This sleep,
Affirmation,
Meditation has been designed to put your mind and body into a deep state of relaxation,
Ready to switch off,
Ready to relax and ready to have a deep and restful night's sleep.
As this is a sleep,
Affirmation,
Meditation,
I invite you to get really comfortable and to lie down in the comfort of your own bed so that you are ready to fall asleep as soon as the meditation completes.
You may even find that you drift off before the end which of course is absolutely fine.
Sleep is something that can be quite difficult for many of us to manage.
We are busy,
Our lives are busy,
We have stresses and there is a lot going on.
So by taking some time,
Just a short amount of time before you sleep each night,
This can have a really profound effect on the quality of our sleep.
We will begin this affirmation meditation with a guided meditation that I will take you on and then I will move gently into the affirmations.
You are welcome to repeat the affirmations silently to yourself or if you wish just allow the words to wash over you,
Breathing in the words and all their meaning.
However you choose to listen to the affirmations,
The body and the mind and the subconscious will welcome in the words and prepare you to drift off and sleep soundly.
So it is now time to get comfortable,
Get really comfortable.
Do any adjustments that you need.
You may want to alter your pillows,
You may want to snuggle up under the duvet.
You may need to adjust your legs or your arms,
Straighten the spine.
Whatever you need,
Give yourself a couple of moments to get comfortable.
And once you are comfortable,
Gently allow the eyes to close.
Allow the eyelids to drift shut.
Feel your body and the surface beneath you.
Allowing yourself to relax deeply.
Allowing yourself to melt into the surface beneath you.
Feel supported,
Feel held and let go.
This is your time to release and to let go.
All that has happened throughout the day,
You can now let go.
The night is upon us and we are ready to sleep.
Simply take your attention to your breath and we will take three deep breaths in to really relax and centre the body.
Breathing in through the nose and letting it all go with a sigh.
Breathing in through the nose and releasing everything with a sigh.
Allowing the body to sink further and further.
Breathing in once more and letting it all go.
The body is melting,
The mind is softening and you are releasing all.
Scan the body now and notice any way you are holding on to any tension,
Giving it permission to let go.
Working at the top of the head,
Working down through the cheeks,
Into the jaw,
Into the neck,
Into the shoulders and the arms,
Letting it all go.
Any sensations,
Any tightness,
Just release that.
The torso,
The tummy,
The hips,
The back,
Anything you feel,
Just tell that area it's time to let go.
We can now let go.
Moving down towards the hips,
The knees,
The calves and the ankles.
Breathing and releasing,
Letting everything go.
We are becoming present.
We are moving into the now.
We are arriving into this space.
We are ready to surrender this day.
Ready to receive the affirmations,
Ready to listen to the words.
Signalling the body it's time to sleep.
I am preparing myself for sleep.
My body is becoming relaxed.
I give myself permission to let go.
I give myself permission to release the day.
All the parts of my body are softening in preparation for sleep.
Any tensions are leaving.
My breath is naturally slowing and deepening.
The in and the out breath is harmoniously flowing.
My body is surrendering to this moment.
I am beginning to feel blissed out.
My eyes are becoming heavy.
My cheeks and jaw are relaxed.
My shoulders and back soften.
Any tension in my stomach is gone.
My hips sink,
My legs and my feet are heavy.
My body feels so relaxed.
My mind is letting go.
I am telling myself it's time to let go.
It is safe for me to let go.
All my worries,
Any concerns,
They can wait.
This is my time to sleep.
Any thoughts,
Any stresses,
I now let them go.
This is my time to switch off.
And I switch off with ease.
I am now ready to go to sleep.
Nothing or no one will disturb me.
I am looking forward to this sleep.
I am ready to sleep.
I am ready to sleep soundly throughout the night.
I say goodnight to this day.
