Begin by getting comfortable,

Either seated or lying down.

Close your eyes and allow any thoughts and tensions of the day to fall away.

When you are ready,

Begin to focus your attention on your breath,

Not trying to alter it in any way,

But just begin to notice its natural rhythm.

Begin to shift your focus into relaxing your body,

Tense and release the muscles in your lower body at a pace that feels good for you.

Relaxing and relaxing your feet,

Ankles,

Legs and glutes in your own time.

Just continuing to relax your lower body.

Know that it is normal for your mind to wander and if it does,

Just return your focus to relaxing the body.

Now let's release tension held within your middle body,

Releasing tension from your stomach,

Back,

Chest and sides.

You might want to sway from side to side.

You might want to pull your shoulders back to allow your chest to open.

You might try to speed it up,

But remember there is no rush and that it is so great that you are taking this time for you.

So make the most of it.

Next let your hands,

Wrists and arms relax.

Searching your arms and hands in any way that feels good.

Focusing on releasing the tension within your body.

Remembering that easing the tension in your body will assist you in achieving a heightened state of relaxation during this meditation.

Now bring your shoulders up to your ears.

Hold and allow it to drop.

Bring your shoulders up to your ears.

Hold and allow it to drop.

Do this a few more times and notice how the tension begins to decrease.

Pull your head from side to side in circular motions or forward and back to relax the neck and shoulder muscles.

There is no need to rush with this.

Take your time and do what feels good.

Scan your body and revisit any area that is still holding onto physical tension.

Now I want you to place your hands on your heart and take three deep breaths.

Breathing all the way in and exhaling as slowly as possible on the way out.

Do this at a pace that suits you.

Notice how turning your attention to the breath causes you to return your attention inward.

When you have finished your three breaths,

Relax your hands back to a comfortable position either in your lap or beside you and begin to intensify your attention.

Begin to search more deeply within yourself to find your authentic you.

Begin by focusing on what matters most to you within your life.

What do you value?

What do you value within yourself?

What characteristics do you have?

Who are you really?

Begin the next few moments reflecting on who you are and what your values are.

Now let's explore deeper and really find your authentic self,

Your true self,

Your higher self or the person you were meant to be.

Visualize watching over the current you,

Observing how you go about your daily life,

Notice all of the things you usually do and how they make you who you are.

Observe how you feel in your day to day life and be mindful of the things that hold you back from achieving your true potential.

Become an observer without any judgment,

Just noticing what you do.

Now deepen your thinking,

Who would you be if nothing could hold you back?

Imagine all of the barriers melting away.

Visualize reaching your full potential,

Living the life you desire,

Being the person you were meant to be,

Remaining focused on this.

Remember that this person that's achieving their potential is you.

You are so very capable and you are so worthy.

Now stop observing and instead imagine,

Place yourself back in the driver's seat of your life.

How would you express yourself if nothing could get in your way?

What would your characteristics be?

How would others describe you?

How would you describe yourself?

How fulfilled would you feel if you could be the person you want to be?

If you could be your authentic self?

Imagine all the details of the person you most want to be.

For this moment just be yourself,

Be the true you,

Be secure in who you are and know that you have always been this person.

Now imagine coming face to face with yourself.

What message would you want to pass on?

Take this time to tell yourself how worthy and capable you are of being your authentic self and that you and you alone are in control of your life.

What other message would you want to give to yourself?

Keep this image in your mind.

Keep this message in your mind once this meditation is over.

And remember that you can take steps every day to get closer to being the person you truly want to be.

Stay here a few moments longer.

Return your hands to rest upon your heart and take three deep breaths all the way in and all the way out while you recall this message.

When you are ready wriggle your fingers,

Wriggle your toes,

Roll your head from side to side and return your awareness to the present.
