Hello,
I'm Adam.
Welcome to this guided meditation where I'll be guiding you to explore the source of loving kindness and compassion that exists within you.
Learning to be compassionate,
Understanding love and experiencing joy.
That's our purpose,
Our reason for being here.
Learning compassionate may be difficult because in order to feel compassion for others without judging them we often have to go through difficult times ourselves.
It is usually our own pain and problems that makes us compassionate because we can then relate to others suffering.
And understanding love,
It may have taken years.
Many are heartbreaks and much searching until we discover that the key to love is in our own heart.
So don't give up.
Our work here is to uncover a timeless infinite source of loving kindness that may be buried under layers of protection that have settled around your heart like mud settles over a lotus flower.
Our work here will allow that flower to bloom.
To begin with take a comfortable seat,
Maybe in a chair or sitting cross-legged on a cushion.
Make sure that you can sit upright with your hips easily rolling forwards,
Feeling the natural curve of your lower back.
Take one slow deep breath in.
Hold for a moment and then let the breath out slowly and gently.
Become aware of your sitting bones.
Feel where they meet with the surface you're sitting on.
On each breath out develop your awareness of a grounded connection with the earth.
Energies of strength and support and vitality.
Every breath in provides a sensation of expansion in your spine.
Develop awareness of space in your body and a lengthening of your spine on every breath in as you continue to immerse into the sense of grounding on the breath out.
Your awareness of groundedness and spaciousness can travel deeper,
Deeper within you.
What's knowing that you are breathing?
Allow your awareness to drift anywhere within your experience where you sense being grounded.
Qualities of firmness,
Solidity,
Like a mountain.
And now still knowing that you are breathing allow your awareness to drift anywhere within your experience where you sense an opening into space.
Qualities of infinity,
Purity and abundance.
Now bring your awareness to the heart center,
The spiritual heart center,
Just to the right of the beating heart.
We call this space redaya.
Rest your awareness in redaya,
The spiritual heart center.
As you allow the endless,
Seamless,
Natural breath to flow through this space.
And become aware of the gap in between inhale and exhale.
In between each cycle of breath there is a gap,
A momentary pause where absolute stillness exists.
Become very familiar and fully intimate with this gap.
Resting your awareness in the pause between inhales and exhales.
There's a window into your soul,
Into a timeless space where affinity and abundance exist.
Imagine within redaya the embers of a fire softly glowing.
Being aware of your breath,
Allow the breath to blow on the embers of the heart.
No force,
Just the natural breath as it is.
An awareness of your breath blowing softly on the glowing embers of the heart.
Allow the embers to glow as brightly as you wish.
Allow them to manifest in their own way.
Anytime the chatter in your mind takes you away from redaya,
Gently bring yourself back to the breathing and the embers of your heart.
You you you you We now come to our mantra.
Om Mani Pameham.
It's a Sanskrit mantra.
Om means the universal vibration that connects us to everyone and everything.
Mani,
A jewel of shining abundance,
Compassion,
Equanimity,
Joy and love.
Padme,
The lotus flower within us that grows out of the mud of our ignorance to unfold in beauty and reveal the jewel within.
And Ham to bring us together to unify.
So Om Mani Padmeham means that when we open our hearts and speak the truth,
The lotus flower within us blooms with love,
Joy and compassion and connects us with all creation.
It is the mantra of loving kindness.
Soon I will repeat the mantra several times.
If you wish to repeat it silently along with me and continue repeating it beyond when my voice has fallen silent.
All the while resting your awareness in redaya.
After some time I will signal the end.
Om Mani Padmeham.
Om Mani Padmeham.
Om Mani Padmeham.
Om Mani Padmeham.
All's money back in to youtan you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you witnessing the echoes of the mantra the vibrations of loving kindness as they fill every cell in your body every breath in your lungs every thought in your mind of loving kindness now as a gift to yourself or someone else in your life develop a prayer or heartfelt intention for anything,
