Welcome.
Today we will spend some time connecting with our bodies.
When we attend to ourselves in a compassionate way,
We strengthen the relationship between ourselves and our physical bodies.
Fostering the relationship we have with ourselves can bring about a positive change to our well-being.
So settle yourself into a comfortable position,
Sitting tall and upright.
Roll back your shoulders slightly and tuck your chin toward your chest.
Rest your hands in your lap.
And once you have settled in,
Gently close your eyes.
Let's take a couple of deep breaths,
Breathing in through the nose and breathing out through the mouth.
Breathing in deeply and breathing out slowly and gently.
And one more time,
Taking a long deep breath in and releasing the breath out slowly.
Letting it all go.
Allowing the breath to settle now.
And as it does,
Just notice how you feel.
Notice any thoughts that are present.
Notice any feelings or emotions.
Notice any doubt or judgment.
And just be present with whatever you experience in this moment.
Being gentle and compassionate with yourself.
And just noticing what's on the surface.
And now,
Let's start by noticing your body's existence.
And say the following words as you begin to connect with your body,
I am with you.
Relax your face.
Relax your cheeks.
Ease the space between the eyebrows and unhinge your jaw,
Saying I am with you.
Relax your shoulders and release all your efforts.
Release all tension and discomfort,
Saying I am with you.
And now,
Slowly apologize to any areas that often feel unwell.
Maybe it's your neck,
Your waist,
Or your back.
And just gently saying the following words,
I am sorry that I ignored you.
With loving kindness and compassion,
Directing the following words to your body,
I am with you now.
And now,
Bring your attention back to those areas that often feel unwell.
And imagine that there is a ray of very gentle,
Golden light right above the head.
It surrounds the body and slowly begins to flow down through all the unwell areas.
This golden light is flowing to where it is needed.
Comforting you and soothing you.
Softening these areas.
And as it travels throughout the body,
Healing the parts that need healing,
Direct the following words to the body.
Thank you.
I am with you.
Thank you.
I am with you.
Thank you.
I am with you.
And now,
Just allow the mind to settle.
Perhaps take a couple of deep breaths here,
Noticing how you feel.
Noticing if you feel different from how you did at the start of the practice.
And begin to gently return to your surroundings.
Stretch gently.
And when you are ready,
Open your eyes.
