Hi,
This is Gina Mitchell.
I know you're really busy.
You are such a responsible person who juggles your career,
Your family and your wider community including catching up with your friends and extended family.
And even though you love everything that you do,
Well mostly sometimes you feel like you're on a hamster wheel and that it's groundhog day and you're just trying to get things done.
Now of course this can cause stress,
Anxiety and so many other negative feelings and this can be really detrimental to your health and wellbeing and I totally get it.
I totally get it.
And that's why it's so important to find time and take time for yourself to just unwind and relax.
And that's exactly what you're doing right now.
So congratulate yourself on taking charge of your time and energy.
What I want you to focus on is that you are a strong,
Creative and powerful person.
And while you listen to this calming meditation,
I will take you on a journey.
So it's more like an active meditation if you like.
If you haven't already,
Just find somewhere quiet where you can just sit and relax for around about 10 or so minutes.
And if you are with others,
Just excuse yourself and let them know not to disturb you.
I'll give you a little while to do this.
So once you are ready and you're sitting really comfortably,
Close your eyes and take a nice deep breath in and out,
Letting it go.
Now what I want you to do is to get in touch with any of these feelings that you've got right now,
Like the anxiety or the stress or any other negative feeling.
I want you to get in touch with it and I want you to actually be.
So find it and let it be.
Be with it.
I want you to allow yourself to really feel it.
Whatever negative feeling it is or feelings,
Feel it and just be with it.
Now just make note of where in your body you actually feel it.
Where is it?
Is it your stomach or your throat or your head?
Your solar plexus?
Where is it for you?
Now,
Does it have a shape?
Think about the shape that it has.
Does it have a colour?
Think about the colour.
Is it moving or is it still?
Think about that.
Now as you bring it all up,
I want you to just be with it.
Really be with it.
Allow this feeling or these feelings to just be.
Sit with it.
It's like you're sitting side by side with this and just allowing it to be.
You are sitting there with this feeling.
It's like you are watching it and waiting for it.
Just being with it.
You see,
When these feelings come up,
We tend to want to run away from them or deny them or push them down but they are there for a reason.
They are telling us something.
They are communicating something to us and it's important that we listen.
So just sit there and allow this feeling or these feelings to just be.
Notice as you are doing that,
Notice any changes that occur in the colour or the shape or even the position and if it's changing the position,
Just follow it around your body and allow it to be.
If it talks to you or if it makes a sound,
Listen to it.
Listen to what it's saying.
It wants to communicate with you.
What's it telling you?
Just listen.
Now I'm going to allow you to just be with this without talking for a little while.
I want you to keep focusing on it,
Following how it changes and following it around the body and let it know that you are giving it time and space.
Now,
Where is it?
Has it changed?
Has it changed colour or shape?
Where is it in your body right now?
Now you may have noticed that the intensity has decreased or even disappeared.
Take a nice deep breath in and out.
Come back into the room.
Back to now.
Back into your body and when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Now I want you to think about how you feel now compared to how you felt at the beginning.
Where are the negative feelings now?
I want you to remember that you are an incredible person full of love and vibrance for life and so much more powerful than you could ever believe.
And use this calming tool whenever you want.
Of course I recommend doing it daily,
So go well.
This is Gina Mitchell.
