Welcome to this guided meditation,
I Am Enough.
In today's practice we're going to be noticing where we are looking to fill ourselves up from the outside with achievements,
With approval from others,
With all the things that take us away from being ourselves and feeling that we really are enough just here in this moment fully deserving of our lives.
So just to get into it now,
I invite you to come into a comfortable seated position,
Holding your spine upright and relaxed,
Gently working your way into your breath.
And we're going to take this opportunity now just to allow all thoughts to subside,
Allow everything that we may have built up during the day or over the course of the week,
Just allowing all of that to kind of be breathed to one side for this moment,
Becoming aware of your inhale and your exhale and how your body subtly responds to your breath,
Perhaps the belly inflating,
The chest rising as you inhale,
And this sensation of sinking down as you exhale.
Feeling yourself one with your breath and with the response of your body to this breathing,
Almost feeling that you are being breathed.
And just noticing the mind,
Noticing if any thoughts or emotions come into the picture now.
And you just let them exist.
You don't resist them,
But you don't give them energy and attention either.
So you're just simply watching over everything as it happens in your body,
In your mind.
And being in touch with the simplicity of your breath,
This is your anchor point.
This is where you can lend your attention and awareness towards.
And so in these moments of silence with yourself,
I invite you to contemplate the following.
Where are we looking for validation on the outside?
Is there a certain goal or achievement that we're furiously,
Frustratingly working towards without enjoying the process and just in it for the outcome and what it lends to our image and identity?
Where are we seeking others to agree with us,
Reinforce our opinions,
Perspectives,
Approve of our actions,
Approve of the life choices we take?
So just kind of let those words run through you and trigger any inner truths or anything that kind of surfaces at this moment.
And just like observing our thoughts and emotions before,
Allow it all to be there,
Allow it all to exist there without any resistance.
And perhaps a feeling is connected to this sense of looking for ourselves outside of ourselves,
For looking for love outside of ourselves.
Perhaps there's an anxiety,
Perhaps there's a kind of slight friction or neediness.
And again,
However this manifests for yourself right now,
Just go with it.
Kind of allowing your body to just bring up anything that's needed to be reflected upon in this moment.
And kind of disconnecting from your mind now and just allowing for the natural flow of emotion,
Of catharsis,
Of feeling into these perhaps unfamiliar places and sensations.
Just allow them to be explored as you stay present to your breath and shine your light over all this psychic content.
Perhaps you're even feeling a sensation in a specific area in the body,
Perhaps in the heart,
In the base of your belly,
Maybe in the eyes,
In the face,
In the jaw.
Wherever you feel this stress or neediness being reflected and expressing itself physically,
Again,
Don't resist that,
Try bring ease to it with the breath.
Feeling that with each breath you can begin to let it go.
You can look at this shadow content directly,
Openly and with grace accept it into your being now.
Taking a couple of deeper breaths now.
Really exhaling it all out.
And it's very normal to at these times as well feel like this is kind of unfamiliar.
If we are not all these things we were so busily putting our energy and thoughts into what is left.
So I encourage you now to look deep within yourself,
Feel deep within yourself.
What is left?
The presence of your being.
The awareness of your breath.
This moment and the strength and choice that it inspires.
For you are enough and for this is a safe space to let go of anything.
Of any past,
Trauma,
Hurt,
Pain manifesting as a need to prove or grab onto something outside.
And I invite you to in your mind repeat,
I am enough to yourself.
I am enough.
Say it to yourself a few times.
Feeling how those words create a response in your body.
And feeling how you can further embody and enliven that response with your breath,
With your posture,
With your being.
Taking a slightly deeper inhalation and exhalation.
Releasing everything.
Just being here for a couple of moments.
Being with whatever your body is giving you,
Whatever message it is revealing to you.
Just embracing all of that.
And as this practice comes to a close,
Taking a moment to honour yourself,
To thank yourself.
For taking this time to touch base with you.
With your sense of fulfilment,
Self-confidence and enoughness.
And for life itself,
For all that external world that reminds you to come back into this place so you can then action in it with the same grace and wisdom.
Thank you very much for listening.
Namaste.
