Visualizing Your Journey Of Transformation & Release
by Emma P
Embark on a journey into the depths of yourself—a journey of shedding, release, rebirth, and transformation. Descending a long staircase deep beneath the earth, you are invited to connect with a quality of wisdom within. This visualization poses the questions: What is ready to be released? What is ready to be born?
Transcript
Welcome to this visualization around transformation.
I'd invite you to begin by laying down.
Really resting your body into the floor or the couch or the bed wherever you might be.
Getting comfortable with pillows or blankets.
Anything you might need to feel fully supported.
And as you're ready,
I'd invite you to take a deep breath in.
As you exhale,
Close the eyes if that feels comfortable.
As you close your eyes,
Allowing your eyeballs to soften into their sockets.
Releasing the brow.
Releasing the jaw.
I'd invite you to take another deep breath in through the nose,
Slowly filling up,
Expanding the lungs.
Through the nose or the mouth,
Empty the breath,
Really releasing.
Let's do that one more time.
Take a full breath in through the nose.
Empty the breath,
Releasing.
Now begin to let the breath relax.
Finding a gentle in and out.
Just noticing the rise and fall of the breath.
Each exhale representing a letting go.
Each inhale representing a new beginning.
See if as your breath goes in and out,
Inhale and exhale.
Is it possible to soften just a bit on every single exhale?
Noticing tension or holding in the body.
And with each exhale,
Allowing it to relax.
Softening.
Beginning to let go of what you are holding within.
Really feel the ground or the bed or the couch or chair,
Whatever's underneath you,
Supporting you.
Your spinal cord weighted down.
The hips,
The backs of your arms and legs supported by the earth.
See if you can really feel that support and settle into it.
Knowing that in this moment on this journey.
You are held.
As you relax,
I invite you to imagine yourself in a room.
This room might be someplace familiar or someplace entirely new.
But you know that this space is entirely yours.
It is safe and comfortable.
And you begin to look around this room.
Notice what you see there.
Is there furniture?
Is it empty?
As you look around,
You are invited to transform this room to be however you'd like.
Maybe adding a cozy bed or a couch,
Plush rug,
Blankets,
Changing the colors,
Adding some lighting.
Anything to make this space feel more you.
And you explore this space,
Taking in the smells,
The sounds.
Maybe reaching out,
Running your fingertips along the surfaces.
Noticing how you feel in this space.
Internally.
Comfort,
The ease,
Maybe the safety that's present.
And as you move around this space,
You notice off to one side of the room,
Somewhat hidden is a trapdoor.
Wherever you are in the room,
You begin to walk across the floor towards this trapdoor.
And you bend down examining it.
You find the handle and touch it.
Noticing the feel.
Is it old and rusty,
Covered in dust?
Is it new and shiny?
And as you bring your hand to this handle,
It magically begins to turn as if just your touch is all that is needed to open it.
And as the trapdoor opens,
You see a staircase descending down,
Down,
Down.
And you feel magnetically drawn to this staircase.
Wondering where it leads,
What is within.
A curiosity.
So you begin to move through the trapdoor.
Placing one foot and then the other onto the steps.
And as you begin to descend,
You feel the stairs under your feet.
Noticing their texture.
Are they wooden,
Stone,
Some other material?
You reach out and touch the walls,
Running your fingertips along.
Maybe there's a railing or a groove to hold.
And you notice how the stairs descend.
Do they go straight down or are they windy?
Your eyes are beginning to adjust to the darkness.
And as you descend down,
Down,
Down,
You begin to see a dim glow emanating from ahead.
And the further you descend,
The brighter that glow becomes.
And a feeling of mystery and wonder come over you as you move towards the glow.
Finally,
The staircase begins to open up.
You find yourself in a large open space.
You take in this space,
Noticing what you see there.
Maybe it's a cave,
A large cistern,
Or some other space deep below the ground.
At the center of this space,
You see a body of water.
And you can tell from where you stand that the depths of this water are deep.
Reaching all the way down towards the core of the earth.
And there at the center of this body of water,
You see a glowing figure floating just above the surface.
And you realize this figure's glow is what guided you here.
And you know intuitively that this figure is safe.
That they are somehow connected to a soulful and a wise place deep within you.
And so you begin to move towards this figure,
Taking it in.
And as you move towards the figure,
It moves towards you.
And you begin to see it more clearly.
You notice what this figure looks like.
Are they human,
Animal,
Maybe a god or goddess?
Or a more amorphous,
Glowing shape?
As you take in this figure,
They also take you in.
And their gaze seems to pierce you.
Deep down within you,
Beyond your surface to your core.
Seeing your light,
Your shadow and everything in between.
And as you connect with this wise figure,
I invite you to ask it.
What is ready to be released?
What is ready to be released?
Allowing whatever it is to emerge without judgment.
Knowing it may come as words,
Gesture,
Image,
Sensation.
What is ready to be released?
And as the response becomes clear,
The figure extends themselves towards you.
Maybe their hands or some other part of them.
And you understand this as an invitation.
An invitation to hand over whatever it is that is ready to be released.
Habits,
Qualities,
Relationships,
Beliefs.
Whether it's tangible or more energetic.
Whatever it is,
You begin to hand it over.
Knowing that this figure and the endless depths beneath them can hold these things.
You no longer have to hold them.
And as you release these things,
The figure glows brighter.
A blessing on this death,
On this change,
This transformation.
And just breathing,
You notice whatever is emerging within.
Whatever feelings are there after handing these things over to be released.
And as you breathe,
As you stand here,
You ask this figure one more question.
What is ready to emerge?
What is ready to emerge?
Could be a new chapter,
A new state of mind,
New quality,
New relationship or project.
Again,
Welcoming whatever comes through without judgment.
What is ready to emerge?
And as you receive this message,
You watch the figure begin to glow brighter.
A celebration of what is emerging.
This new birth,
This new transformation.
Breathing in,
You recognize this change as well.
Noticing anything that's coming up around it.
With deep gratitude,
You thank this figure for the messages that they have communicated.
And as you express this gratitude,
The figure receives it and then begins to spin.
Starting slowly at first until it is spinning round and round and round.
Almost like it's moving,
Shaking it off,
Letting it go.
The way a windstorm might come through an autumn forest and shake and blow all the leaves off of the trees.
The same thing is happening to this figure who spins and spins and spins,
Creating their own wind,
Letting go,
Shedding with each and every turn,
Making space for what is to come.
Spinning and spinning and spinning until it's done.
And just like that,
There is only stillness.
Just you standing by the water.
And so you say goodbye to this space and turning,
You begin to ascend the stairs.
Moving up and up and up and up until eventually you reach the trapdoor,
Pushing it open and emerging back into the space where we began.
And you take this space in again,
Noticing it this time with new eyes.
Maybe even noticing that the space looks or feels different than it did before.
Rearranged or transformed in some way.
And although you have reemerged from the place you just came from,
You carry the wisdom and the sense of transformation from that place within you.
The wisdom and depth and transformative a power that exists there.
Connecting with this feeling of transformation within.
I'd invite you to draw one or both hands to rest somewhere on the body anywhere that transformative energy might reside.
Feeling that although you have left the space,
It is always available to you.
This deep transformative wisdom resides within your own body.
You can return to that place at any time.
Again to more consciously invite breath back into the body,
Filling the hands,
Filling the lungs.
Beginning once again to become aware of the space that you are in currently.
As you're ready and only as you're ready.
Again to flutter the eyes open,
Returning to the space you're in this moment in time.
