Meditation is about allowing for the present moment,
To observe,
To allow.
In our day-to-day lives,
We may ignore difficult emotions in order to get through our many tasks we are obligated to perform.
We don't allow ourselves the time to process through ways we are feeling with empathy,
Support,
And non-judgment.
To hold space means to simply allow,
To listen.
To not try and change anything,
But instead just offer support.
It means being completely honest with yourself and treating yourself with the utmost kindness,
Compassion,
And love that you would show to anyone else coming to you for support.
As you settle into your meditation,
Begin by tuning into the physical body.
Feel its weight,
Its sore or tender spots.
And simply acknowledge how you are feeling at this present moment in time.
Is there tiredness?
Injury?
Hold space for however you are feeling at this moment.
The same you would treat a friend in pain,
Or just quietly keep their company.
And then shift your focus to your mind and your thoughts.
How are you feeling emotionally?
Content?
Anxious?
Sad?
Leave no room for judgement,
But tune into your heart space where the soul resides.
And lovingly wrap your breath and intention around that space.
Be available to yourself with compassion,
With love.
Oftentimes negative thought patterns can begin to emerge.
Just give yourself the gift to simply listen to yourself,
To hold that space.
Listen to yourself with compassion.
Compassion must begin with ourselves if we are to extend compassion to anyone else.
And allow that compassion to shift into contentment for all that you are today.
Sit quietly in the supportive and loving space you have created for yourself.
Allow for space,
For connection,
For support.
And take a few moments to simply hold space for yourself.
Allowing your breath to hold you steady.
Allowing the mind and thoughts to be calm and fluid.
And filling that heart space up with a sense of love and compassion to take out into your day today.
To not only meet yourself with that compassion,
With patience,
But to share that compassion and patience with all who you meet in your day today.
To hold space,
To listen.
Musings for this meditation.
In what ways do you not hold space for yourself on a regular basis?
Do you not allow yourself to process through difficult feelings or listen to your soul's inner voice?
In what ways can you hold space for yourself more?
What practices and places would resonate with treating yourself with kindness and compassion?
Carry that love with you today.
Hold that compassion,
Space,
And patience in your heart today and every day.
Namaste.
