on ourselves.
This is the space for you where you are truly who you are,
Your inner self.
And a final few moments here,
Breathing in the trillions of molecules that help you shine,
That help you glow from the inside out,
That help you become you,
The version of you that is a gift to the world and the people around you.
Just breathe.
I want you to acknowledge the presence of the floor beneath you.
If you want to remain in stillness,
Please do that for yourself.
If you are ready to move on,
Start to find some soft movement,
Wiggling your fingers and toes.
Go as slow as you need to.
With intention,
Guide your head side to side,
Waking up your neck muscles.
You can roll out your wrists and ankles,
Waking up your arms and legs.
Take whatever movements you need.
I like to end with a big stretch because I feel like it's the body's way of saying,
I am awakened.
So reach your hands over your head and take in a giant stretch.
Get as big as you can possibly get.
Take up as much space as you can possibly take.
All of this space is yours.
Thank you for taking some time out today to support me,
But more importantly,
To support yourself.
I have found that embracing a practice of meditation,
Mindfulness,
Has helped me with anxiety,
Feelings of not being good enough,
And just learning how to actually live in the present moment.
It's a lot more uncomfortable than people realize,
But it eventually finds its ease and flow.
I hope you discovered something about yourself today.
And take that piece of yourself and let it shine.
I'm so grateful I have been able to share that gift with you,
And I'm grateful to know you.
You can open your eyes whenever you're ready and continue on with your story and your journey of life.
Thank you.
