It’s easy to fall out of the present when we make a mistake. But mistakes are not the attacker, they are the teacher. Our awareness of them is a gift, an opportunity to grow and to gain strength for our next step on this journey. This meditation is an opportunity to nourish that practice.

Welcome to Cultivate Your Wellness.

My name is Laura.

Thank you for joining me here today.

This week we're focusing on letting go of our attachments to mistakes.

Mistakes are an opportunity to learn and to grow,

But when we become over-focused on feelings associated with a mistake,

The shame,

Regret,

Frustration,

We hold ourselves back from fully embracing the opportunity.

Today we will practice grounding in the moment,

Settling the body,

Recognizing and honoring our feelings,

Cultivating a belief that we can overcome our errors,

And building the strength to continue on our journey.

Let's begin.

I invite you now to close your eyes or soften your gaze on a spot in front of you,

Taking a moment to find the most comfortable position for your body,

Beginning to bring your awareness to the breath,

Lengthening the inhales and the exhales,

Inviting in stillness.

It is in the pause where we gain our strength and stability.

It is in stillness where we reconnect with our inner wisdom and peace.

On your next inhale,

Feeling the body expand,

Taking up space,

And with the exhale letting go of any tension,

Any worry,

Any judgments,

Giving your body permission to relax and your mind to grow quiet,

Tuning out any distractions around you,

Focusing on the breath,

Connecting with the present.

It's easy to fall out of the present when we make a mistake.

Even mistakes from years ago may find their way into our thoughts,

And though they may be from far away in the past,

Our bodies and minds still respond to them as if they were happening right now.

Believe that it is okay to make mistakes.

They do not define who you are or who you will become.

Let the mistakes go and let only the lessons linger.

Mistakes are not the attacker,

They are the teacher,

And our awareness of them is a gift,

An opportunity to grow,

To gain strength for our next step on this journey.

It's natural to feel frustration or shame.

It's okay if you sense these feelings.

The practice is to see our response and to return back to the present,

Back to the stillness we're cultivating as you feel your mind pulling into patterns of the past,

Taking a moment to redirect your attention inward toward your inner peace,

Your inner knowing,

The part of you that believes wholeheartedly that you are beautiful and strong and smart and capable,

Allowing yourself to believe that you are not your mistakes.

Stay strong in your connection to your intentions.

Your intentions are your truth,

And we all make mistakes.

We all face our own judgment from time to time.

Believe you can overcome them.

Repeat these words of affirmation to yourself.

I know your actions are rooted in good intentions.

I believe you are more than your mistakes.

I see how capable you are.

I love you.

I know you.

I believe in you.

I see you.

I love you.

I know you.

I believe in you.

I see you.

I love you.

Continuing on your own for a few more moments,

Using any other words of affirmation that you think you need to hear today,

Bringing your attention back to the breath,

Back to your body,

And back to the space around you,

Remembering the sense of ease and love you've just created.

When you're ready,

Opening the eyes.

Our ability to return to this place of peace grows each time we practice.

Our inner peace is always accessible to us.

Each wrong mistake is an opportunity to return.

Each mistake is our greatest teacher.

Thank you for taking this time to meditate with me today.

I appreciate you and your devotion to your wellness.

Bye for now.
