This simple and grounding practice will help you attune to your breath and it's natural rhythm by practicing the art of surrender. By surrendering your attachments to control, you slowly begin to enter the gap in between breaths and the space of presence. In presence, you become less reactive and more responsive. When you respond rather than react, you'll be able to move through the world more consciously with every thought and action.

Hello dear friend,

And thank you for joining me for today's meditation to line you deeper with your breath.

Before we begin,

Please find your way into a comfortable position either seated with your back straight or laying flat.

Grab any additional cushions and blankets you feel you may need,

And most importantly,

Get comfortable.

Together let's meet on an inhale,

Taking a deep breath in through the nose,

And releasing slowly out the mouth,

Really grounding into our being as we transition from the rapid pace of day to day life into the sacred space of our practice.

Now gently transition from breathing out of the mouth to out of your nose,

Using the breath as a guiding force and a focal point into the present moment.

Continue to breathe deeply and slowly in through the nose,

Allowing the breath to travel all the way down into your lower belly,

Pausing gently at the top,

And feeling the rush of the warm air out your nose as you release down.

Once more,

Let's meet on an inhale,

Taking a deep breath in through the nose,

Into the mouth,

Gently holding at the top,

And releasing fully out the nose.

Continue like this on your own,

Drawing your attention inward by placing your focus on the breath,

Refraining from trying to control the breath.

Instead let the breath guide you as it follows you on the heels of each inhale and exhale.

Now let's take a deep breath in through the nose,

And release fully out of your nose,

As you maintain your attention on your breath.

You may notice thoughts popping in and out,

Drawing your attention away,

And this is completely and totally natural.

You may feel free to use this visualization to help you release your grip on your thoughts and any emotions that may be stirring within you right now.

As you breathe,

Imagine your hands like tight wound up fists,

And as you inhale,

Feel into that tension and grip that is preventing you from fully letting go.

As you exhale,

Imagine the fist gently feeling open and releasing any of the stored and pent-up tension inside.

Allow the breath to carry you inward,

Towards any pain or strain you may be feeling at this time.

And with every breath out,

Imagine the tension releasing as the unpeeling of the tightly gripping fists of your subconscious.

Allow this practice to be uniquely yours and unique to this moment.

Imagine any inner judgement or criticism of your practice or yourself with kindness and space.

The space that is created in the gaps between the inhales and the exhales.

These pauses or precious moments that have tended to and grow to accommodate any inner resounding voice that reinforces feelings of self-doubt or unworthiness.

These pauses can help reprogram you from a state of fight or flight to one of rest and restoration.

The breath is truly a magical tool that can alter the biochemistry of your body in mere seconds.

The breath is the ever flowing force within us that is always reflecting the true state of our being.

So check in with yourself right now and see where your breath has gone.

Try using the lens of curiosity and wonder to observe the fascinating nature of the human mind,

Of your mind.

Your attention is drifted away,

Just gently bring it back to the breath.

In yoga,

The breath is thought to carry or be intertwined with the life force giving energy that runs through all life forms called prana.

This essence that permeates the entire universe is also constantly flowing through us.

By bringing our attention to our breath,

We can begin to mirror under the divine essence that connects us all.

Allow your focus to gently hover on the breath and each time you inhale through your nose,

Begin to imagine radian white,

Golden light streaming in through your nostrils and flowing into your entire being.

As you exhale,

Allow any tension or beliefs or stale air to be released.

Continue this way on your own for the next few minutes as you dive deeper into your body.

Notice any internal resistance to stay on the breath and the visualization and allow the breath to engulf the resistance with a tender openness.

Let the breath be the guide.

And receive the golden light of prana as you feel your body begin to warm,

Light and essence.

You are the light.

You are the light.

You are the light.

You are the light.

You are the light.

You are the light.

You are the light.

You are the light.

You are the light.

You are the light.

You are the light.

You are the light.

Wherever you are,

Begin to take deeper,

Fuller breaths,

Grounding yourself back into your body.

Allow the inhales and exhales,

As deep as they are,

To be natural.

Feel free to exhale out your nose or mouth.

And just notice how you feel.

If you feel more at ease,

Have less physical pain or tension than when you started,

Your body and soul will tell you what it needs if you just listen closely enough,

Dear one.

Bring your awareness back to your body by expanding your senses outward as you reintroduce yourself to the external world,

Allowing sounds,

Tastes,

Smells and sights to merge back into your field of attention on their own time.

Take a moment before stepping back out into the world to appreciate and send gratitude out to yourself for taking the time in your day for self love and healing.

Feel free to come back to this practice as many times as you like,

And whenever you want to reconnect with that divine breath that connects us all back to our infinite source and fuels our souls.

May you have a wonderful day or night,

Wherever you may be,

And remember,

No matter who you are and where you are,

You always have the choice to breathe and ground.

Thank you.
