Hi and welcome to this Self Love Guided Meditation.
This is coming out on Valentine's Day for a reason.
Because often we put ourselves last when it comes to love.
We do everything for everybody else and we put our own needs last.
So if this is your first time here,
Welcome.
I'm Helen and I am rebuilding my life in Australia after some challenges along the way.
And I'm here to inspire particularly other women that it's not too late to start over.
Now,
If you're single,
Especially Valentine's Day can be challenging.
Because with all the promotions everywhere,
It's like a reminder.
Oh,
I don't have anybody else in my life.
But the problem is if we're looking for something outside of us to make us happy,
That is never going to work.
We can't effectively love somebody else unless we love ourselves first.
So whether you're single,
Whether you're in a relationship,
Happily,
Unhappily,
Wherever you are in life,
It doesn't matter.
This meditation is for love,
For you,
For self love.
So start by getting into a comfortable position.
And if you want,
You can just put your hands on your belly and connect with your body and feel your breath.
As it enters and leaves your body.
Now,
That is an instant way also to calm your nervous system.
So if Valentine's Day makes you feel stressed.
That will help bring those anxiety levels down.
And just continue doing that for a few minutes.
And if you wish,
You can also close your eyes.
And you can feel the breath going into your body.
Breathing away any tension.
So just take a moment to check in with yourself on where you're feeling tension in the body.
It might be the jaw,
It might be the shoulders.
Just know in this moment,
Everything's okay.
You are loved.
Keep that awareness on the breath and the body.
And maybe you feel your anxiety levels starting to settle.
And if not,
That's okay too.
Just be with whatever is current for you now.
No need to push anything away.
Just meet whatever you're thinking,
Whatever you're feeling with love for yourself and compassion.
Just as you would for a friend,
If they were feeling upset and anxious.
Be a friend to yourself.
And now connecting with your heart.
And if you want,
You can put your hands on your heart.
The heart holds a lot of wisdom.
And now imagine that the breath is going in and out through your heart.
And as you breathe in,
You breathe in love.
And feeling the heart opening.
And as you breathe out,
That love spreads throughout your body to all the areas that need it.
And continue breathing in this way.
In and out through the heart.
And if it feels difficult to send love to yourself,
Acknowledge that.
It may be due to what you were told as a child.
And that's okay.
And if you want,
You can connect with that child.
Going back to maybe a time when you were young.
And you heard things that made you believe that you weren't worthy of love.
And now you can imagine sitting next to that child.
Holding them close.
And reassuring them that you love them,
That you're going to take care of them.
And if this brings up any strong feelings and emotions.
If it's possible,
Allow yourself to feel them.
Because then they reduce their hold on you.
You know that it's not true now.
When you were young,
You didn't know any different,
You didn't know any better.
But now you know that you're worthy of love.
And it's okay to love yourself.
And now you're giving yourself permission to love yourself fully and deeply.
Because when we love ourselves,
We send more love out into the world.
So as you breathe in and fill up your body with love.
That increases your vibration.
And that has a positive effect on those around you.
So just feeling whatever love is there already in your heart.
Even if it's only a tiny little spark.
We all start from somewhere.
And the more you pay attention to loving yourself,
The more that love will grow.
And keep coming back to the breath and the heart.
And if the mind is trying to distract you or contradicting you.
Just know you don't have to believe what the mind is telling you.
You are not your thoughts,
You are not your mind.
So you can say thank you for trying to keep me safe and trying to protect me.
But it's okay now,
I know that I'm worthy of love.
And I know that it's okay to love myself.
And all love starts with loving ourselves.
And then we have plenty of love left over for other people too.
And we love ourselves equally as we do our friends,
Our family,
Our pets.
Anybody else or any other beings that we love.
We are equally worthy of love as they are.
And if you find it helpful,
You can keep bringing to mind your younger self,
That child.
Giving them love and knowing that child is still there within you.
And when you love that child,
You love yourself.
And you can imagine giving that child a hug.
And you can also,
If you want,
Give yourself a hug.
And again,
Doing that helps to regulate and calm the nervous system.
Reassuring your body and your subconscious mind that you are loved and that you are safe.
And that you are deserving and worthy of love.
And feeling now all the love that's in your heart that you've generated during this meditation.
And knowing you can come back and do this practice as often as you need to.
When you need a dose of self-love.
When you need some self-care.
A reminder that it's okay to love yourself.
And in fact,
It's a requirement.
So just feel now all the love in your body.
The positive emotion that you've generated during this meditation.
And just know that love and that positive energy will benefit not only you,
But everyone that you come into contact with.
So now,
If you want,
You can open your eyes.
Make some gentle movements,
Just listening to the body and what it needs.
Thank you for joining me today.
Go forth and spread the love.
And always remember to love yourself first.
I will see you again very soon.
And in the meantime,
Take care,
Go well and lots of love.
