by Holly Boullé
As we head into Kapha season or winter we may feel it start to pull us down. Feeling a bit more sluggish, our motivation and lust for life dampen. In this meditation, we will activate the fire back inside and make room for new seeds of intention.

Carpets season is this time of year when you know we feel it,
It's that wintering vibe right,
It's that time when we can find ourselves wanting to go into hibernation mode and it's really natural for us to spend some time pulling back.
However,
We can also find that that energy goes into excess and our motivation goes out the window and we feel really stagnant and really slow and our mind takes a while for it to catch up and everything can feel a little bit foggy,
A little bit heavy.
So if that's resonating with you hopefully this meditation will help you find a little bit more fire,
A little bit more warmth,
A little bit more get up and go.
So I invite you to,
As and when you feel ready,
Take a moment to just close your eyes and find somewhere in the body that feels like you can rest your awareness easily.
Now that could be the breath in the belly,
However you know if you've had coughs or colds or anything like that then the breath may not be a nice place to focus on right now.
I know that's absolutely fine.
Find another area of the body that could be the heart space,
That could be even a hand or a toe,
Somewhere where you can feel safe to completely surrender into this moment and just allow your awareness to rest there and allow your mind to slow down just a little bit.
Just allow that nervous system to begin to regulate itself again,
Finding a little bit more ease,
Letting go of any thoughts of things you need to do or remember just for now.
Allow yourself to just be fully present in this moment with that area of your body and begin to get curious with it.
What sensations are present for you?
Are they changing or staying quite static?
Are those sensations quite subtle or are they quite loud?
And if at any point you find yourself becoming distracted or pulled away by thought or sound in the external environment,
Know that's absolutely fine.
Just gently bring your attention back to that part of your body where you feel safe and remembering you're not trying to do anything here,
Just being,
Being with this part of your body.
You don't need to worry about whether you're doing it right or whether you should be trying harder.
Release any judgments that are coming up for you and just be with this part of your body and get curious what's going on there.
If you're finding your mind is particularly busy today,
You can actually place your hands on that part of your body to bring an extra anchor.
And I invite you now to bring your awareness to your belly,
That place where you can feel the gentle rise and fall of the breath or its deepest in the body.
And I invite you to imagine that in this space buried within there is a little flame and with your awareness,
With each breath you take in,
That flame begins to grow.
It begins to get brighter and more powerful.
See how large you can allow that flame to grow with nothing but your awareness,
Your imagination,
Maybe timing that with each breath you take in,
That oxygen fueling that fire.
And this flame begins to warm up the system.
You find yourself becoming comfortably warm and this flame manages to dance around all the areas of the body that are feeling a little bit stagnant,
A little bit heavy,
Anything that's feeling a little bit blocked.
Allow this flame to bring the medicine to these areas.
You notice your muscles begin to soften,
You let go of any tension you've been holding on to,
You feel things beginning to shift internally.
Notice where that flame wants to dance,
Notice what areas of the body it feels called to pay attention to,
Notice what sensations emerge as it moves to a different area.
Allow this flame to do the work for you,
Allow it to bring you the medicine that you need in this moment,
Warming up the system,
Letting go of any tightness,
Shifting anything that you've been holding on to that's no longer serving you.
Notice if there's anywhere else in the body that feels like it needs a little bit more medicine of this flame and allow your awareness to guide it,
Clearing your vessel,
Almost like how a forest fire makes room for new growth.
This flame is clearing out the old,
Clearing out the stagnant,
Clearing that which is limiting you and as and when you feel like the flame has done all it needs to,
Consciously making that flame smaller with each out-breath and taking one final breath and sighing to put out that flame.
Now from this new place of being clear,
Being open,
You get to decide what seeds you want to plant in this fresh soil.
So you may want to put your hands on your heart space now and allow it to come to you,
What is it that you want to plant in this new nourished soil?
What are the intentions?
What dreams and desires?
And imagine placing those intentions like little seeds into the soil of your heart and to amplify,
Nurture and nourish these seeds even more.
We're going to be tapping into a powerful force,
So bringing to mind all of the things that you're already very grateful for right now and they can be big things,
They can be small things,
It could just be that the Sun comes up every morning,
The silhouette of a tree against an evening sky,
The waves that lap on the beach,
The stars that twinkle overhead around a beautiful moon.
It might be the feeling of having your morning copper,
Of having your favorite blanket draped over you as you read a good book.
It might be all the tough stuff that you've been through that has taught you so much about you and who you are and what you're capable of.
It might be the people in your life,
The fact that you have internet and a device to sit and listen to a meditation.
Allow all of those things to come to you now.
You may find a little smile creeping on your face as you tap into that feeling of how lucky am I?
Like seriously,
How lucky am I?
And feel the energy that generates in the system,
The effect that has on the heart space.
How lucky am I?
See if you can amplify that energy.
Allow it to fill up every cell of your being till you're just vibrating with this sensation of how lucky am I?
You may even feel called to say thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
Notice how that feeling of gratitude fills in your body.
See if you can expand it outside of your body.
Can you allow it to grow even further?
Can you allow it to fill the room you're sitting in?
Can you expand it out down your road?
Can you send it to someone that you know right now is in desperate need of more love?
Imagine sending that into their own heart space,
Directing that loving gratitude,
Filling them up with that feeling of how lucky am I?
And imagine this energy that you've now generated seeping into those seeds that you planted,
Those seeds of intention,
Giving them all the nutrients they need to grow and blossom and grow taller than you could ever have imagined.
Feeling gratitude for the fact that you know that's done and you'll get to see that.
Again gently saying to yourself if you feel called to do so,
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
And releasing your hands now and bringing your awareness back to either the breath or that place in the body where you feel safe,
Where it feels like home and just spending a moment or two with yourself in this magic of the energy you've created.
And again if at any point you get distracted,
No that's absolutely okay.
Just gently bring your awareness back,
Remembering no need for judgment,
Not about trying harder.
Just gently keep redirecting that attention back to that place in your body.
And starting to bring your awareness now to the feeling of contact with the chair or floor or cushion beneath you,
That feeling of gravity on you that's pulling you down,
Keeping you attached to the earth,
The feeling of the air on your skin,
Any sounds you can hear outside of this space in the outside world.
And as and when you're ready slowly opening your eyes,
Coming back into the room.
