This meditation explores what is possible just by witnessing, observing, being present with reality. Awareness opens the door to change while Intention ushers it in. This practice showcases this ability via the breath, utilizing the body as a microcosm of the worldly implications of manifestation, self-study, and growth. This is also a part of a larger meditation series incorporated in this teacher's Reiki Level 1 and 2 Courses. (2)

Hello!

My name is Eden,

And I am a therapist,

Reiki teacher,

And meditation guide.

Now whether you've found this meditation through one of my Reiki courses or just through the web of life,

Welcome!

These meditations are intended to deepen your relationship to your intuition and gifts,

And facilitate an understanding of your own internal landscape.

Each meditation is also a tool that can be offered to yourself or a client,

So I invite you to notice what shifts within you before,

During,

After,

Beyond the meditation,

Cataloging the effects with words and feelings and sensations.

Just letting yourself take note.

Allow it to be personal and universal.

Let's begin!

And wherever you are,

Go ahead and finding a tall spine,

Gently closing the eyes from top to bottom.

Deep breath in,

And long breath out.

Allowing yourself to just settle in right here,

Right now.

This meditation is one I return to often,

Both personally and with clients,

As there are so many lessons and so much power within the breath.

So go ahead and just start to turn your awareness towards the breath.

Just noticing what the breath is doing today,

Where it's landing in the body.

Maybe you notice a texture,

Or a weight,

Or a shape.

Just allowing yourself to notice each breath,

Releasing any urge to judge or change or praise the breath,

And just being with it as it wants to move.

Meeting each breath with new eyes,

Open heart.

And perhaps you notice now that just by bringing your awareness to your breath,

That something about your breath has shifted from when you first turned inward to look at it.

Maybe it's softened,

Maybe it's deepened,

Maybe something else.

What can you notice?

The observer effect,

The power of our awareness,

The truth that just by looking,

Just by seeing,

Just by holding,

Change can come without putting pressure on your system,

Your behaviors,

Your emotions,

Your thoughts.

You can just notice them as the first step towards change,

If that's what you're seeking.

But also a catalyst for it,

Naturally.

That awareness in and of itself opens the door to change.

Thank you,

Breath.

And having noticed our power of awareness now,

We take this just a step further,

And I ask you to map out the breath,

Maybe noticing where it travels to first,

Second,

Third,

Last.

Almost like a little internal connect the dots.

Can you draw the border of your breath inside of you?

Good awareness,

Good noticing,

Getting familiar,

Minute,

Particular with your own system.

What a gift.

You are alive.

This is the proof.

And now with this little map of the breath,

I ask that you imagine what it would feel like to let that kind of border boundary that you just drew dissolve or extend just a little bit further,

Deeper,

Wider into the body.

Can you notice the breath moving differently now as you just ask that internal map to shift?

The breath can deepen as the body softens and opens as the mind asks the body to find the new reality,

To find the feeling.

This is such a power within the mind and the body.

Where when the mind asks something of the body,

The body can do it.

The way the mind finds the answer to the question of how would that feel is to do it,

Is to feel it.

So just letting that border of the breath soften a few more rounds,

Growing,

Widening,

Deepening.

Maybe you start to feel breath all the way down into the hips,

The side body,

The armpits,

The shoulder blades,

The back.

Maybe,

Just maybe,

You can soften the body so much,

Soften the border of the breath so much that you start to feel the breath creep into your limbs,

Your neck.

Just asking,

What would that be like if I softened so much?

And letting yourself notice whatever feeling is moving through you.

This is the power of our awareness coupled with our power of intention personified through you,

Through the breath.

How important,

How integral to not only your meditation or Reiki practice,

But to life.

Awareness,

Intention,

All accessible through presence.

And just taking a deep breath in,

Relaxing any muscles in the face,

And a long breath out.

And whenever you're ready to return to the day,

You can gently blink the eyes open.

Welcome back.
