Transcript

A stroll in nature.

Walking meditation for awareness and clarity.

Starting to draw your attention to your body whilst you walk.

Drawing that attention down towards the feet as you notice each step.

Whether you are walking barefoot or in shoes.

Notice the textures against the feet.

Either the earth,

Socks or shoes.

Starting to take mindful steps.

Noticing the foot on the ground,

Heel to toe.

Starting to exaggerate this movement.

Heel rolling towards the toes as you take each step.

Notice your pace.

Your breath.

The temperature of your body.

Starting to relax your shoulders.

Softening the muscles in the face.

Releasing any grip in the hands.

As you allow your arms to find that natural,

Subtle swing forward and back.

Noticing the weight of the legs.

Bend in the knees.

Taking a deep breath in.

You draw the crown of the head up towards the sky.

As your shoulder blades move together slightly to open out your chest.

You continue walking tall.

As you start to slow down your pace.

You are in no rush.

You are allowing yourself this time.

As you start to begin to notice the colours around you.

The shapes and movement of nature.

Maybe a tree.

Or some flowers are moving in the breeze.

As you begin to take a deep breath.

A closer look.

You notice smaller details.

Details of the leaves on a tree.

The petals of a flower.

Taking a deep breath in.

Filling your lungs with fresh air.

And beginning to take in all the aromas of nature around you.

What can you smell?

The earth waking up in spring.

Or leaves returning to the soil in autumn.

The smell of a crisp winter's day.

Or a warm afternoon in late summer.

With the smell of ripening berries.

Notice birds flying through the sky.

The breeze through the trees.

The rustle of leaves.

Trodden underfoot.

On your walk you may find somewhere where you can sit down or pause for a few moments.

Take this opportunity to enjoy being with nature.

As you sit or stand for a moment of pause.

Bring your attention back to your breath.

As you begin to slow it down.

If there is a tree nearby.

Feel the textures of the wood.

Feel the cool water of a stream.

Feel the softness of the leaves.

Feel the softness of the leaves.

The sensation of long grass brushing through your hands.

As you gain a sense of connection to nature.

Moving your gaze upwards towards the sky.

Noticing maybe the shadow of the moon.

A lone star.

The sun rising or setting.

Or high in the sky.

Noticing the clouds.

The colours.

The warm or cold wind.

And knowing that you are part of all of this.

Let the rain or the sun.

Or the breeze against your skin.

Be a reminder that you are whole.

You are in this.

You are nature.

As you begin to return back to your normal walking pace.

Noticing the natural rhythm of your breath.

Take one last look around.

Seeing the world with fresh eyes.

Before continuing with your day.

Full of awareness.

And clarity.
